Splash used to be a real hoot, featuring epic battles btw flav and TF, etc and of course some epic characters, like Hangman and his “chicken ranch”. It’s unfortunate that as the quality of the team has improved so much from the Benitez/Castillo days, management (the real culprits) has allowed quality of the blog to deteriorate so much. Looking at a page with 6 inanities from Soph on it…man, I’ve already destroyed more than enough brain cells.

Buddy of mine a month ago brought up same thought as Snarrk, about finding a less physically demanding spot for Posey. I am just so amazed at what he has brought to handling of the PS in general that I’d be inclined to disagree. He seems to bring out the best of the wildmen and after a conference is able to get them to throw the right pitch in the right spot to get out of whatever jam they have put themselves into.

It worked for Sanchez the other night too, in trouble but ultimately able to work out of it. Yesterday was just great to watch pitch sequence to LaRoche with game on the line vs. Lincecum (get ahead with two breaking balls and then enough fastball that he couldn’t do enough with it), and then next inning with Romo. Cain and Zito have also had excellent starts with him behind the plate, plus Bum.

His hitting is bound to drop off at some point, but helping out the PS is just invaluable asset that should be there 24/7….all the way to October.
