A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Just for the FFFFFFFFFFF of it…….

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 23, 2010

I thought I’d throw up a new thread. Nothing to say. Baha. After almost nailing the score cold last night I thought I would again put in writing my bet (I never bet against the Giants but I almost always post when and what I do bet on their games): went with the under. I also did a 3 team parlay Giants/Mets/A’s. I’m awful at parlays but I play them anyways 🙂

So what’s the O/U on Dirrrrty’s strike out total tonight? I’ll say he gets 6……

twin, that’s a reasonable Top 5, but “Orange Uni’s” have have to edge in there, somewhere between 8-10.

  2. wswinb4igo said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:32 pm

    6/1 mets in the 8th

  3. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:36 pm

    Good job by Romo.

  4. stixwiz said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:40 pm

Wonder if the members of the BP aren’t all invested in some drug firm specializing in tranquilizers. Or maybe its a hardware firm dealing in tenterhooks.

  5. stixwiz said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:46 pm

Letting Romo bat? Means he likely starts the 8th. Hoping Bochy has a good read on this one.

  6. delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:46 pm

WTF is Romo batting? Does this say something about Bochy’s confidence in the other guys or what?

Get another goddamn arm! Fucking ridiculous allowing Romo to hit in this situation. I don’t care if someone is hurt down in the pen. Horsemotherfuckingshit letting Romo hit. Pathetic is what it is, truly pathetic.

  7. delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:48 pm

Fucking goddamn disgrace letting Romo hit in that situation. If Bochy doesn’t have any confidence in those others guys that he had to let Romo hit, Sabean should be fired tonight. Fuck this.

  8. delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:49 pm

We blow this shit, heads must roll. Period.

  9. delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:52 pm

I don’t a flying fuck if JA is hurt, I’m sorry it happened, but that doesn’t excuse what just happened.
WTF aren’t K&K calling this shit out? Horseshit!

  10. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:57 pm

    Easy Dennis. 😀

    • delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:00 pm

Am I the only one outraged by what happened? If I’m out of line, please tell me. Maybe I missed something. Have many times in the past, but I just don’t see how you can allow Romo to hit there.

  11. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 9:59 pm

What you are saying is total idiocy, Dennis. Not partial. Not 90 percent,. TOTAL idiocy.

  12. wswinb4igo said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:02 pm

Dennis, wanted to PH and then go to Mota?

    • delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:06 pm

In a word, yes. If Bochy has NO faith in the other guys in that situation with the game still in balance, I have a problem. If it’s Wilson already in , fine. But up only 2 with 2 on. Sorry.

  13. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:02 pm

“Am I the only one outraged by what happened? ” Hope so.

  14. wswinb4igo said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:07 pm

    AH..that’s better

  15. delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:08 pm

Sorry everyone else was fine with Romo hitting?

  16. DJLoo said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:10 pm

No, I called the suicide hotline.

  17. Billy said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:11 pm

I suppose sticking with romo meant trying to keep a couple fresh arms in the bullpen for tomorrow as they want to limits mumgarners pitch count… although maybe I’m just over thinking this move.

  18. alleykat said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:11 pm

Shit great.Panda’s stance now is so fucked up.He will be wearing more devices then Rene Russo in Tin Cup.

  19. Macdog said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:12 pm

At least they’re not limiting Romo’s innings.

    • delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:21 pm

      Well put.

  20. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:15 pm

Affeldt seemed to be hurt, leaving them with Bautista, Mota, Wilson. With 2 out and a 2 run lead, letting Romo hit was an EZ EZ call…
LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~! Where the fuck you been?

  21. DJLoo said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:16 pm

This inning is longer than the French-Indian war.

  22. DJLoo said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:18 pm

Hi, Twin. Happy to see you.

  23. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:20 pm

No happier than I am to see you, Mr. Loo. I was worried about you.

  24. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:23 pm

Whether that guy was on first or third meant nothing, Nate had to dive for that.

  25. wswinb4igo said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:26 pm

    Congrats…what a grinder

  26. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:27 pm

    Willie!

  27. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:29 pm

Yeesh. 3 hours 45 minutes. Grinder is right.

  28. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:30 pm

Hey, we’re over .500 on the road! 😀

  29. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:34 pm

I didn’t realize Kelly Johnson had hit for the cycle. Congrats to him.

  30. James said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:35 pm

A new stupid cliche in the making: “keeping the defense out there too long.”

  31. stixwiz said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:36 pm

So what’s with Affeldt being hurt? First i heard about it. DL type hurt, or more of an owwie? Wildman Casilla was a bit much tonight. I’d say his leash is getting short.

Good things about the night is that we did win and are pacing the Dagos at 3 out while the Rox and LaBumbos keep slipping and sliding. Also, now with third best record in the league (actually tied with St. L) behind only the Braves and the Pads. Also in the current road-trip the team has gone into the win-column on the road (by one game) and has improved from 9-20 vs the division to an almost mediocre 13-21. From horrendous to almost mediocre in 5 games ain’t bad.

Mr. Loo, send me an Emauil and we can fill each other in:

No one here gives a fuck about A-Rod’s pending 600th. I think Mays’ 600th was as a PH for George Foster.

  34. mrmrbill said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:38 pm

13 W over last 16. Not much to bitch about. Even w/ Nate and Eli batting back-to-back tonight — between the two of the them, they squeaked out .250 (2 fer 8). 😀

  35. DJLoo said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:41 pm

    I will tomorrow, Twin…

  36. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:42 pm

ESPN is fucking creaming themselves over AFraud’s pending 600th. Honestly, who outside of NYC gives a flying rusty fuck?

  37. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:43 pm

They contributed to the win. Not every contribution is a two run jack or a 3 hit night. A huge part of what makes a champion are those supposedly inconsequential contributions.

    • mrmrbill said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:49 pm

agreed, Twin! (and likewise, now you gotta put “Orange Uni’s” somewhere in your Top 10 … they’re 8-0 … better than some pitchers we have)

  38. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:44 pm

I didn’t mean this second, Loo. Tomorrow is just fine.

  39. DJLoo said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:44 pm

    I SAID NO ONE, DAMMIT!!!
And I was just in a bar fulll of alleged Yankee fans.

    • JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:59 pm

      My condolences. 😀

  40. Billy said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:48 pm

Anyone take a gander at the Pad’s schedule for August? 19 road games. ouch. That could get taxing.

  41. delmardennis said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:52 pm

    From Baggs:
Jeremy Affeldt felt discomfort in side while warming up. Shut it down. Might have tests, Bochy hopes just day2day thing.

Sorry if I went over the ledge on the Romo thing guys. Don’t know what got over me. Can I blame Wellemeyer?

  42. ferrethead said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:55 pm

I’m not trying to start anything, but Travis – God? Really? I mean, I’m glad if praying helped him get his head on straight, but yeesh, can’t he keep this stuff to himself? I never EVER hear anybody blame the big guy when they screw up…

    BTW – Woo-Hoo!!!

  43. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 10:57 pm

Speaking of Wellemeyer, you could still be lookng at him AND Bumgarner, and not rotating. The interesting thing going on with Dirrrrty is that he’s not hurting his trade value but he’s not exactly making himself a “must keep” either. He could still go by the break…

  44. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 11:00 pm

No apologies Dennis. The G’s won!

  45. twinfan said, on July 23, 2010 at 11:01 pm

Oh, I forgot: I had the over, 10 Ks for Dirty, both Huff dingers, and Johnson’s cycle. I’m tryng to figger out how many millions I won. We’re rich, Ferret!

    • ferrethead said, on July 23, 2010 at 11:53 pm

Twinnie – thank God! (tee-hee) Seriously, though – I didn’t know how long I was going to be able to live on love alone…

I was thinking of you the other morning – I was trying out a recipe for ‘fluffy, fruit filled pancakes’. Can you guess what the secret ingredient is?

  46. JBat said, on July 23, 2010 at 11:04 pm

I was thinking along those lines too, Twin. Tonight’s effort was a perfect example: 10 K’s through 5 IP, but 5 BB and 109 pitches. Yikes.

  47. zumarust said, on July 24, 2010 at 1:36 am

Do you or do you not know that the bird is the word?

  48. bigflavor said, on July 24, 2010 at 4:24 am

Zumie I have no idea what possessed you to post something here at 1:36am but you and all the flappers should know that there is no wrong time to post a Family Guy clip. 🙂 🙂 🙂

    Love that song, Zoom.

    Up there with Wipe Out.

Caught the Ventures about 10 years ago. Quite the fun show. . .
