A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Bad Pitching + Bad hitting = Bad Combo

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 19, 2010

They’ve hit 4 bombs in the last 2 games, that’s nice. But that’s not enough. Way too many “1-4,0-4’s” in the boxscores. And our pitching has come up ant-small so far. Dirrrrty may or may not need to pitch a pearl today–the way he’s been pitching I’d expect a line like 5.1inn/4ER/4BB/7K.  Bottom line is, regardless of what Dirrrrty does, we need to HIT the baseball. For hits. Lots of them. Ducks on the pond. Clutch hits. All that jazz….

This has been a horrendous 2 game swing, every facet of the game has been worthy of averting your eyes. But it’s 2 freaking games out of 162. The team isn’t trippin’ on it, you guys shouldn’t either. Join Denny on the ledge if you must, but don’t jump. Yet….

Who gave you grief? June archives are available, so be careful.

In his postgame interview, Bochy credited Rowand for his PowerPoint dugout presentation on Hamels following his first inning strikeout.

      Now that’s funny.

Bochy: “Listen up, Rowie’s got something to say”
Rowie: “Thanks Boch, boy’s, you got look out for the deceptive pitch down the middle, it’ll catch you by surprise. As you can see in my pie chart it’s best not to let any of the first 2 pitches go by. Better off swingin and missin than getting caught watchin. Have more patience when your down 0-2 since you are throwin the deception back at the pitcher”
Bochy: :”That’s right, that Colie and the other starters in this league can get you off balance”
Gerald: “But Boch, what about going to right?”
Bochy: “Until you learn to catch at this level, leave the coachin to Rowie and me.”

You can cut the “Cathy” crap, whateverthehell that is, or not. That’s Splash talk. I don’t pretend to understand it, so whatever. You won’t get me into serial pissing fits like Gringo. I’m happy the Giants won. Really. I’m as much a fan as anyone else here. I don’t find a rainbow in every squall, that’s all. Onto St. Louis, maybe they can pick up 2 of 3 and even out the trip. Au revoir and out for the evening…

Your anger and disdain for others is very palpable in your posts. I assume and hope it is feigned for effect…

  7. Michael said, on August 19, 2010 at 7:41 pm

With Jediot suddenly prolific, Snarkklefuck, Loo, Denny, Kat, Gringo, it’s become overbearingly negative. When the negativity is rampant after 3 first inning runs, it’s totally out of control. Wins at least used to make for enjoyable talk here. Really total bullshit, boys.

    • pickledgringo said, on August 19, 2010 at 7:47 pm

That’s rich, you ever read your own posts?

Talk baseball intelligently and I’m the easiest guy to get along with.

  8. Michael said, on August 19, 2010 at 7:44 pm

Not to mention intentional lying about what I post. I’d like to say that nuance was missed but the misrepresentation comes from people who really do know better. There is no argument whatsoever that what I ACTUALLY posted about Rowand’s first AB is true. Distorting it for sophmoric comedic effect is juvenile.

    • delmardennis said, on August 19, 2010 at 8:04 pm

Yeah, that 7-pitch strikeout AB from Rowand really tired out Hamels and caused him to throw meatballs to the runt, Jesus, walk the Bat, followed by more cripples to Guillen and Juan. That 7-pitch AB from Rowand allowed all those guys to see Hamels pitches. Jesus H. Christ, you and Chuckles coulda have seen that shit Let’s make Rowand POTG for his 0-4 2 K night while we’re at it.

If Rowand Ks on 6 pitches do we still score 3? How ’bout 5 pitches? 4? What’s the cutoff?
Rowand whiffs on a 3-2 change 18″ off the plate on the 7th pitch and you wanna give him a parade.
Alex just hit Gore for 12 yds. and a first. dn. MVP!

  9. delmardennis said, on August 19, 2010 at 7:47 pm

From Matt barrows: Smith having a strong practice. Just hooked with Ginn for 45 yrads and Walker for another big gain. Going against 3rd team D, however …

I can neither confirm nor deny, but it’s believed Rowand, Ishikawa, Shitholtz and a little runt comprised the secondary.

    Touchdown Alex!

  10. Michael said, on August 19, 2010 at 7:47 pm

It was a good ballgame and Rowand/Sandoval both contributed to the win. Like it or not.

Twin claims “Juvenile” when he can’t go one post without calling someone a fuck or a womans name or some other idiotic insult that no one thinks is clever or funny.

    Will this get deleted?

    • Michael said, on August 19, 2010 at 8:00 pm

Why would it get deleted? Flavor isn’t on my payroll. And I can’t delete posts. I’m just another schmuck like you guys. Complain to Daddy.

“If I insulted you, you earned it.”

I believe that badge comes right after learning how to tie a square knot when becoming an Eagle Scout.

  14. pickledgringo said, on August 19, 2010 at 8:13 pm

I guess my question is why in the hell would we all invest time reading and sifting through the comments of everyone in here, and further, offering some back if we didn’t care about the team? The whole ‘you don’t care about the Giants, you just think they suck.’ is so fucking stupid. There are trolls, no doubt, but I don’t think anyone in here fits that bill and to be called such is asinine.

I think it’s more about ‘blog ego’ than anything in most cases.

  15. Michael said, on August 19, 2010 at 8:20 pm

In unrelated sports news, new KC Royal’s manager Bob “Goober” Slobotnik benched all his switch hitters because a tough lefty was going…

  16. Michael said, on August 19, 2010 at 8:23 pm

“he looked guilty from the time he walked in to it.” That oughta get you out of THAT jury.

  17. Michael said, on August 19, 2010 at 8:42 pm

Well, it’s clear enough where this blog is headed and I once again have bigger fish to fry so I’ll leave this to you folks. Try to enjoy the victories, they are few and far between ofttimes. I’ll add in parting that ornery fucks are the people who beat this shit. See ya.

  18. delmardennis said, on August 19, 2010 at 8:45 pm

Tonight’s A’s attendance (10,118) came across the wire and piqued my interest enough to flip on their game vs the Rays for a sec to check it’s validity. If there are more than 2,999 actually butts in the seats, I’ll declare Rowand’s first inning 7-pitch AB as the second most important/memorable Giants moment only to Bobby Thomson’s “Shot Heard Round the World.” I think I’ll dub it, “The K Heard Round only at TF’s Place.”

Alex Smith’s 25 yd completion to Josh Morgan was negated by a delay of game penalty.
Cause: A 63 yo male Napa County resident was seen pestering Alex for an autograph.
Alex being the kind gentlemen that he is, obliged the autograph seeker in hopes of avoiding any incident. Word is that he was overheard saying, “my book is almost complete. Anyone know if Rowand only signs flat objects?”

Insult me in absentia and I won’t go away, Birther. A word to the wise…

  20. delmardennis said, on August 19, 2010 at 8:52 pm

Jesus H. Trent motherfucking Edwards and the Bills first team offense has put 21 pts. on the same Colts defense that Alex Smith and the Niners faced just last Sunday. Hmmm. Paging Mr. O’Sullivan, Mr. J.T. O’Sullivan Red 49er courtesy phone.

“Preseason”, I meant. I’m out. Birther: be careful with threats on our CIC. They are not taken lightly, even on blogs.

    • delmardennis said, on August 19, 2010 at 9:15 pm

If you insist with the birther connotation, I’d much prefer to be called a Tea Bagger if ya please.
There’s just something about that name where I can see earning a merit badge would be involved.
“Dennis, upon watching Alex Smith suck for six years, we here at the Tea Baggers Society of America do officially dub you, Sir Dennis, Tea Bagger First Class.

“Every time a bell rings a Tea Bagger gets its Wings.” It’s a Wonderful Life indeed.

Saw the last couple of innings. Glad I did. Nothing like being in the race. St. Louis can’t be happy about hosting this Giants team headed into town with some new momentum. Fucking cowtown. (That slur makes no sense at all, of course. All the cattle headed north went through KC. But . . . .)

  26. Nipper said, on August 19, 2010 at 9:49 pm

That was quite a showdown near the end of the game- Romo vs. Werth. Wolfman Jack vs. the Werewolf of London. Or it was like two lost mountain men had staggered out of the forest after being lost for days, and found themselves in the middle of a baseball game somehow.

and the best part about the Clemens testimony is that he begged to do it, he literally forced his way in there. I love it. Barry is a lying fuck but he’s OUR lying fuck and he did it better and smarter than anyone. All the rest of these chumps didn’t have a clue in the world about how to explain this or themselves to the world. I think the moral of the story is that if you’re going to be trying to explain yourself either tell the truth or STFU. Half-assed poser productions to the media don’t work. Ask Tiger and ARod how that shit goes over…….

I’ve had a massive flare up of what’s called “Peripheral Neuropathy”. It is caused by the chemotherapy from last summer. Some people get it, some don’t, no clue as to the whys and wherefores, really. I had it for awhile, mildly, just some minor numbness. But now I can’t walk again and it’s extremely painful 24/7. After everything else, more than I can bear. My daughter will be here next week and we’ll discuss options, probably go down to UCSF again, I don’t know for sure. It could go away in months, weeks, never. It’s just very hard right now, sleep only comes after total exhaustion. My cures are killing me…

    • TedSpe said, on August 20, 2010 at 9:21 pm

Michael. There are no words. Do you have to wait until your daughter arrives? Can’t you do something *now*? I’m not completely unfamiliar with folks with cancer. Last year I spent my entire vacation driving my sister back and forth for both radiation and chemo. Thank God she’s okay today.
You know, it’s weird. You and I don’t really know each other. It’s just this stupid “blog” thing>
But, despite this stupid “blog thing, which actually started on LSalles’s blog I think of you as a friend. I reallyreally am concerned.
I don’t know how I can help but if there’s a way please let me know.
Take care my friend. In a strange kind of 21st century weird way, I do consider you friend.
Please keep me apprised ans “seriously!! Let me know if there’s anything at all I can do to help. Flav has my email.
I’d put it here but I’d probably get nasty shit from barryforger, fishfuck and that tranny that that san jose’s got the hots for
      😉
Take care and if possible please let me know

  32. Michael said, on August 20, 2010 at 9:32 pm

    Thank you…
I’m doing what I can do with meds right now. One has to be careful though,I never realized how easily you an forget how much you took. At least I don’t drink anymore, liquor is the “sleeper”.
I hate it because I’ve had two straight clean scans, I have no cancer right now. I’m supposed to be laughing. Now this. But as I said last night and my doctors confirm: it’s the contrary fuckwads like me who do best. I’m going to lay down, take care, Ted. Thanks again…

Sweet twinnie – As always, you are in my thoughts. It must be emotionally draining on top of what your poor body has been through. You’re right, though, I believe that you are too ornery to do anything but fight! There is a lot of love in this world for you, draw from that and I hope it will give you just that little bit more strength you need.

    • EdGdsnInExile said, on August 21, 2010 at 10:33 am

Hang in there, Twin. Pulling for you.

  33. TedSpe said, on August 20, 2010 at 9:54 pm

Wow. Giving up liquor to avoid THE BIG SLEEP (and by the way, your writing reminds me of Chandler) is something I’m not sure I could do. But..I’m not walking in your floresheims.
    Well..you’re a completely contrarion fuckwad.
Luv ya twin. Goodnight. And as long as you can…let the mindless assholes know they’re mindless. But, just a suggestion? Give them all hope they will some days grow minds.
    Goodnight, gentleman (question mark)

Jesus H., TF. I’m sorry to hear that. I kind of had a feeling something might be amiss when ya didn’t post for a couple of days. I can relate somewhat myself with what you’re going through. I suffer from alcoholic neuropathy. Certainly not to your extent, but I can attest to the tingling and numbness. What started out in the feet and legs, has now reached my back and neck. My recent X-rays revealed a compession fracture, and I’m awaiting an MRI to see if it’s just from my kyphosis (Hunchback of Notre Dame) or something more. Trying to get an MRI can be like pulling teeth. In the meantime, it’s more Gabapentin, Baclofen, Hydrocodone and every OTC NSAIDs that I can find. Anyways, enough about me. Hang in there like our Giants and their playoff aspirations. We still got six weeks and hopefully a whole helluva lot more to go. I’m still gonna bash Bochy’s lineup’s, so I’ll be expecting your “listen DelWad, you stoopid Birther. You’re the biggest Nervous Nelly fan ever…” Take care.
