Well, I’m down but proud of these boys. Not gonna indulge in fruitless second-guessing except to say: if Don Taussig is still alive, we need to somehow get him to remove the Don Taussig Curse. (In ’58, Taussig made the last out against the Pirates in a nine-run ninth; we lost to the Pirates 11-10. It’s not like it burned a hole in my brain or anything. Naw.)
As exciting as it was, Bumgarner’s earned runs and the 5 (looked more like 7) errors…the Giants lost this one just as much as the Reds won it. If you know what I mean
I had to go out for the afternoon when it was 8-1. I came back to find the game still going, 11-11 and Zito taking the mound. I guess I missed a bit. Anyway, I have little clue of the transpirations in between, except some excerpts from Miller on the post game. Whatever happened, I give the Boys credit for what must’ve been a hellacious comeback and some “Magic inside”. How/Why Zito was brought in to hold I dunno, but I do know I thought immediately there was no way he would get out of the inning without giving up something. Gawd I wish there were a way to rid the team of him. Shame a great comeback had to be put on the line with him on the mound, but yes, he wasn’t the only culprit in the Reds getting 12. Anyway, 2 of 3 from the Reds ain’t bad at all. They are good, and hit like fiends. Onward to the Dbacks, need a sweep of those tools…
Max: Two great pieces of news (for me, anyway) in your 9:09. Belt being promoted and his 20th HR spanning 3 teams and that in his first year of organized ball. Way he’s been hitting in the pitching-tough Eastern league, it does not surprise me that he’s socking em from the get-go in AAA. If there are any doomers out there who do not believe that he’ll be the starting first baseman in SF by this time next season (barring an injury or something similar) i’d be willing to put up some shekels.
Brandon’s on the fast conveyor-belt now. End of the PCL season should see him with one more promotion on the year: Cuppa Coffee at The Show.
Michael, my friend, did you really think they’d understand Vichy Government? Sure, they can “wiki” it but still…did you think they’d understand? I mean, they could at least watch CASABLANCA but still…
Renault: I am shocked. SHOCKED!!..to discover there’s gambling here!!
Croupier: Your winnings, sir
Renault: Oh, thank you
hullo zeeba neighba
I know Stephen Pastis, and sir, you’re no Stephen Pastis.
“Stephan” I didn’t say I knew him well.
More of a passing acquaintance
This ain’t going to the 12th.
It’ can’t go much further. We’re out of pitchers
Who’s the idiot that was espousing the idea that we should only carry 11 pitchers?
Yeah. It was like an obsession with that guy.. D..D… D something
I agree Twin – lets do this thing now.
Thanks for the new thread.
Does anybody know why Franchez is out. Was it a double switch or an injury I missed?
DS
Multiple switch when Nate PH in the 6th, I believe. Nate, Fontenot in, Burrell, Sanchez out.
Jose be a hero
Just get on for Panda.
So much for that. Now: Let us all pray…
Guillen’s sure got a quick bat. Reminds me of Moises Alou.
I don’t know about you all, but I’m thinking of an OSF special of gin and chocolate.
Kidding, just kidding.
make mine a double, please
Shit . . . Zito?
Best choice
Outs please Zito.
Whoever had Barry Zito in the 12th with a candlestick, need not get a CLUE.
I haven’t smoked or drank in a while. Might try both at once.
Understood.
Damn it ZIto!
Walk the bases full .,…
Fuck. Not good, Bubbles . . .
Unbelievable! One more.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOO-RE-BAY
Credit Zito for not giving in.
He gave in.
“Best drop another chum marker chief.”
Fuck him and his unicorns.
YOU CANNOT PETITION THE LORD WITH PRAYER!!!
He was another one in need of a haircut.
Need two. Ump will be squeezing, time for the bottom of the order to that magic that they do.
I’ll be home later tonight and review the violations then. Not near computer today and on I80 now
I think Whiteside was the better choice to pitch the 12th.
Win or lose, I wish I had been able to watch this game. What a great one!
Yes
Great. Still time to hire an attorney.
Shit, slmost got out of that,
Are you the lizard king, DJ?
Alright Ross, time to make some friends on your new club…
Now it’s down to Fontenot. Pablo on base and a waiver wire special at the plate. “Our fucking troubles are over, Dude.”
the strike zone is a joke…
How bout a WP?
brutal
tough loss after down like that nice game Giants.
And umpiring behind the plate, Chad Cordero, Sr…
what a game.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Great comeback that fell short. What a fucking game.
Twin, I’ll do a bit of drinking and smoking for you.

Philly and St. Louis behind.

Flav, sent you an E-mail regarding today’s happenings.
TF, when’s the deadline for your contest again? I need to put the numbers through my horseshiticulator one more time.
Friday 3 P.M.
Geez, dennis, take notes
Helluva series.
One of baseball’s two extremes. Slugfests and no/low hitters. Love ’em both

Go to the last thread if you’re interested in some nice info on a “Man not named Red”

Referencing the post on the last thread: embezzlement is the best guess.
Houston up 1, going to bottom of 9th. Polanco, Utley, Werth. Lyon pitching.
Excuse me: Utley, Werth, Sweeney.
Howard pinch hitting, 2 down.
It’s over, still tied for the WC.
‘Stros do it again!
Stros win! But that doesn’t really concern me, I no not what you speak when you say, “W _ _ _ C _ _ _ .”
St. Louis also goes down. This is what I meant about not taking bottom feeders lightly.
Bottom feeders?
No one takes Dennis lightly . . .
Get your fucking pick in ,Chuck.
I have until Friday, right?
Yeah.

GET IT IN SLACKER

Yeah, I over estimated, perhaps. Funny though, the guy is either really really freaked out or doing a good schtick pretending to be.
Too close to call
