A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

All Star Game Contest is Up…

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 3, 2010

Last night was the first time in a while I can remember questioning Bochy’s moves more than once (in fact, at least three times):

1) Starting Whitey one game into Buster’s supposed ascension to the catching crown. I thought he was just Dirrrrty’s personal catcher? By the way, Dirrrrty has been painfully average for about two months so I don’t see the point in this “personal catcher stuff”.

2) Not pinch hitting for Whitey late in the game

3) Not sending Ray out to START the 8th. It was obvious in the previous inning that Affeldt was off and he was lucky as hell to make it out of that inning without giving up a run. If Bochy had planned on using Ray anyway you don’t bring him in for his first appearance to have to come out of the stretch with men all over the place. He should have started that inning…..

All star game contest is up. Looks like there are more than a few exact same guesses (I noticed me and Zumie and think there were others). Twin can decide what to do if we get a multiple winners. Probably a tie-breaker sudden death contest to be determined? That’s what I’d do…..

This is one of those games like they used to have at Coors. Criminy.

Torres stole 3rd? I love that. It changes everything. I wish it’d happen more — all over MLB. Mays was good at it, but none better than Rickey Henderson.

Unless you are the Reds or Toronto, the white hats fucking suck. The old bird in the middle Balt hats too.

  4. willied said, on July 3, 2010 at 7:40 pm

I meant those hats as mentioned were cool…but these suck.

  5. Cal_Stim25 said, on July 3, 2010 at 7:43 pm

Snarkk just posts douchey troll comments.

  6. JBat said, on July 3, 2010 at 7:44 pm

These hats are as fugly as any I’ve seen.

At least Romo can still pitch.

  8. James said, on July 3, 2010 at 7:49 pm

Romo, the Fred Lewis of the bullpen. And their best reliever other than Wilson.

i have to start now with my breath-holding exercises for the ninth

    Huff Daddy!!!

  11. Jed said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:17 pm

    fuck yeah

  12. zumarust said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:17 pm

Man, Huff’s been doing his Kirk Gibson ’88 World Series homerun swing in this series.

  13. PawlieKokonuts said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:17 pm

    HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF !

  14. Macdog said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:17 pm

Muuuuuuuuuuch needed cushion. And just when I was thinking Huff’s been looking bad vs. lefties.

  15. willied said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:20 pm

Nice fucking shot…and great response too. Huff is a classic.
Sf showing some real cojones tonite…after Wilson came in, Rox fans put up a big cheer before Cargo stepped in, and it looked like Wilson said “STFU” as he walked around the mound.
Bone to the anti-Boch bashers—any coincidence all this happens after he leaves?

  16. alleykat said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:20 pm

Huff should be the Giants All star player rep. He’s the most deserving.

  17. Craig said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:23 pm

Anyone planning on killing themselves any time soon? Lose this game and there’s your best chance

  18. PawlieKokonuts said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:26 pm

Um, au contraire, Wilson’s the most deserving.

  19. willied said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:26 pm

I love that pitch, the fucking high hard one at 97…Wilson should do that more often.

  20. blade3colorado said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:27 pm

Well, that was a wild one . . . Ends the longest losing streak we’ve had since ’07.

  21. freshtodef80 said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:28 pm

    Yeeeeeaaaah Baby.

  22. alleykat said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:29 pm

Oh hell yes this Damn streak is over!!!! Open the Bar in Room B and start celebrating!

  23. PawlieKokonuts said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:29 pm

Giants win, Big Bang Theory remains intact, multiple suicides narrowly averted, all’s right with the world.

  24. willied said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:29 pm

And SF wins the battle of the pens.
Cain goes tmw, with split in full view.
Posey catches all of them…Romo was great.
Tough nite for all you guys with Ubaldo on your fantasy team.

  25. blade3colorado said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:31 pm

Willied, he is on my fantasy league team and fuck him and his Elway looking Mr. Ed horse he rode in on.

    • willied said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:37 pm

Tough break there, Mr. Blade. He’s had a pretty successful run for you so far, I’d imagine. Didn’t he give up 6 in a game a week ago?

Rox fans sounded like they wanted Corpas to actuallly be the “dead body in a murder case”.

  26. PawlieKokonuts said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:32 pm

Strange game, is baseball. Imagine trying to explain to, say, a World Cup devotee, how it is that Bautista gets the win.

  27. JBat said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:39 pm

I’ll be a motherfuckin’ monkey’s uncle. The one game the G’s should have lost, they won. What a relief to end that shitter of a losing streak. Everyone else in the division is winning too, but I’ll take this.

  28. Macdog said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:40 pm

Ding-dong, the streak is dead! Only caught the last 1.5 innings. I always seem to miss the crazy ones. Even with the humidor, no lead is safe in that damn place.

  29. willied said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:41 pm

I still don’t think Tracy is any great shakes as a mgr. What’s wrong with Smith that he doesn’t play? Hope they don’t dump an OF and acquire decent pitching help. Giants have made Helton look old and in the way.
Who did a better job of managing the game after starters left?

  30. blade3colorado said, on July 3, 2010 at 8:51 pm

Yeah Willied, he has not been the same pitcher his last 4 starts. The game you are referring to, I think he had a no-hitter going then he self-destructed for the 6 runs . . . same thing tonight. Like I said though, I could give a rat’s ass when he pitches like this against the Giants.

    BigFlav … not sure if you’ve had a 2-part “co-POTG” before, but this one is Ishi-Huff. (oh, btw… the coffee cup/May contest? 🙂 )

    Hey all,

for those of you who are late night guys like me… how can I get to the posts from the beginning? I got on just now, and only 6 posts starting at 8:32. I would like to see the posts from earlier. Can someone let me know how? Thanks…
