A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Do you believe?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 27, 2010

Off day today but still a HUGE day for the Giants. If Z and the Cubs can beat the Padres we go 1 game up, lose and we’re obviously tied. Yesterday got us to 88 games, a watershed number over the last 4 years. 88! 74! 88! 74! Ha, those were fun exchanges back then, weren’t they?

And then as we all know, last year I nailed the win total cold with that golden number of…88. It’s been a while since I brought that up.

With 6 games to go I am dead-confident that I will miss my season win total prediction of 90 that I posted on Opening Day. No problem with that at all.

This team has developed and proven to have a resiliency that winning teams have to have beyond a bunch of stats and fantasy numbers. That resiliency is why I believe in this team. I believe in the GM. I believe in the manager. I believe in Raggs and Bam Bam. I believe in Torres and Huff and Uribe and Burrell—-4 players that no other team wanted last Winter. And if I don’t believe in jinxes I don’t believe in made-up laws so yes, I believe in Barry Zito. And I don’t *believe* we are going to win the West. I’m certain of it……

Cubs are flailing it. No wonder their record is so miserable.

I did not realize but was this the 10th road victory in a row by the Cubs???

That gives me hope they may take two of the remaining three in SD…go Cubs!!!!

Could we get to two up by Friday????

Never a doubt.Just your Basic Marmol/Wilson ending.Shit should have been 3 up 3 down though if Castro cuts off DeWitt and throws out Toro.

22,000 packed into the DogBowl to see that big loss for the Patsies. So that’s why they don’t have the payroll for a real pinch hitter when they need one?

    Too bad 🙂

No it was the 7th straight road win GH.But there playing great ball overall this month.like their chances for possibly 3 in this series.

thanks Kat, I was flipping between that game and MNF…still very encouraging! Let’s clinch Friday and rest Cain and Sanchez over the weekend!

good night good men until a Jonathan Sanchez domination tomorrow night where a real baseball crowd will show up for a Penent Chase rather than what they call fans in San Diego or Atlanta!

    Giants Rock
    (doo dah..doo dah)

    Goodnight, gentlemen (question mark)

  22. Michael said, on September 27, 2010 at 9:58 pm

That was Marmol. Probably close to what you’d get with Castilla closing.

  23. Michael said, on September 27, 2010 at 10:03 pm

Marmol is not even close to Wilson. Give it a break, Kat Shit. 50 walks in 70+ innings. As I just said, Casilla is a decent comparison.
I’ll say this though: Black deserves MOY with that motley crew. Hundley was the best he had with his season maybe on the line? Great job by Bud, Bochy Lite…

Bochy Lite? I guess we already know the answer as to if that beer tastes great or is less filling.

I made a note in the last thread again.

NFL headcoaches hate to consider this- sometimes the right strategy is to let the other team score a touchdown, so you can get the ball back with enough time to tie the game. I wonder if the idea even crossed the Green Bay coach’s mind.

  27. Unca Chuck said, on September 28, 2010 at 9:39 am

Holmgren lost a Super Bowl with Green Bay that way.

  28. Unca Chuck said, on September 28, 2010 at 9:44 am

    Good luck, Mike.

    We’re all thinking good thoughts . . . .

The doctor is changing the pain medication, prescribing an antidepressant (amitriptyline) that is used also for neuropathy, retaining the TENS unit, and also sending me to an acupuncturist. The other options are so drastic this is what we’re trying on third and 110…

  30. delmardennis said, on September 28, 2010 at 4:42 pm

I hope the new meds work out for ya. No more Neurontin? I think I’m taking enough for the both of us, 600 mg 3x/day. And I don’t follow instructions too well. Hope you never have to face a 3rd and 110 decision. But if it comes to that, you might want to consult Jimmy Raye. Seems like a good down and distance for the fishing hat. Be well.
