A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Game Time Thread!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 10, 2013

There’s a lot going on tonight at Casa de Flavor, and it’s all on tv. Giants coming up, Warriors coming up, and in the background, looming….. Hisashi Iwakuma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m tabling my parental duties for the evening and embracing Sierra Nevada  and chicken.

You?

Pagan, Pance, and Posey have all hit Hudson well..The only other player with double digit ABs is Panda, 2 for 17.

    • Flavor said, on May 10, 2013 at 7:23 pm

What are your thoughts about Kruk’s “Hudson is a future HOfamer” call? 🙂

      • twinfan1 said, on May 10, 2013 at 7:28 pm

Very iffy- his winning percentage would be what gives him a shot. But I’d say he needs 50 more innings…

      • twinfan1 said, on May 10, 2013 at 7:36 pm

        I mean 50 more wins..

      • Flavor said, on May 10, 2013 at 7:39 pm

I’m fine with his low win total, but for me, you have to dominate at least a large % of your generation. And he never won a CY, so he’s a “no vote” for me.

Btw, how fantastic is it that those dipshit umps got at least a slap or two on the wrists for not even knowing the fucking rules?
Officials should get paid a lot more money and suffer a major increase in fines and suspensions if we ever want to see any real change.

    • snarkk said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:24 pm

Agreed, they should have gotten more reprimand. How does an experienced ump crew not enforce the rule that a reliever has to face at least one batter? That is umping 1A. Did the manager say that the reliever hurt himself?…

It seems like the Giants were giving Peguero a little window of opportunity to seize the leftfield spot and he just didn’t do it. He may find playing time a lot harder to come by for quite a while.

    Schafer gets chafed by Posey

  5. zumiee said, on May 10, 2013 at 7:56 pm

Wow, they got Schafer out by a bunch on that steal attempt.

  6. zumiee said, on May 10, 2013 at 7:59 pm

At Casa de Zumie we kept dinner very simple tonight. Chicken pot pies from Cosco. They’re Marie Callender brand, and very tasty.

  7. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:04 pm

At Casa de Clown, Pork chops and cornbread stuffing. Sierras earlier, Myers and OJ now.

  8. twinfan1 said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:09 pm

If Peguero is just here to be the 5th OFer, they should have left him in Fresno, IMO,. Juan Perez is a pretty good player and he’s a 4/5 OFer not a potential starter.

  9. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:14 pm

    Nice AB Posey

  10. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:18 pm

Swinging bunt or solid base hit? I’m going with solid base hit.

  11. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:21 pm

Belt’s hit? Solid line drive in my book.

    • zumiee said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:24 pm

That was an interesting hit. Quite a chop!

  12. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:26 pm

    Cain.

  13. snarkk said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:27 pm

    Cain with the hit!…

  14. snarkk said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:28 pm

At Casa de Snarkk, Mrs. Snarkk and the Snarkettes are out on a Girl Scout maneuver.
Dinner is Makers and a bit of soda on ice, then some imagination.
Snarkkdog’s dinner is late, and he’s looking at me like I’m a Maker’s-marinated pork chop…

    • ewisco said, on May 10, 2013 at 10:46 pm

it’s late and no one else has commented but that’s gold. I had dinner with my dad and my brother and there was a wee bit of glenlivet involved. no dogs but the cat was looking for a little something.

  15. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:30 pm

    Marco Hittero.

  16. Nipper said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:31 pm

This game is full of Giants offense. I like it!

  17. paulinasia said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:34 pm

At Casa Paul (this morning), breakfast is mueslix with bananas and soy milk, washed down with a cup of robust VNmese coffee. How great to see a crooked numbered inning for the Giants for a change, especially against the likes of Hudson.

    • Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:44 pm

Not to mention, a huge crooked number.

  18. PawlieKokonuts said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:43 pm

Carnevale. That’s all I’m saying, in answer to your query up top.

  19. PawlieKokonuts said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:46 pm

Alex Cobb of the Rays gets 13 strikeouts in 4.2 innings, 117 pitches — and does not get the win!!!!

  20. James said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:46 pm

Seared scallops in pan sauce, 2011 Moulin a Vent.

What defines a shut down innng after you score 6? The shut down inning, the most moronic concept since the last idiocy I pointed out.

  21. twinfan1 said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:49 pm

It’s like a restaurant here many nights. I made Merna a Salmon filet with a lemon-caper sauce, a salad, and new potatoes. I’m having a salad, new potatoes, and a couple lamb chops..

    • James said, on May 10, 2013 at 8:52 pm

I forgot the awesome new potatoes Mrs. James made in my hasty arrogannce.

    • Flavor said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:08 pm

Is letting her eat the salmon anything like catching a foul ball at a game and giving it to your date?
I’ve never been married so I’m still taking notes on this stuff 😉

The californian yankee in Queen Elizabeth’s court went all “cattleman’s feast”. Down to the butcher’s and a thick cut steak, cut fresh off the slab, that ran to almost 3/4 lb. grilled, rare, peppered and melt in my mouth good.
Luckily there was room on the plate for a nice group of steamed veggies and washed down with fresh ground coffee.

  23. James said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:07 pm

Cain amiably taunting Upton, now that is pretty funny.

  24. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:09 pm

Well, last night I grilled up some new corn (very sweet) with my steaks. Just got some fresh sea scallops and last Friday had my first soft shells (restaurant, not at home. I hate cutting the face off of a live crab).

  25. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:12 pm

    PaGone!

  26. paulinasia said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:12 pm

Damn, morning here, but ya’ll are making me hungry for some tasty California cuisine….

  27. eddacker said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:15 pm

So, was that a little limp with Angel batting from the left side on his HR trip?

    • PawlieKokonuts said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:24 pm

sometimes I’m a little limp when batting from the left side

  28. eddacker said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:27 pm

    LOL, thanks, I needed that!

  29. eddacker said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:30 pm

    looking at the standings.
Shouldn’t the dogers be spending more money?

    • James said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:32 pm

      It’s the new Moneyball.

    • Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:32 pm

      ed, IMO that’s POTD.

      • eddacker said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:35 pm

        Is that the Maker’s talking?

      • Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:39 pm

Myers for me and nope, POTD.

  30. eddacker said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:37 pm

do not know what is going on with mlb video team but a 10 run game and they have 1 (one) highlight.
but it is my man belt’s double where he shows some afterburners rounding first.
    sweet

    • Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:40 pm

I’ve got 16 highlights on my end.

  31. eddacker said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:46 pm

Cards rookie Miller with complete game one hitter 13 Ks 8 looking.
It’s gonna feel great to beat them again this year.

  32. Bozo said, on May 10, 2013 at 9:57 pm

Ball game. Goodnight Ted, wherever you are (?).

  33. zumiee said, on May 10, 2013 at 10:18 pm

And the Dodgers lose and fall 7 games behind the Giants. The few Dodger fans left in the stands in the bottom of the ninth file out of the park quietly.

  34. zumiee said, on May 10, 2013 at 10:21 pm

It’s too bad the Warriors lost tonight; but teams that live by the outside shot, tend to die by the outside shot sometimes, too.

  35. snarkk said, on May 10, 2013 at 10:41 pm

Well, I said earlier I’d let Cain give up one HR to an Upton, but he did to McCann. Whatever. They hadn’t beaten Huddie since 2006, so this was a nice win…

  36. twinfan1 said, on May 11, 2013 at 8:26 am

Curry and Thompson were 6 for 23- on two pointers, many close in. They were a combined 6 for 14 on treys, the rest of the team only attempted 5 treys.Curry was essentially doubled and the Spurs put Leonard on Thompson, the defense on those two was the key for the Spurs.
