A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Heading into The Dog Days of Philly

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on July 21, 2014

Yesterday was disappointing but not surprising. The Giants have several back up players who shouldn’t be on the 40 man roster. You bat Sanchez/Arias/Blanco back to back to back and 0 for 10 sounds about right.

And if you thought it would get easier than Brad Hand (or whatever name is) Β you would be mistaken as there are few in the world easier than Brad Hand. Β That name almost sounds made up.

Cliff Lee comes off the DL tonight. Joy.

Though for some reason, I’m strangely optimistic. Pence and Morse have historically hit him well, pummeling him for 15 hits in 24 at bats. And that’s when he was still good. Lee is 36 and coming back from another elbow injury so I think we take the “glass half full” approach tonight.

But there is no magic wand to fix the bottom of our order. There’s no guy behind the guy. With Belt out and Scoots on a *1 day on 5 day off* work program we are going to see all the “Blanc-ias-anza-paniky-chez” we can handle…..

And Pablo can’t hit left handers anymore so maybe I’m tasting less liquid in that glass after all…..

Is it too late to pick up Cody Ross for this series? πŸ™‚

Yeah the bottom of the order sucks pole!
Morse hits a lead off double and talks to the 2nd base men the rest of the inning as they couldn’t even get him to 3rd when even a couple groundouts could of scored him, just pathetic..

  2. willedav said, on July 21, 2014 at 8:34 am

Ross is actually back on the DL as of couple days ago. I remember Kruk saying he didn’t look completely healthy when they were here though he did blast one off Bum. Too bad, good guy and yeah fond memories.

I’ve defended Sabes, but watching Bourjos last night take Kershaw deep and steal a couple bags while playing good CF, Sabes whiffed on this one completely. Blade was pretty high on him as I recall, and Cards got him for their slumping 3b Freese.
Same thing with Gentry the A’s stole…Crisp is guy who is often hurt or out of the LU. Beane filled a hole and only gave up a prospect as I recall. Gentry is another guy who can lead off, steal a bag and play very good D.

Pagan situation is not very encouraging and finding an everyday CF is a lot bigger issue than 2b to me. Unless you plug Pence in there and grab a corner OF instead, you’ve got the Blanco/Colvin platoon, made all the worse without Belt.

    • salty said, on July 21, 2014 at 10:02 am

Willie, A’s gave up Michael Choice, a highly rated AAA OF prospect for Gentry. Sruggling badly so far with Rangers but has speed power…

Cain just hit the 15-day DL with his barking elbow. Hopefully, the tree bark and liniments provided by the crack medical team will get him back healthy.

Yeah, you really have to wonder why Belt even got near the field on Saturday. Dumb-ass shit. Like the NFL in the 60s. The errant throw from home would have been even more awful had it nailed him.

  4. unca_chuck said, on July 21, 2014 at 8:51 am

Mr. Hand. . . . He was My Favorite Martian in Fast Time At Ridgemont High. Ray Walston. Loved him in both.

Too bad about James Garner. Saw him briefly at a race at Laguna Seca in the 70s. Seemed like a nice genuine guy among all the glitterati. Loved Grand Prix and The Great Escape. Rockford Files of course. Everyone wanted a crap-ass brown ’75 Firebird back then.

He and David Spade were pretty funny in that stupid 7 Rules about Banging my daughter TV show.

Morning Flappers. Yeah, no surprise with Cain heading to the DL. From them slipping him to the five spot in the rotation, and then Bochy finally coming clean that he had a “cranky” elbow…the handwriting was on the wall. And total bullshit around Belt. The medical staff has nothing on the Keystone Kops. Jeez.

Tough loss last night. Timmy pitched good enough to get the dub, but that passed ball was just too much for the offense to overcome late in the game.

Was a busy weekend. Demo’d our old garden fence and put up new 8′ deer-proof fencing, and completed a couple other things around the house. Had all the games recorded and actually got to watch them all in full without finding out beforehand who had actually won (rare treat with the recorded games).

A split in Philly translates to a winning roady. But winning the series there would be sweet before the boys come home to tangle with the bums.

  6. Chipower9 said, on July 21, 2014 at 9:53 am

Oh, and I did not go back and read through the past couple of threads, but did see in a glance that TedSpe was in the house. Welcome back Ted! Hope you are back Flappin’ regularly.

All these damn injuries..looking like Bad Penny II. Dawgs have their own issues.

Giants need Blanco from last Sept when he bit .373.

Yeah, haven’t see the comments as I’ve been doing the yardwork, home fix up deal myself, but my daughter gave me 2 tee times at Tilden Park yesterday, so me and my son and a buddy of mine played a twilight round. Hell of a course. I ain’t all that good, but I did par 3 of the holes. Epic. Never played there before gorgeous course if not for the lumpy greens.

I thought they should have pulled Timmy after 6. Not sure if it came up yesterday, but he labored through that inning, and the bottom of the order there must have been out there for 2 minutes, thus giving Timmy no rest.

Instant double, and it was on the wall/.

    FUUUUCK.

It’s Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuggla time. Giants just signed him.

Path of least resistance and all.

Also from Pav: “Giants signed Mitchell Boggs to minor league deal, according to @MattEddyBA. Was on Cardinals for years, has 9.50 ERA in minors this year.”

  11. blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 11:13 am

Flav, glad you had the comment about Morse and Pence. Both have done much damage against Lee. In fact, Pence has 2 bombs against Lee in only 11 at bats. Nice. Morse – still having a power outage – is still batting .293 in his last 15 games. Hopefully, he can go yard this evening in that band box of a ball park. Crawford has also had some success against Lee, (3 runs, 1 bomb, 4 RBI in 27 ABs).

Conversely, Scoots and Posey both flail against Lee. Maybe their fortunes change tonight. I have Vogy going in a Fan Duel tournament tonight, so I look for him to have a good outing. With Lee coming off the DL, I look for the Giants to win handily this evening. πŸ™‚

    Dan Uggla come on down!

    Ugh.

  13. blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 11:21 am

If Uggla is our “Ace in the Hole,” then we be in a shit load of trouble.

Here are the relevant stats – “In his fourth season with the Braves, the 34-year-old Uggla was batting .162 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in 48 games and 130 at-bats. He had a 33-game hitting streak in 2011, the franchise’s second-longest, but also struck out 495 times in 451 games over the last three years. Uggla, a three-time NL All-Star, hit .179 with 22 homers and 55 RBIs last year and underwent corrective eye surgery last summer.”

Fuck, if this doesn’t sound like Hicks was just called up.

  14. Chipower9 said, on July 21, 2014 at 11:25 am

That is SO FUCKING DEPRESSING (the Uggly signing). So much for bringing in a quality guy like Zobrist who could play either CF or 2nd, AND hit at the top of the order. Fuck, Fuck, Fuck!

  15. Chipower9 said, on July 21, 2014 at 11:27 am

And on the Flap you can hear the collective sigh…UGHla…

If this is Sabean’s thoughts on shoring up the line-up, the Giants are SO FUCKED…

I hate to have to say I told you so, but I called it last week.

Here’s to hoping Fuuuugly doesn’t make it out of Fresville.

      everyone called this, dude

  18. Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 11:38 am

I forget the batting average stat I cited earlier last week but over his last 680 something at bats he’s hitting like .169. That is not a slump and there is no lightning in this bottle. He’s a steroid guy who quit taking them after he got paid. Pure and simple.

    • unca_chuck said, on July 21, 2014 at 11:43 am

There’s still time to pull the trigger on Zobrist though.

      • Flabloxxxl said, on July 21, 2014 at 12:33 pm

Sabean might possibly pry loose Zobrist in exchange for a 24-year-old lefthanded starting pitcher who won’t be a free agent until 2017.

      • unca_chuck said, on July 21, 2014 at 1:23 pm

        Brilliant.

  19. blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 11:43 am

On 2nd thought – after reading Schulman’s column – I am going to withhold judgement until the 31st. Per Schulman, “So, clearly, the Giants are hedging their bets as they seek a second baseman by the July 31 trade deadline.”

In short, I am going to maintain Flavor’s “half glass full” theme and hope this works out in the end. By the by, if you want to read Schulman’s take, click on here . . . http://blog.sfgate.com/giants/2014/07/21/sf-giants-starter-matt-cain-headed-to-dl-with-elbow-injury/

  21. paulinasia said, on July 21, 2014 at 11:53 am

I have said numerous times that I have faith in Sabean. So….. I’m thinking this signing was just Sabean falling out of bed in the morning, a “why not?” signing for him, and his real work is still to come. Like, Zobrist to play CF in Pagan’s absence. I’m also going to go out on a limb and say that Uggly will do better in a G’s uniform than he has lately elsewhere. Of course, that wouldn’t be difficult…..

    • Chipower9 said, on July 21, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Yeah, as much as I have bashed the Uggly deal, I get it that it is low cost and low risk. I still don’t care for it, but will hope for the best (as others have said, that a change of scenery helps).

Zobrist I see as a distinct possibility, although the latest (reported about four hours ago) still shows the M’s and Reds remaining interested, with the M’s still possibly going for both Zobrist and Price.

No way I see the Giants having the required trade pieces to snag both. Sure, I would love to see Price in the Orange and Black, but realistically that is a pipe dream. Zobrist realistically could happen. Let’s hope, as he could fill in for Pagan in CF and lead-off.

  22. snarkk said, on July 21, 2014 at 12:10 pm

I figured Cain had a bad elbow, said so a while ago, and the re-shuffling of the pitching order over the AS break was a signal. I’d like to know why they haven’t had the medicos clean out his elbow of those chips over the last few offseasons — too much too ask of the beat writers to find out, I suppose. Have no clue about Belt other than he got hit in the face with a ball, and still played in the game until he almost keeled over. How the hell does that happen in today’s (supposedly) concussion-aware pro ball? Two of three in Marlinland is cool – I’ve got no idea what happened last night, but must have been frustrating with this bench, per the Flap above…

  23. paulinasia said, on July 21, 2014 at 12:12 pm

Yeah, Craig could’ve put the Cain story in the last thread about the medicos. Seems they allowed Cain to “play through it” for awhile now. As Bagg says, not smart….. so it goes. Might have to pick up a pitcher by the deadline too. Damn, that Price and Zobrist two-fer would be sweet…..

  24. Chipower9 said, on July 21, 2014 at 12:29 pm

I agree, snarkk re: why haven’t they cleaned-out Matt’s elbow, yet. This issue was first uncovered in 2010. The company line is that he has been able to pitch through it and be effective. Well, WTF…something like that it seesm that the first offseason (after the 2010 season) they would have cleaned it out.

  26. Chipower9 said, on July 21, 2014 at 12:55 pm

    Pence RF
    Scutaro 2B
    Posey C
    Sandoval 3B
    Morse LF
    Duvall 1B
    Crawford SS
    Blanco CF
    Vogelsong RHP

    • stickman said, on July 21, 2014 at 1:03 pm

A modest uptick in the lineup w.o. Sanchez and Arias. Who knows ~ Duvall could run into one with somebody on base, batting sixth. As for Uggla: Hope, hope, hope he starts via the Fresnobus where he can be evaluated before he’s elevated. Useless at 2B but might add to a sad bench.

  27. Chipower9 said, on July 21, 2014 at 12:57 pm

Second day in a row for Scoots. Hopefully (not holding my breath) a sign of things to come (him in the line-up more regularly)…

    • stickman said, on July 21, 2014 at 1:05 pm

Consecutive days: Hoping the medical staff has this one right. Three in a row? S C A R Y. At most he shold get 3 per week with Panik the other four. The kid contributed recently. He seems to be getting it.

      • Chipower9 said, on July 21, 2014 at 1:40 pm

I would be down with that mix if Scoots can pull his part of that load Stick.

    • Flabloxxxl said, on July 21, 2014 at 3:02 pm

Just holding the fort until Uggla gets eight or ten ABs at Fresnot.

  28. Alleykat said, on July 21, 2014 at 1:14 pm

Sabean’s doing his best to lower the team bench avg even worse..
    Ehire A .222
    Blanko .227
    Hector .194
    Arias .182
Ugly .162 ( when their dumb enoug to bring him up)

    • stickman said, on July 21, 2014 at 1:23 pm

Lottsa pine splinters on that bench. Of course Sabes is hoping to find lightning in a bottle once again but he did hafta scrape pretty hard to get Uggla off the dumpster wall.

  29. stickman said, on July 21, 2014 at 1:21 pm

Duvall is up and he has earned it. Stats: 56 runs on 94 hits in 316 AB’s. Sixteen doubles, 3 triples AND 26 Dingers (+1 in The Show). He’s driven in 79 runs (compare that with SF regulars) with a .366 OBP a spectacular .626 SP on a .303 BA. OPS @ .987. This is Tall Timber Territory.

Were i the GM for Tampa Bay and had a shot at this DH ideal in a one for one swap for Zobrist i’d be pretty tempted. I don’t see Adam Wally Pipping BB9, but the Rays might see a keeper in him. Sabean plays hardball and wants more and adds Blackburn, another starter from High or low A who is a prospect, Gary Brown and a PTBN (currently on the MiL disabled list) and maybe T.B. would throw a pretty decent SP into the deal.

    • dirtnrocksnomo said, on July 21, 2014 at 1:57 pm

I would like to see Duvall perform better this time. Other than the bomb, he looked over matched the first time he was up.

  33. unca_chuck said, on July 21, 2014 at 3:07 pm

Yahoo posts some really stupid things, but this is a gem in the realm of baseball stupidity. Texas pitcher Colby Lewis said BJ Colby Rasmus broke one of the unwritten rules of baseball by bunting for a hit. Texas was in a shift, and the BJays were up by 2 in the 5th at the time, and there were 2 down. He bunted the ball to the unoccupied left side of the IF.

Lewis said it was ‘unethical’ to bunt for a hit because Rasmus already had a hit off him and he was doing it only for his average.

Someone needs to re-read the unwritten rules. Bunting for a hit is verboten in a no-hitter. Not when a team is up by a couple runs in the 5th. When teams employ the shift, are they being unethical? Isn’t the shift itself unethical then, skippy? I heard talk somewhere that MLB is thinking about banning the use of more than 2 IFers on either side of the diamond. Still and all, what a fucking dumbshit supremo. Can’t say he ‘flips out’ but he does yell at Rasmus, and comments on it later.

    http://finance.yahoo.com/news/texas-rangers-pitcher-flips-opponent-125903886.html

    • Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 3:18 pm

I thought the same thing. Lewis is a crybaby be-atch

    • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 3:25 pm

Agree Chuck. Lewis is a piece of shit pitcher anyway. Tough cheese if Rasmus bunts. Rasmus has been flailing this season with the exception of HRs, so I don’t see a problem with him trying anything to get on base. Especially true, when they do that dumb ass shift bull shit. More power to him and anyone else who lays a bunt down to defeat it.

By the by, Sanchez, Adrianza, Blanco and the rest of the “zero nadas” in the bottom part of our line up should lay down a bunt to get on base. Nothing else is working in their quiver. Dumb shits.

Try Kimmie’s Coffee Cup 6770 South Virginia BF, killer breakfast and lunch, cute waitresses as wellπŸ˜ƒ

  44. Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 4:36 pm

If you have the ball you are allowed to block the plate. This replay isn’t going to go our way and it’s idiotic that Bochy doesn’t know this

  45. OGDB said, on July 21, 2014 at 4:38 pm

no brainer to send Morse there. I applaud Flannery, he is a fantastic 3rd base coach

  46. Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 4:43 pm

word from Bagggs is that was an umpire review, not a bochy review

  47. paulinasia said, on July 21, 2014 at 4:47 pm

Flannery probably shouldn’t have sent him, but that was on Morse to actually touch home plate. Would’ve been a great play if he’d managed to do so while tumbling over the catcher’s back. No review necessary, another run on the board. Oh, and, being in PA now at my parents’ house, I’m getting the Philly broadcast. THREE times, the announcers, including the esteemed Jamie Moyer, have said that the G’s are the perfect team for Cliff Lee’s first start, since in his career, he is 5-0 against them. I guess they stopped watching in 2010 after Howard took that called strike 3, huh….

    • Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 4:49 pm

I was fine with the send. With Voggy coming up I’ll take my chances with a bad relay or bad throw or a drop or something. Plus, Morse coulda run his ass over, that woulda/coulda worked too. Watching Voggy bat is not fun…

  48. Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 4:58 pm

bunting has to be significantly better for Scoots back, I’m glad he did that…..

  49. zumiee said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:19 pm

So every inning tonight is going to be torture. πŸ™‚

  50. blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:30 pm

I partied with Lon Simmons son in law, who was a Captain at the Fire Department I worked at. All sorts of interesting shit went down with that guy.

    • Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:35 pm

      lol, that’s rad. I can only imagine. And I’m guessing he’s his ex-SIL now……

      • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:43 pm

Ya know Craig, I don’t know for certain, but yeah that dude Bill is probably divorced. Before I married my wife (who was a champion amateur skier), I didn’t know how to ski. I think you know this story, but he’s the one that took me skiing at Heavenly for the first time . . . By noon, I was so exhausted from “crash and burning” so many times, that I just went to the bar to “act” like a skier (lqtm) and I met these hot babes. Fast forward an hour later, Bill shows up and proceeds to talk these chicks into going on one last run. Fuck! I went along with him because I knew he was a horn dog and would go after the one I liked. Anyway, to make a long story short, he took us to the highest elevation and it must have took me over an hour to get down the hill. I had some coke in my back pocket that I was looking forward to doing and it was mush by the end of the day (again, I fucked up and wore Levi’s). Terrible day all the way around. πŸ™‚

Dirt taking a shot at 5 Guys???? I used to live right by the second 5 Guys when I first moved to DC/Virginia. I am actually completely surprised that they have expanded into California. It is truly or at least had been a true mom and pop operation. Fond fond memories of A&W. I remember as a 3 year old the one in Redwood City with the drive up service. Just awesome.

There is a new buzzing burger franchise named BurgerFi. Had my first in Florida and now live near one in Virginia. Good dogs and beer and wine service! Any back in the Bay Area?

    • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:36 pm

Our little league manager would always take us to A&W after a win. Good times.

    • dirtnrocksnomo said, on July 21, 2014 at 7:15 pm

Haha. Yeah, they’ve been popping up out here the last few years. First time I had 5 Guys was back east. Hagerstown, MD. Like the fries. The burger just meh

  52. blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:35 pm

I wish the Giants would have given Sizemore a shot. Almost positive he would do better then Blanco.

  53. zumiee said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:39 pm

A bad time for the defense to flub up.

  54. gianthead said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:40 pm

That is piss poor by Crawford….

  55. zumiee said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:46 pm

Vogey didn’t have it tonight. Gave up 11 hits in 3+ innings.

  56. Alleykat said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:51 pm

Shit a check swing 2 run single for Howard on a great pitch by Voggy, just sucks bigtime..

  57. Alleykat said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:53 pm

Great job by Kontos to stop the bleeding.

  58. gianthead said, on July 21, 2014 at 5:59 pm

Feel guilty I started Ryan Howard in one fantasy team…

    • Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:04 pm

Don’t feel guilty, you can’t look at it that way. I have Byrd on 7 teams tonight

    • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:07 pm

Took a chance with Vogy on FD and he’s out . . . You rarely win money in FD when your pitcher face plants after 3 innings.

    • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:09 pm

Yeah, agree with Flavor that shit doesn’t bother me at all. I do try to avoid pitting opposition players against the Giants, but if it’s a chance to win some money, I’m in.

      • Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:10 pm

I mean, I want the Giants to win first, FD is second. but if one of my angles pays off against the Giants, so be it.

      • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:14 pm

Yep. By the by, I am tripping on this new PC I have. Technology is unbelievable, especially the HDTV monitor I purchased. Been playing with it the last couple of days and I’m amazed at processor speed (I7 Intel chip, with a robust NVidia graphic card).

Posey just went yard . . . OK, here’s an example where I have a Giant on my FL team and I scored big time on that bomb. It all evens out GH. πŸ™‚

      • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:17 pm

Whoops! I thought that was Posey, but it was Duvall. LOL.

  59. stickman said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:01 pm

Vogie went Bogey so it was up to Zorba the Greek to keep us from going up the creek.

  60. paulinasia said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:10 pm

Steve, agree about Sizemore, I remember thinking that when I read about the Sox releasing him. Well, 10 days to go before the deadline….

    • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:15 pm

Paul, he was doing well during the first month of the season, then Bradley started taking starts/at bats away from him. I think he can still play.

  61. Macdog said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:13 pm

    Yes!!!!

  65. blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:19 pm

Brown was supposed to be the “new wave” of prospects to assist the Phils going forward. Not.

  66. blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:23 pm

The Phils GM can’t be happy with Lee’s performance tonight (9 plus ERA, 2.29 WHIP), as Lee was supposed to be auditioning to various teams as trade bait. Next.

    • Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:36 pm

lots of people thought he came back too soon for that very reason

  67. Macdog said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:32 pm

Javy still mowing down Utley & Howard.

  68. stickman said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:33 pm

Hey, hey wha did i say about Duvall in the 1:21 posting. Now looking at Tampax Bay drooling about getting him for Zobrist. Of course he could develop into a Dave Kingman who SF let go for peanuts back in the day. So should we keep him or would he now be USDA Choice tradebait?

  69. paulinasia said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:40 pm

Yeah, Steve, I’ve been watching Phillie games for two weeks now, Sizemore is doing well. But these announcers… they crack me up. I mentioned earlier their comment about the Giants being the perfect team for Lee to face in his first game back ’cause he’d never lost to them…. huh. They were chatting a bit about Lopez that last inning: “I remember him when he was with Pittsburgh….”… “With the Red Sox, he was doing ok…”… “Giants, uh, picked him up off the scrap heap in 2010, as the Giants are good at doing….” No mention of the 2010 NLCS ala MacDog’s comment of mowing down their lefties… too funny. Catching all these east coast broadcast teams REALLY makes me miss K&K and Miller. Not Papa, though. πŸ™‚

    • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:53 pm

Well, right now yer not missing much, as K & K are doing their tired family shtick (big brother got the ball; little brother pissed off; Mom negotiating peace; and Dad showing up with expensive ball park food that ultimately keeps the peace). Yawn . . .

  70. pawliekokonuts said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:50 pm

There’s a car-hop A&W place down the road 30 miles, in Cortland, NY. Good feeling at such a throwback place. And good root beer. The unwashed, restless, loud natives are yellin’ on the street below me. Reno. In 1974, I did my laundry there, then got so shit-faced drunk I was asking them to “hit me” with 17, maybe 18, showing in blackjack. Even the dealer was pissed. And, no, I don’t remember the end of the evening. But it was a very long ride from Reno to SF, even as a hang-dog, hungover passenger.

    • Flavor said, on July 21, 2014 at 7:39 pm

I’m here now and doing my laundry but I’m at a buddy’s house and I don’t play blackjack. Can I still make this POTD? lol

  71. Manny said, on July 21, 2014 at 6:55 pm

If they don’t trade Duvall, they need to put his ass out in left field once he heads back to Fresno. Nothing to lose by seeing if the kid can become serviceable in left.

    • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 7:01 pm

Agree (especially with Belt out). Nice DP by Craw and Scoots.

      • blade3colorado said, on July 21, 2014 at 7:02 pm

        Correction on Scoots (Adrianza)

  72. stickman said, on July 21, 2014 at 7:36 pm

Both Adrianza and Blanco having good nights. Told you guys the road trip would help the offense. Like Chi says, it may not happen, but ATT is sicko ~ needs to be Willie Mays Field. Think about it. Greatest ballplayer ever and he is still with us and still helping the team as he can. What a statement against racism and general corporate bullshit it would be.

    • pawliekokonuts said, on July 21, 2014 at 7:58 pm

I’m with you, and I know you’ve campaigned for this, but it ain’t gonna happen. At least the team’s address IS 24 Willie Mays Plaza, with that sweet statue.

  73. Bozo said, on July 21, 2014 at 7:38 pm

  75. unca_chuck said, on July 21, 2014 at 7:46 pm

Did Scoots tighten up? I’m assuming so . . .

Nice win. Excellent job by Duvall. Bottom of the LU did some shit.
