A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

One Game

Posted in Uncategorized by ewisco on October 25, 2012

and a nice one but just one game. I gave it a fist pump and a quiet YES and got ready to move on. I’m keeping my head down and my ammo dry. taking it one game at a time. i’m going to play within myself today, when i’m not outright playing with myself. Barry Zito, Game one winner. Maybe the Mayans have it right. Win or lose, a resurgent Undertaker would be really good news. Otherwise game 6 becomes a black hole. So, a tip of the cap to the Panda and back to work.

    ha, this is fun.
    we score we win
Pawlie is responsible for all of this.
    You could look it up.

    Yes!!
    fantastic pitcher’s duel
    fantastic SF win

I supported Casilla to close -absolutely no way to argue about Romo becoming the man, though. Both were nasty tonight. No idea why Leyland was willing to concede a run in the 7th, though.

    • eddacker said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:26 pm

      yeah, that surprised me, too
he seemed to be working very hard to get his team a win

  5. Flavor said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:22 pm

I said this earlier today, but the Tigers are freaking fat as fuck. I’m not just talking about Fielder and Cabrera—the catcher. Peralta, Garcia….
    it’s just so much fat.

  6. eddacker said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:23 pm

    I was only nervous twice
for the first 6 innings until we got that first run
and after MEGA BIG FLAVOR SHADY commented about the BP and Casilla came out.
but there was nothing but fight in this team
    Yes!

The long ball last night and the ground attack tonight. Mix in some stellar pitching. Whew, man. 2 down 2 to go.

    …that you’re a “die hard” Giants fan

…that you’re trying to take your kid to his first game

…that the team wins everytime YOU go

    …that you’re a broke college student

…that you’re a “cool dude” to sit next to at a game

…that you have bullshit items to trade

All of you lowballers want World Series tickets for face value??? And complain about being ripped off??? Maybe some of us season ticket holders who make these tickets available in the first place have had enough of your cheap, whining ways. Some of us are trying to recoup some of our losses for missed regular season games we couldn’t attend and couldn’t sell (had to eat or take a huge loss). We’re not getting rich here, and half of you aren’t even real fans anyway and just want to be seen and heard.

Yea you want Giants WS tickets at face value. Where were you when I had tickets to the Miami Marlins on a Tuesday night this season at face value? Yea, that’s what I thought.

So SHUT UP and PAY UP real market value, or enjoy the game with your pals Joe Buck and Tim McCarver!

Bumgarner’s post game with E Andrews was pretty nice.

Andrews “Madison, what did you find out about you mechanics in the off days?”

Bumgarner “Yeah, I’m not gonna talk about mechanics.”

    Somewhere Amy G was smiling.

  10. Alleykat said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:36 pm

Hey even in the worst case scenario against this anemic Tiger attack. The Giants come back home for gm 6 now!!
Ahh Fuck them lets destroy them in 4!!!
Though it would be nice to win a W/S at home for once.

  11. blade3colorado said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:38 pm

Leyland’s being interviewed and said the following in regard to his feelings about his bullpen, “Terrific. They pitched fine, I have a lot of confidence in our bullpen. The game tonight was 2-1 . . . ” Huh? 2-1? Bullpen “terrific?”

Whoa Jim . . . It may be time to contemplate retirement if you can’t even remember the score from 15 minutes ago.

    • Flavor said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:57 pm

The diff between Leland and Bochy is that one of them is managing at the peak of their skill set and one of them is on the back end of their skill set.
That’s not a big dig on Leeland, he’s been a fantastic manager over the course of his career.
      But this is Bochy’s time.
      It’s our time.
      We score we win

  12. zumiee said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:39 pm

Another collapse by the Tiger bullpen. They had trouble just throwing strikes.

  13. Macdog said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:41 pm

What’s that now, 30-4 in the last five games? Keep on keepin’ on.

  14. Bozo said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:51 pm

Man, I’m going to be pissed if this hurricane that’s expected to hit here Saturday or Sunday, knocks out my power when I’m watching the game.

  15. Flavor said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:53 pm

This is so different from 2010. Back then I was running indescrimitely around talking to myself. As Snarkk said, “we have one (WS) now”.
And that’s why this one is so different. We still might not get it. And if we don’t, I’m not gonna trip since I’ve already got one. And if we *do* win it i will experience this (and have so far) totally differently than 2010– more *adult* or something. More *act like you’ve been there*.
But 2012 would be epic for it’s own reasons. I just won’t be running around like a chicken with his head lopped off.
    Been there, done that.

    • tedspe said, on October 25, 2012 at 9:22 pm

Flav, with the *emphasis* on the fucking *’s!! I’m *telling* you I got no *fucking* doubt. If they *don’t* take the whole enchilada at *least* they played like fucking champions and I am *so* happy to be not only a Giants fan but *totally* a rent paying *San Franciscan*!!!!
      (enter gay-ass smiley face)

    • PawlieKokonuts said, on October 25, 2012 at 10:41 pm

I concur. I smell victory, but it’s already victory. And infinitely different. Yes, more “adult,” if you will. Now I’m really signing off.

  16. Alleykat said, on October 25, 2012 at 8:53 pm

Bochy cracks me up.His postgame interview ?.Were you suprised the Tigers played the infield back with the bases loaded?
Well I don’t get into the stratgey thinking of Jim or any other manager.
Yeah right, under Bochy poker face,we all know he’s fucking playing the infield in if it was reversed.
That really was stupid of Leyland to play them back there.Made no-sense at all.

Hi. Back home from some of the most satisfying days of my life. a. Bum! b. Romo! c. Tigers goofed on that bunt. d. I would’ve left Fister in (although I also would’ve removed him after taking that shot to the head. I already miss the ballpark. Saturday I’ll be at the ballet. That worked okay in 2010. Special thanks again to Blade and his wonderful aunt and to Magnus and a shoutout to Dirtrocks and his dad. G’night.

Glad your enjoying…told you the scenerio yesterday…. Twin, Leyland said his team had to score at least 1 run or it didn’t matter so he played to give up only 1 run instead of a crooked number if he brings the infield all in

  22. snarkk said, on October 25, 2012 at 9:33 pm

I don’t think I’m tempting fate at this point in this Series to say I’m not much impressed by Detroit. We beat them two different ways, once with a lotta runs, once in a pitcher’s duel. They look slow, uninterested or overwhelmed some, and just not really impressive. Maybe they win 3 straight back home, but even if they do, I’m not shakin’ about it. The Cards and Reds maybe didn’t have as good starting pitching on the whole, but they sure looked like better all-around squads to me…

    • shaman138 said, on October 25, 2012 at 11:32 pm

The Reds were a power house who dominated us at home and then we stole three from them in their house–the Cards had momentum and Zito(!) saved us from being pushed off of the ledge, we took it back home to win it in a magical rainstorm, Panda then slaps the living shit out of the “dominant” Verlander…after that, the rest is history.

  23. snarkk said, on October 25, 2012 at 9:35 pm

When Blanco’s bunt did that tightrope act along the 3rd base line, I figured we had the game won…

  24. tedspe said, on October 25, 2012 at 9:36 pm

Totally fucking agree with you snarkk but…shhhhh

    My apologies for my indulgences.

    Giants. Motherfucking Giants.
It doesn’t get better than this.
    No-really–it doesn’t.
    Goodnight, gentlemen (question mark)

  27. snarkk said, on October 25, 2012 at 10:49 pm

Schilling on post game ESPN said Bum battled but had “mediocre stuff at best”, and the Tigers “pressed their way” into the shutout.
Mediocre stuff yields 8 Ks? This guy is a total Dbag. ESPNs Kruk wasn’t much better, saying the Giants got breaks, and took advantage. No mention of great defense, or base running…

    • James said, on October 25, 2012 at 11:30 pm

Ted, yes, Conrad deserves credit, but the “Jud Suss” thing always kinda bothered me. And speaking of right wing Krauts, fuck that idiot Schilling. Hmmm, Verlander, Scherzer and (P)fister — pure Teutonic evil.

  28. shaman138 said, on October 25, 2012 at 11:24 pm

Snark, Schiling. is an EastcoatShitheadPantywasteNerd. Tigers are Chinatown cat meat at this point.

  29. shaman138 said, on October 25, 2012 at 11:38 pm

IMO, Leyland’s boys could and probably should have won this game. They fucked up one too many times in a tight duel. “Botchy” and his superior managment was the difference maker again in this game. Bruce is the best manager in MLB by far, and that is NOT IMO. It’s a fact.

  30. snarkk said, on October 25, 2012 at 11:46 pm

Pagan and Scutaro have been giving outstanding, outstanding ABs against these tough Tiger starters. Forcing them to throw lotsa pitches and getting their pitch count up is key. Scutaro had a semi-off day at the plate tonite, but his on-the-money throw to home to nail Fielder shows how all around valuable this cat is….
