A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Dodgers….

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 19, 2010

Knowing we get to slide right into a series against our *supposed* greatest rival makes it a little easier to focus on that and not on yesterday. And yesterday would have been a little easier to stomach if we hadn’t already had that inspiring comeback in the 9th. Oh well, nothing you can do about that……

Krukow was on the radio this AM saying we’re catching the Dodgers at the right time— Broxton threw 43 pitchers yesterday, a bunch of their guys are hurt. I think that type of thinking is BS. It’s on US to play well for once against this team. The way we’ve been playing against them recently they could field their AAA team and still probably beat us……

Wouldn’t it have been hilarious if the umpire didn’t grant the run on the SF?

  2. alleykat said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:53 pm

No doubt about that Dennis.WTF was Torres doing? Another Panda brainfart.

  3. zumarust said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:53 pm

The run counts?!! Wow- what a weird rule.

  4. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:54 pm

Kelly has to say something more than, “where we going for drinks?”

  5. San Dog said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:54 pm

The radio guys blew the call and said the run didn’t score

  6. DaddyO said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:54 pm

a clean 8th would be nice

  7. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:55 pm

He crossed the plate way before Torres was doubled off 1st.

  8. delmardennis said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:55 pm

This bunch makes the Larry Kruger “brain-dead Caribbean hitters hacking at slop nightly” look like fucking Stephen fucking Hawking.

  9. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:56 pm

If Torres passed Renteria, then it wouldn’t count.

  10. snarkk said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:56 pm

Giants gotta be one of the dumbest baserunning teams in MLB. Either Torres was smoking cabbage in the dugout, Roberto Kelly didn’t tell him how many outs, or he did and Torres forgot within 5 seconds. How can you do that and be a MLB player? Unreal…

  11. sandy koufax said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:57 pm

    Affeldt has a wicked curve…when it’s ‘on’

  12. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 9:57 pm

    Well, maybe not ‘way’ . . .

    Eeeep.

  13. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:01 pm

    hey?

  14. delmardennis said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:02 pm

    From Baggs:

Did Velez pinch run for Torres and they forgot to announce it? Massive #facepalm there.

  15. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:02 pm

    NOW they talk?

  16. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:03 pm

  19. sandy koufax said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:03 pm

Has anyone else noticed the comcast commercials that talk shit on the Dodgers and the Giants owning them…BUT…they show Padres batters and pitchers???

  20. DaddyO said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:03 pm

Nice outing for Affeldt. We need that guy.

Buster was all over the hit batsman.

  21. Billy said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:03 pm

Wow, umps nearly blew that one too.

  22. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:03 pm

    facepalm?

    • delmardennis said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:10 pm

The act of dropping one’s face / forehead into one’s hand. Usually accompanied by a “thunk” or a cr a cry of “D’oh!” Usually written between asteriks in online conversation, to demonstrate an action. Similar to *headdesk*
Today I locked my keys in my car. Again. *facepalm*

      Ya mook!

  23. alleykat said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:04 pm

Nice correct call by the umps.Fuck besides they owe us a couple.

  24. zumarust said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:05 pm

He paints a face on his palm, and…..well, we don’t want to know.

  25. snarkk said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:05 pm

Affeldt’s strike 3 curve on Loney was his best clutch curve ball of the season. If that curve is back, it’s money…

  26. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:06 pm

Christ. Posey’s the smartest guy on the team.

  27. stixwiz said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:06 pm

It’s never easy with that Bullpen. But Affeldt only gave up a single to a dangerous batter and then clipped Bellyache. Jeremy seems to be back. Romo can be scary. Casilla is a wild man ~ who knows with him. Bautista is another scary one. Team priority should be a steady hand for the 7th, cause it looks like Affeld will generally be good as the setup man.

  28. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:07 pm

    And he’s the youngest.

  29. zumarust said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:07 pm

I know- it took all of about a month for Posey to become one of the team leaders.

    • sandy koufax said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:09 pm

      Less time than that…

  30. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:09 pm

Yeah, Affeldt seems to be coming back after some rough outings, to say the least.

They DO need Wellemeyer as a long reliever. These 3-4 pitcher innings have to stop.

  31. snarkk said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:09 pm

Gotta luv Posey. He must’ve told the home ump there is no way that pitch ends up in the stands off my glove, it had to hit Belliard after he swung….

  32. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:09 pm

    So, bye bye Bautista.

  33. alleykat said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:10 pm

Well actually Snarkk…Did you ketch the G-mag show the other day that told the story of Torres suffering from Attention Dysfunction syndrome.Maybe his meds wore off early tonight.

  34. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:12 pm

    Nice and easy, B-weezy . . .

  35. DaddyO said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:13 pm

a clean 9th would be great

  36. stixwiz said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:13 pm

Relatively slow night at the plate for Posey. Only one for four with a run scored and one batted in. Guess my expectations have become a bit high. Huff was the one with maybe the poorest night compared with his usual. Uribe was a bit turgid as well.

  37. delmardennis said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:15 pm

I’ve never much cared for Russell Nathan Jeanson Coltrane Martin, Jr.

    • sandy koufax said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:16 pm

That’s because he is French Canuckian

  38. delmardennis said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:18 pm

    Til tomorrow. Nite all.

  63. San Dog said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:28 pm

Great win. If Affeldt is “reverting to form” that is a huge added bonus.

  64. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:28 pm

Rox lost, back to 2nd place. Mets got pounded by AZ?

    Wow, they are fading . . .

    10 of 12 for the G’s . . . .

    Timmy tomorrow . . . yeah, baby . . .

  65. max808 said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:29 pm

How can anyone right thinking person love Casey Blake?

    Wilson deserves a freaking Emmy.

    • sandy koufax said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:31 pm

How can any ‘right thinking person’ stand Beachboy’s persona?

      • JBat said, on July 20, 2010 at 7:38 am

What persona is that? Warrior closer? I’ll take it. You can have Casey Fake.

  66. stixwiz said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:30 pm

Wheeeeeeeew. High drama again from Sarah Bernhardt, drama queen of the small screen.
Nailbiter for 4 innings running, but now we are up to .333 (10-20) vs. Division opponents.

Two things: Team still lacks that killer instinct against mediocre pitching. Don’t have any idea as to how to make it happen, but Giants need it. Secondly, a solid, steady reliever for the 7th is a virtual must. It should be the highest trade priority.

  67. delmardennis said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:30 pm

10-20 vs the West sure beats the hell outta 9-21.

  68. alleykat said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:30 pm

Drugs and Alcohol are stll not enough to watch this team.

  69. snarkk said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:30 pm

How many X has Wilson gotten a 1-2-3 ninth save? Twice this year? Sheesh, seems like that’s about it. Anyway, huge, huge win. Bumgarner did well, reminds me of Pettite, and that’s a good thing. Now they can relax and try to win the series. And put Torres back on his meds, Kat, please. Night all..

  70. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:33 pm

He did it in the all star game, snarkk.

  71. Unca Chuck said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:33 pm

    Persona, Sandy?

    This isn’t fucking Oprah . . .

  72. snarkk said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:35 pm

I saw that on highlights Chuck; doesn’t count. If it did, then it’s 3 for the season… 🙂

  73. sandy koufax said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:35 pm

Okay Chuck…I can’t stand fucking crossed arms point to the sky act…

    Fucking prima dona

  74. twinfan said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:40 pm

    Who won?

    • sandy koufax said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:41 pm

Good night TF…I see you’ve hit your funny bone again

  75. Macdog said, on July 19, 2010 at 10:46 pm

I guess it’s OK for Furcal to do all kinds of cross signs and point to the sky after hitting a HR, but god forbid Wilson does it after getting the final out. Fuck the Dodgers.
