squeeze
My old HS b-ball coach, an italian guy who played ball with Curt Flood and Frank Robinson back in the day in Oaktown, had a favorite expression: “When you got em by the balls, you gotta squeeze.”
This is the squeeze game. We beat Sanchez or their pen, Tigers are down 3-0 and basically done. If they can rebound, they’ll be fired up and pointing toward another Verlander start game 5 monday when (in their dreams) they could go ahead 3-2. Imo saturday is the pivotal game. SF had best squeeze the life out of them, now.

We are “Defense” Crawford Beautiful play
Oh and sit down Fatso !another K
As a 100% straight man I can tell you with 99% certainty that I would suck Brandon Crawford’s dick tonight for that play!
And there’s still a 100% chance that I will never suck Brandon Crawford’s dick tonight.
Uhh . . . lqtm.
The Andy Dirks switch tonight didn’t work
the super-sub-legend GROWS…….
Is Bochy going to let Timmy finish it?
Good question. Probably not, but who knows for certain . . .
Timmy looked like he could go 9 innings.
Timmy the “K” machine Lincecum.God Detroit sucks. Is their any team in the AL that can give us a game in the W/S? Oh I guess not!!
Maybe the comeback A’s… Would of been interesting to see those two go at it. Of course the rest of the Nation would of tuned out but who gives a shit about them
ESPN announcer just said:”the SF pitchers are putting up some incredible numbers” and added, “Detroit was favored; they had the pitching, they had the offence. It has turned out just the opposite.”
ESPN, the most overrated name in Sports
when it is all you got. Love the one you are with. I watch BB2N every night, it is all we get in the UK.
ESPN shows the NFL in europe, but it is on paid cable here, so I can’t watch football. I paid for mlb.com because during the regular season ESPN is all boston, nyc games. and I tivo BB2N cause, especially during the regular series, there is a lot of crap on ESPN baseball.
Like tonight, ESPN announcers and it is like I am watching a different game, no super slo-mo, no in-game interviews.
Shit, that is all we Giants fans heard about in 2010, the Phillys, better pitching, big bats, great D.
Who won the World Series that year again???????😏😏😏
i didn’t really care that Blanco was right or wrong on that pitch until McCarver started yapping about it and it was clear he was RIGHT…..
Gee Jim, I hope you weren’t wiping your ass with that hand.
Oh that catch by Posey, that’s why Posey caught Zito and not Hector.
The hector sanchez experiment didn’t work.
So we really are now facing a watershed moment here. If we hold sway….I’m going to stop. It’s my thread tomorrow and I don’t want to jink it.
But it is swelling, growing, it is becoming the next entity. We don’t know how it unfolds we just hope we are part of the impending insanity tomorrow (or whenfucking ever).
Well so much for our DH tonight.Guarantee Bochy goes with Huff tomorrow.Guaranteed stone cold lock.In what will be his Final apperance in a Giant uniform.
Timmy was lights out again. Great job kid
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh0000000000000000000000
Blanco!!!!
When Romo starts pitching, it is time to add brandy to the coffee, cause it is almost over
Melky wouldn’t of made that catch.. Great catch Blanco
Fox’s camera angle sucked
What a catch…way to get excited Joe, you four eyed fuck!
Our own Joe Rudi!
FUCKING GREGOR BLANCO IS.INCREDIBLE!!!
How’s ade defense again ESPN and others!!!!
wow, I didn’t see arias come in. did he pinch hit for timmy?
of course, I was getting the brandy down
CELEBRATE
One fucking win away…God Damn I don’t want this season to end!
Um, yeah. Well, ok…..Gimmie? We win> See you tomorrow for that thread .
we score we win
fuck all of the haters.
Flav, I have been thinking about something for the last 7 days at least and I haven’t said anything because I doubted that I could prove it. So, I am asking you if you can find the POTD from earlier in the season, where I said, “I guarantee that the Giants will win the World Series.” If you can find the POTD, that would be so cool. Thanks!
Was that the one where you agreed with me?
I’m kidding, I’m kidding…
lqtm
Nope…on THAT ONE, he was agreeing with me, Michael.
Ya think? HAHAHA.
Absolute dominance.
BALL GAME!!!!
Thanks Detroit for making it easy on us this.whole W/S!!!
FUCK all the ij-its that can’t see this team for what it is: BRILLIANT
Romo, with every save you can see his confidence just grow as the closer. Great job Giants pitching.
Woo-Hoo!!!!!!!!
what she said
The pre-game huddle in the SF dugout tomorrow will be kicking shit in the faces of detroit. without meaning too, of course.
Blanco and Crawford won that both ways. Loved this game.
So D can’t score on the road without the DH, and can’t score at home with one. Giants flat out dominating every facet. That was the squeeze I wanted. Finish this tmw and Verlander can rot.
Can I just say, that was fucking awesome!!!! Ayeee!!!
yes, you may
check in?
and I hear there is only 36 hours of rain and wind left in your area?
Good night all, I have so many thoughts and questions, I just don’t want to jinx it!!!
Night all.
‘Nite Mike . . .
Tthe Horse to wrap it up,doesn’t get any better than that for all Giant fans and especially all the loyal Flap Nation and our leader “BF AKA Craig”!!!!!
27 outs to go for another W/S domination performance in 2012 and of course another Monster Parade!!!!!
3-0.
3-0?
Pfffffttt….
This isn’t real.
Is this real?
It’s really there………
Cain for the sweep
would be so sweet
Wow. I figured this would be easier than the NLCS, but , , , , , , , , , ,
Nevermind.
Outstanding game by the Giants, outstanding being able to join you guys.
Have a great evening..
Edd, he was a defensive replacement for Pablo that the announcers didn’t bother to tell us. Timmy didn’t bat, AL and all that.
cheers, and DOH!
THis BBOTD has given up 4 runs in 6 games.
Trip out on that before you dismiss her.
She should be nothing but embraced,,,,,,,,,
We should all cu . . . Umm, never mind. Ferret? You in bed?
Oh dear. Dial a circle jerk??
Hallelujah, Brother Flavor! LMAO…Can’t wait until tomorrow night or Monday, so we can see who takes her place!
What’s that now, 32-4 in the last six games? Keep on keepin’ on.
ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPNU Alternate Programming, ESN . . . Fuck, I had to channel surf all this college football shit, before I finally found the World Series/Baseball Tonight.
g’nite Mike, Fugazi, Kev
and y’all
Typical Giants win.
In an atypical situation.
I guess “luck” gets you 3 straight wins in the WSeries.
Let’s not let these slugs get back into it.
Cain should plan to bear down and work to finish this thing off tomorrow…
Vogy worked his butt off, and got some crucial DP grounders, and taking care of Cabrera with the bags loaded was just huge. Great work.
Timmeh was lights out. They had no chance against him. Crawford booted that grounder, and Timmeh shrugged off that shit and mowed down the next guy like it was nuttin’, just Fuck Yeah!.
And Romo got it done. They don’t know what to do with him. He didn’t have his super duper stuff, but it was plenty good. He might be a tad tired, dunno. But, he’s game, for sure.
Blanco, Pence, Crawfish — way to go. They got it done. 2 was all we got, that’s enough with this pitching going like it’s going…
I know it’s not over, but someone posted a few days ago that the Giants might be looking at 3 straight WS championships had Posey not been injured last year. My first years as a fan I had to endure those A’s teams . . . . this will be very, very sweet.
The only thing I would change is Hector as DH. I didn’t like it before the game, and he shouldn’t be DH tomorrow. Get Arias in there somehow. I don’t care that he’ll face a RHP. Hector is a wasted AB at this point. Heck, I would even put Nady is as DH and have Pablo still play in the field. Nady might run into one, he’ll take some good ABs. If Detroit wakes up tomorrow, they should be playing like their hair is on fire to win the game. I’m just not sure they have it in them. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants kick their ass tomorrow…
I’m telling you guys, as soon as the Giants win this Series, the national media will move on so fast to other stories, it will be like it never happened. Just like 2010. And, I will be loving it all…
righto; fine with us
Got to see the whole game thank-you. Power went off once while talking to my brother in Fresno. Weird storm, it’s hitting us from the North but coming from the South.
We’re good here and the Giants are up 3-0, I would have never called that.
Cheers all.
great man, this was first whole game I got to watch in a while too. Gotta figure out a way to catch the espn broadcast–i’d rather listen to gary thorne than the f-ing fox doofs. sutcliffe was the guy I heard a long time ago say Lincecum’s troubles date back to spring training when (according to sut) he couldn’t control his fastball. He sure looks good now; maybe this bodes well for a return to nearer form for next year.
But I said this last night, there is zero doubt Posey is the C for everyone, every day, as long as he holds up. Forget 1b, 3b or any of that BS; you can’t move a guy who dominates the position like he does somewhere else. And I don’t think he’s having any of it, either.
I have a bit of a dilemma here Willie. Sports Center, Weather Channel or bed. OK bed it is. Matt tomorrow, I gotta think, we’re good.
Great game…another nail-biter. Torture 2012. Awesome awesome game. And again, it was so intense, I just couldn’t break away to Flap it…
Been catching up on some post-game CSNBA…Affeldt talking about the ring being the most important thing. That ring in 2010 was stupendous…can only imagine what the next will look like.
I have been feeling for some time that I like this squad better than 2010s…each game just solidifies those feeling that much more.
ONE MORE!
Damn – I was out running around all day…barely got settled in for the first pitch…just now saw that Posey won the Hank Aaron award. Nice prelude to the MVP award.
Shit…just heard that the Giants have not trailed an opponent in 54 innings! Yowza!
I love this factoid, a combination of the Giants’ current dominance and Dodger futility of yore: “San Francisco threw the first consecutive shutouts in the Series since Baltimore in 1966, when Jim Palmer, Wally Bunker and Dave McNally did the trick to finish off the Dodgers.”
Also, the Giants have given up 3 runs and haven’t even unleashed the loogie on the Tigers.
Palmer over Koufax…with a shutout. Pretty other-worldly…
Ballet boy, here. Thanks for the texted score updates. Daughter soloed. I caught a few innings on radio as I feared getting lost in the swamps by the airport en route to my cousin’s place. (Funny: local ESPNs came in lousy; picked up 1530am in Cincy! Good sign: their ads for the BLACK&ORANGE Bengals.) Then saw Gregor’s catch in the 9th and the close. I still can’t fathom this and will never quite fathom. Remember, when we talked about the hot team, the hungry team winning it all? This is something beyond that: how to describe it? The laser-focused team? The totally confident team? BEYOOTIFUL. G’night, girls. One mo’ time. Hurricane Sandy? How ’bout Hurricane Gigantes?
Awesome game, and the most awesomest moment, for me, was this scenario:
A. Oh no! Peralta hit a homerun!
B. Wait! It might go foul!
C. Blanco caught it! What an amazing catch!
D. The Giants’ D is incredible!
And I felt a little bit psychic, because when the Giants were batting in the previous half-inning, I was yelling at the TV screen for Blanco to walk away from the ump after Blanco started arguing the called 3rd strike. I yelled: “Don’t get thrown out! We need your defense!”
Mitch Albom even uses the word “unflappable”: http://www.freep.com/usatoday/article/1663363?odyssey=mod|newswell|text|Detroit%20Tigers|s
He went the first five paragraphs without even mentioning that the Giants were the opponent. Typical…
Pretty good video analysis from Jason Stark with some of those historical, amazing stats.
He’s the only guy at ESPN that actually “gets” the Giants…
http://espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs/2012/story/_/id/8563736/mlb-san-francisco-giants-crafting-vintage-masterpiece
Actually, Caple and one other guy (forgot his name) selected us as well in their “experts” picks.
I sincerely pray that Mega Big Flavor Shady archives this season’s blog, it is too valuable to lose.
one for the ages, for baseball, forever.
