Game Time Thread!
Bored at work today, me and a buddy put together our “All Overpaid/No Production” team for 2013. DL guys didn’t count. 6 SP’s, 2 closers, and one position player for each position. No DH’s since they don’t count. That’s tomorrow’s thread. Now, just as Sisyphus did so many times with his boulder, we prepare for another great battle against these titans, The Miami Marlins. I don’t know how we’re gonna do it, but facing 9 straight losses to this dynasty should provide at least a little motivation…….
Just so everybody gets a good look as they comment, tonight’s LU.
Blanco CF
Scutaro 2B
Posey 1B
Pence RF
Sanchez C
Arias SS
Torres LF
Noonan 3B
Lincecum RHP
Woo Hoo! no more evening work, let the game time begin.
Go Giantes!
get’em, Timmeh
Logan’s home run.
I am liking the line-up shake-ups we have been seeing lately. The sound of Bruce’s big brain grinding and straining to get the team doing its thing is a thing to behold. Not sitting still. Working the strengths (Belt makes the bench stronger) and weaknesses of the players he’s got. Looking for that magic.
Great post, edd.
Thanks, co-manager Bozo. I was just trying to get BF to bring back Baseball Babe of the Day.
I read that twice, what did this have to do with the BBoTD?
I’m a million miles away from Anna and her crew these days.
I could see them coming back one day. But not now.
It’s sunny and perfect and baseball and Summer is here. I’ll take all the real shit every day, every goddamn day until it goes away….
Wait, that was a post about the BBOTD? Dude, time for holiday, maybe someplace where you can see a tan line.
Cheers
1. It actually had nothing to do with BBoTD, but my answer to Bozo got your attention. hehe
2. It is the first day of summer and I saw a woman walking around town today wearing a coat that would work during an antarctic trek. I wish they all could be California girls
3. I do not miss Anna and the other milfs of limited virtue, but the girl-next-door choices have brightened my day.
“a woman in a coat”…ah, the possibilities…..
Yeah…I had one of those woman and a coat possibilities become a reality once…great memory…
Absolutely…I agree. Good observation…love the way Bochy works the team…
Any chance we can get Kap in the starting 5?
yippee! scooter
Good to hear Miller confirm what a few of us have harped on- Scooter shouldn’t be trying to bunt the runner to third early in the game..
I’m pretty sure the majority of us agree with that.
I don’t doubt that for a secoind. I’ve just been outspoken about it ever since Fruckie was doing it . Bochy had to order him to stop. I think Flavor was outspoken about it as well.
15 yr smart savvy vet…why does he still not get it?
Da: a lot of guys buy into the nonsense of giving up an out early in the game with a runner in scoring position. And a guy hitting .335, double dumb.
Backing up Panda’s HR in Stockton, Crick has struck out 7 in 3 shut out innings, thus far.
So therre is a good reason to live in Fresno?
The Fresno Grizzlies are a fine reason to endure July weather of 100+ degrees. 🙂
Rehab is with San Jose…and they are in Stockton…Navy, port of call Stockton, CA. It’s not a job…it’s a fucking nightmare! Great to hear Pablo went yard…
see what trying to follow California ball from the UK does to a guy? have pity on me.
Torres with his (lucky) 13th double
Nipper, log-in to the Flap, ASAP. We’re concerned!
“(06-21) 19:41 PDT — Firefighters and the U.S. Coast Guard were working Friday evening to locate a van that drove into the bay off the Marina Green in San Francisco, authorities said.
Witnesses reported seeing the van careening through a nearby parking lot at about 20 miles per hour just after 5:05 p.m., said Assistant Fire Chief Bob Postel. The van jumped a curb near the San Francisco Marina Yacht Harbor and flew into the bay.”
Nipper would t be got dead in SF.
If anyone can make a van “fly” into the bay at 20mph, it is a flapper.
🙂
were there any cheap light beer cans strewn about? Was there a DH hitter there? More details!
Speaking of the Central Valley, you have to feel some sympathy for Affeldt. He had previously agreed to appear today in a Central Valley city to help dedicate a new baseball field funded by the Junior Giants program, and that had to have been tough to make that drive today after the tough loss last night, to show up and be positive and cheerful for the crowd at the park today. And deal with kind of an awkward situation because the crowd knows what happened in the game last night, and they might be worried about what kind of mood he was in. I have no doubt Affeldt probably cracked a few jokes and put everyone at ease. I seriously doubt he was gloomy or surly at the event.
Eeeeh…..you see major leaguers make that mistake….taking off for third on that grounder to short…..
Yes!
Lincecum seems to be battling to improve, but his control is still putting pitches into the batter’s zone.
Well, he’s winning the battle so far tonight..
I can be so persnickety at times. *blush*
He IS doing well and my desire to see him succeed makes me over-analyze.
Unreal and awesome
I saw Kim/Kanya named their kid “North West”. Reminded me of a girl I knew years ago who’s tits went left and right. Her nickname was “East West” and she was awesome.
There should be a law that celebrities can’t name their own children.
Settle down, Timmy. So far so good.
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand there goes the lead
fuck Logan Morrison
damn, damn, damn
Christ. Timmy’s not watching the baserunner.
I think he was watching East West.
2013 Marlins or 1927 Yankees. You make the call.
6 innings, 3 runs. A quality start. 🙂
Infield single. Augh
Yikes, second base running error this game.
It wasn’t a wasn’t a base running error, he was thrown out.
same thing, if you factor in bad luck
OK, it was a stupid play.
Plus he hurt himself.
Of course you’d say that, Chuckles.
So, it’s heads up to get thrown out by 10′?
“Plus he hurt himself” Yeah, trash him for that, Chuckles.
Oh lighen up Mike. If he stops at 2nd, he doesn’t jam his knee and he doesn’t get thrown out. Get it? Of course not.
Who’s trahing him?
You. Like always. At first, Schulman thought it was a bad play too. Then he admitted he thought triple right away after it bounded away from Stanton…. and it took a perfect throw. Your’re wrong, Chuckles…
What’s the oldest adage in the book. Mike? Don”t make the 1st or 3rd out a 3rd base. It was stupid. He was thrown out by 5 feet. Bad play. Plain and simple. Schulman is the determinig factor? Funny.
I’ll even explain it to you. See, the runner, by stopping at 2nd, is still in scoring position. The risk to get to 3rd outweighs the benefit.
You’re welcome.
that brings a smile to this face
Alright Tim.
Tim has 100 pitches AND A TRIPLE!
bring him home
bring him home
bring him home
bring him home
Tough LOOGY there.
wonderful,
Notrhig like wasting opportunities.
Solid there, Tim TIm. I’m little shocked.
Have we hit a home run in the past 2 weeks?
bruce gave Tim every chance to get a win.
Can the pen hold the tie?
Fuck. Not even close.
I would call it a good (hopefully encouraging) outing for Tim. Now let’s see him stitch together a number of starts like that…
Unreal. The Giants can’t get this guy out.
The pen is officially a problem. This is getting ridiculous.
I agree, Chuck. What was once one of the strongest parts of the team is in disarray.
Are you kidding me?
Damn…what the hell is with us and the Marlins. The fucking Marlins. Jeez…
Christ. Train weck.
Tonight we saw why Bochy says Affeldt is still going to be setting up.
Like I said. Train wreck. He doesn’t have a choice. No one is doing very well lately.
Rosario looked pretty good for two-plus last night, but he is in the minority…go up and down bullpen…more are floundering than getting it done.
Well, they lost three relievers- one to injury, one to losing his effectiveness, and one to the rotation.
Tell the fat lady to sit down…
Tease tease tease
bleeeh Hurtling to ,500
Hey, we can still get a split!
I seriously thought a 5-2 home stand would be a “success.” Shit, now we have to win out to go 4-3. Get ’em tomorrow! Night Flappers…up early tomorrow and off to another agility trial with the dogs…
BOO HOO! sniff….
time to make some coffee……
Hope you enjoyed your coffee, mate.
ready for some Saturday baseball?
