Voggy Going for the Sweep
I didn’t see the game, I was busy playing softball getting the be-jesus kicked out of us. I read at Baggs blog that Hall is exited to have found a mechanical issue in his swing that he thinks will yield new results. Hey, I guess it’s possible. The dude has really only had one good year and I just assumed that was a *steroid* year. But if BamBam has found a flaw and he corrects it, then we could be looking at “Burrell 2011”. I am in a wait and see mode on this, though…….
The Snakes are who I thought they were: decent team, nothing to be afraid of, though. They are in pretty big doo-doo if Putz’ back stays balky. He’s been lights out this year but not last night. When Eli Whiteside is driving the ball you might not be pitching at your physical peak….
Read that Baggs thinks Cervelli would cost a “Wheeler or more”. That is absurd and I refuse to believe it. Maybe Runzler but I bet you could get away with 2 B-grade lefties from the farm system–Hinshaw and ? It just CANNOT be this hard to find a serviceable catcher and if it is then it was idiotic to not find a competent back up back stop last Winter……..
Major power outage for Andres this year…
Bizarre to pick on him over and over, Loo-weinie. It’s now Pablo-Ross-Burrell-Torres top 4 in OPS. Problem now is SS and C hitting, Torres is zero problem.
I might have to post Pawlie rockin’ the orange and black shades. It’s pure gold, baby….
Yes, please do. It’ll be tonight’s winner.
FUCK
What a pisser.
As soon as Flemming said ‘Upton can end a game with one swing’, or somesuch, I thought ‘that’s probably not a good thing to say right here. So close to a sweep. Let’s go beat on the A’s!
like the way they hung in there, fought back…I’ll take winning 2 of 3 on the road anytime.
Whatever. They played it close and won the series. Fuck it.
Are they still in 1st place.
Upton is a great young player. This doesn’t bum me at all. Another series win.
They need either a SS or catcher hitting. Doesn’t have to be both..,
Bip, you fucking moron., Pat didn’t hit for Nate, he hit for the pitcher.
I’ll try to be a grown up about it, but FUCK!!!
Hope they spank the A’s this weekend – should be a friendly crowd. ;-D
Chances are Bochy will think twice before running Casilla out for a second consecutive inning in the future. Some relievers can go two effectively enough, as we saw with Affeldt this evening. I kinda felt that longball coming. In fact, my intuition before any runs had been scored was that SF was not fated to win this one.
But we did take the series from what had been a very hot Az. team and held them to a mere handful of runs, with the only ones they got in these last two games coming by way of the long-ball. Giants pitching was so effective that the Snakes could not put together a scoring drive with singles, doubles and walks. No rallies. NO blowout.
Kennedy is clearly the ace of Arizona’s staff and a good pitcher withal. Though he had the higher pitch count, Vogelsong held his own vs their best guy and except for that one pitch which left the park, they could barely touch him. I was delighted that Giants hitters combined to pull Ryan off the hook. A couple more quality outings like this one and Big Bruce may very well name him to his A.S. team. What a story that would be for a guy who had been as far down as the Little Birdie that Could. Another aspect of this game was that Bochy was able to rest Ramirez, Romo, Lopez and Wilson. With the quality of their pitching staff, the A’s may be hard to score against. With the key elements of the BP getting a bit of time off, Giants should be in good shape should they face long, tight games across the Bay.
Tonight’s game was not a tough, grinding loss. Snakes had to go extras to salvage one of three in their own snakepit while facing off against the World Champions.
Is it just me or does anyone else think stix is actually the Dailai Lama?
Whatever. Still in 1st place.
Goodnight ladies (of the evening) and gentlemen (question mark)
The way Pablo is running the bases is music to my ears.
eddacker – settling for the series win and looking forward to Oakland
