It’s complicated, layered, controversial threads like this one that keeps the Flap’s Edge razor sharp. I did this entire post with Dragon speak. It is awesome.

    • Nipper said, on June 20, 2013 at 6:46 pm

How does that work? Is it expensive?

      • Flavor said, on June 20, 2013 at 6:55 pm

Nip, I can never tell what’s real with your posts but I’ll assume this one is. I said “dragon speak” but it’s really just the little mic button on my iPhone. I’d never used it before, didn’t even know what the button was. Hit it by accident.
Anyway it is a very cool feature of this phone.

Another work of art. Is that a Gaudin? Bravo.

Here you go Flav…From today’s Houston Chronicle:

“It gives you goose bumps when you think about it,” Bud Norris said when told the Giants might be thinking about trading for a strarting pitcher. “Obviously growing up there, being a big Giants fan-and I rooted for the A’s, but I was more of a Giants fan. That’s a possibility. It’s all trade rumors, as they say. But if it were to happen, it would be a dream come true to play for my childhood team.”

    • Flavor said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:30 pm

Great quote. But as you said the other day, there will be a lot of competition for him, they won’t pay what he’s gonna cost.
      You confirmed for Flapalooza yet?

      • WilcoJoe said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:36 pm

        Working on it.

      • Flavor said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:37 pm

        Get ‘er done

      • PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:47 pm

I should just drive. Start in August. If I had any backbone, conscience, or soul, I would. “Travels Without Charley.”

  3. Bozo said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:19 pm

    Good play by Noonan.

    • xoot said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:26 pm

Be quick but don’t hurry, as they say. He got set to gun down Pierre without a scrap of wasted motion. Sure wish he could hit a big league FB.

  4. Bozo said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:35 pm

Since Amy G talks through her nose, I wonder why she moves her lips?

  5. PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:42 pm

Thanks, Chi (Chuck) for your comment at Bardball.

  6. PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 7:45 pm

I can’t say I know why, but it seems to me this year that the standings show greater W-L gaps between very good and very bad teams — not every division, but noticeably over all. I blame it on scheduling, partially. I also do not assume that the Dodgers will stay this bad. The NL West will have the closest race, top to bottom, in my view.

  7. PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:08 pm

Roy Oswalt. I’ll say it again: Roy Oswalt. Remember that name? (I was at his last game as an Astro, in Pittsburgh.) Boom. On the mound for the Rockies. Been awhile. But he bolstered my all-or-none theory. 11Ks, 4 ER in 5 innings. And the Nationals have not been hitting. He lost. But he had 11 strikeouts. And lost.

    • Flavor said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:15 pm

      Saw that. 5 innings. Insane

  8. zumiee said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:18 pm

The Giants definitely drafted a young kid in the first round.

    • twinfan1 said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:25 pm

It’s my paper boy!!!! Now I have to hope he’s been throwing it in the tree on purpose..

  9. PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:24 pm

I’m following the game via pulsating digital dots. Is Gaudin hurt? Otherwise, why would Bruce lift him in the fifth at 49 pitches, man on 2nd, 2 hits allowed? I don’t get it.

    • twinfan1 said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:26 pm

A line drive hit him hard on the elbow.

      • PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:28 pm

thank you; usually ESPN provides that sort of note but had not as of yet; sheesh, hope he is okay

      • Flavor said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:30 pm

Thanks. Watching 4th Q and missed what happened to G

      • twinfan1 said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:36 pm

He recovered the ball and threw the runner out before walking around in obvious pain. Bochy came out, Chad threw 3 practice pitches, handed the ball to Bochy and walked off.

  10. zumiee said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:30 pm

The Giants are getting no-hit by a rookie with an 0-5 record, and an ERA over 5? No-hit?

  11. PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:32 pm

Um, has anyone mentioned that Koehler, The Faucet, has not given up a hit yet? Did you know that? Koehler is working on a no-no. Did you know that? I mean, not that anyone is superstitious or anything. Can you imagine that? No hits. So far.

  12. Bozo said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:41 pm

Wait, what? This guy for the Fish hasn’t allowed a hit yet.
    Sun of a gun.
    Santa Maria.
    no hits.

  13. zumiee said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:44 pm

    A hit!

  14. zumiee said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:50 pm

Congrats to the Heat. I didn’t like either team, and didn’t watch much of the series, though.

  15. salty said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:54 pm

Spurs gave it everything tonight. Made me a fan. Just too much Bron.

Rosario has been impressive this time up, no?

  16. twinfan1 said, on June 20, 2013 at 8:57 pm

Surkamp with a good outing tonight. We might see him yet this year.

  17. salty said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:00 pm

    How big has Arias been?

  18. xoot said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:01 pm

Rosario has looked really good in his past couple of outings. Gaudin, meanwhile, pitched pretty well tonight and clearly was prepared to tough it out on the mound, but instead did something even gutsier — he admitted that the bruise already affected his pitches and walked off.

btw, the website I rely on for weather predictions, windguru.nz, shows a lot rain falling during the game vs. Puig on Monday night. One good thing about that website, however, is that they update constantly, and sometimes things improve.

    Nice rips Belt and Arias!

    • xoot said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:03 pm

      that’s windguru.cz

  19. salty said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:04 pm

My math shows Rosario’s at 8 1/3 1 run 10k’s since being recalled.

  20. PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:06 pm

I always like me some Arias. Said that in the playoffs last year. Comes up BIG at the right time. OPERATIC.

  21. Bozo said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:17 pm

    Damn.

  22. Macdog said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:17 pm

Affeldt is the Manu Ginobili of the Giants tonight.

  23. salty said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:17 pm

    pathetic 0-2 pitch

  24. PawlieKokonuts said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:21 pm

    ugh

  25. xoot said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:28 pm

Affeldt was looking good until he left that pitch up.

  26. Bozo said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:36 pm

Alright Giants, time for a fish fry.

    • Nipper said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:43 pm

      BOO HOO!

      • Nipper said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:44 pm

        Not enough runs!

      • Bozo said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:44 pm

        Who boo you, Nipper?

  27. Macdog said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:44 pm

Now the party can really begin in South Beach.

    • Nipper said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:46 pm

      LeBron for Mayor!

  28. Macdog said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:46 pm

    It’s a 1-2 punch:

“SJ Giants announcer Joe Ritzo reports that Pagan was unable to run out a grounder to second in 9th. Limped to 1B, then fell to the ground.”

“Pagan carted off the field back to the Giants clubhouse.”

  29. snarkk said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:53 pm

Affeldt has been pretty crappy since he gave up that Goldschmidt HR in ‘zona. Giants lineup is very challenged right now…

    • twinfan1 said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:59 pm

And probably looking at a month or more for Pagan.

  30. twinfan1 said, on June 20, 2013 at 9:59 pm

    Night All.

  31. eddacker said, on June 21, 2013 at 12:33 am

fuck, pagan surgery? damn. tough loss, and tough noonan on not one but 2 home runs that never were. and a wounded pitcher. rumours Panda may be back Sunday.

As everyone knows, the Queen is a huge horsewoman, loves her some horse flesh, and owns many race horses. Yesterday her horse won; first time in 207 years a reigning monarch’s horse has won the race considered the featured race in the featured event, Royal Ascot’s Gold Cup.
