I agree. The story is sad and pathetic. But he was a ND star, and that makes something of a difference. If he were playing for AZ State the story would barely make the headlines. A lot of people, me included, somehow sense that ND deserves what it’s getting out of this farce. But if I feel like laughing at ND, I’ve long since exhausted any laughing I had to do at the guy in the spotlight. I’d be happy to see the light go out right now. (Of course, it won’t, but I won’t be watching any longer.)
