A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Quietly Dominating…..

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 9, 2010

A tale of two pitchers:

Pitcher A has given up 2 ER’s in his last 31 innings/4 starts. He has 26 strikeouts against 8 walks. He’s given up 17 hits. He is 4-0 over those 4 starts…..

Player B has given up 1ER in his last 34 innings/4 starts. He has 23 strikeouts against 5 walks.  He’s given up 17 hits and is 3-1 over those 4 starts……

Player A is on the cover of every baseball magazine that doesn’t have Strasburg or Clown-Face all over it. His name is, of course, Mr Pitcher of the Month “Ubaldo Jimenez”…..

Player B is our Matt Cain. Not bad…..

“The only pitcher who reasonably could be taken off the 25-man roster so another starter could be added is Wellemeyer, . . .”

Sorry, Todd, but the cars to the airport are full. Hey, look on the bright side — you have family within walking distance! Adioooooooooooooos . . . .

To make a roster move for Joe (or whoever from Fresno), Castilla and Bautista have no options, and they didn’t want to move either Romo or Runzler, either. Those were the predominant reasons according to what I read.

I also got the sense from what I read that the team is not ready to give up on Wellemeyer (regardless of what some of the Flap experts say). I get a sense (from the same article) that if he is moved out of the starting rotation, that he’ll be kept around for long-relief.

xoot, you are aware, I assume, your comment should be on the Splash?

From Bagg’s piece today: “In other news, Bruce Bochy sat down Aaron Rowand to explain why he wasn’t playing for a second consecutive day.” Isn’t it pretty damned apparent? With the layout of Cincy’s yard, you can take some chances in having Huff and Burrell in the OF at the same time…in our yard, maybe not.

The only splash posters capable of hearing “adioooooooos” trail off as the car drives away also post here. Ergo . . . .

Watch out ChiP, you’re close to insulting the vaunted Gamer. Risking a Room B offense as adjudged by the Flap Kommandant…

Bochy is tired of being nice. It’s time to get tough! Rowand sits if others can produce better. To hell with his contract. Baseball is cruel that way. Molina is getting rested more and more.

Eat it, SnarkkFuck. I told you asswipes that Rowand would sit after Burrell got here. He just wasn’t going to sit for Shitholtz.

Only one person can solve Rowand’s woes, and that’s him, by starting to hit the fucking ball.
