A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

No Excuses

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 19, 2010

Today, I don’t want to hear about Zito’s Law, or lack of run support, or how much money he makes, or the fact that he’s 112-0 when the team scores 16 runs for him or whatever.  Somehow the Giants just need to go out and figure out how to get a win despite who’s on the mound…..

Terribly managed pen by Tracy.NINE oitchers and it was only the 11th. No way you should be down to the monstrosity Delcarmen that early.

Well, I’ll own up: Nate, Velez, Rohlinger. That was sure the answer. All the same, a fine Sunday (plus two nice naps). Feeling better. I tellya: over the years Sundays are pretty good for the Giants. Pretty sure of it.

Had a feeling Zito would be okay today. Who would have picked Guillen for SIX rbis? Twin’s been reminding us that he’s hit well lately, but like the dude said ,”guess i’m a Giant now”.

Bochy is running that PS like a well-oiled machine, saving on his starters and letting the excellent BP keep themselves stretched out and available. If the hitters could remain in the Dr. Jekyll mode through the road trip, it could get pleasant.

This was the must win game. Been quite a few that have been virtual musts, but this one featured our $135M man as the stopper. Did his job today, anyway. Probably earned at least a clean million, maybe two if we image him being paid on the basis of performance alone. This will also take some of that potential innings pressure off Bumgarner, even though the kid is pretty much a horse. Another Southern countryboy like Cain, built for the long haul.

So with Zito winning today we can say we got us a Rotation. Batters should do fine at Wrigley against that Cubbies PS. Performance at the Box of Rox will depend on who is pitching for Colorado and how tightly the umpires monitor the humidor.

    The “Anti-POTD”:
“bochy only goes with “track record” guys if he’s got them.it’s a little frustrating, I’d like to see Nate or velez or both in there today…”
    The TRUE POTD:
“Velez and Nate for Burrell and Guillen? Genius..”
Flavor: send me an Email and please tell me I didn’t marry Nipper a couple years ago…

I’m (humorously) freaked about Nip and Ferret posting Woo-Hoos a minute apart on the Splash and here. Even after 5 wives, I was not ready for the Nipper as number 6..

I realize there are way too many ED commercials on during sports, but how can you run one for Viagra and talk about that shit while you’ve got a Howlin Wolf record playing in the background ? Not sure the exact cut….maybe “smokestack lightning”?

Part of the genre, now. Started with Muddy Waters “I’m Ready” a couple of years ago. I presume some gradual student in literature somewhere has included an exegesis of ED soundtracks in his/her doctoral dissertation on cross-cultural etc etc

Beautiful day for some ballgames…Must admit it felt great to cheer the dodgers win with the home team crowd for a change…They won it despite the early deficit which had me down…they won it despite baby hueys attempt to lose…Congrats on our huge win, Zits for getting off his schnied, and to Guillen on a rbi binge.

That first inning could have been the inning of the year. Ross robbed, bases loaded, two outs. If Guillen makes an out it could easily have become a totally different day. And my goodness, what a bomb…

Thanks twin/michael. And for those of you who don’t quite understand this computer talk, allow me to try to help you out:

      汉语/漢語, 华语/華語 or 中文

      Okay. We good?

    • Michael said, on September 19, 2010 at 10:21 pm

Translated a bit: it’s a small form unit so it will fit nicely as part of your entertainment center. The processor has two “cores”, meaning you can multitask just like Soph!!! 4GB memory: that’s a lot. 1 Terabyte Hard Drive: real big.

Snarkk, you’ve never entered. Look, you know you could have it shipped to a friend and you’d have it when you get out.
