Destroying the VMI Challenged Rockies Today

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 25, 2014

Normally, I would be bummed about the Giants returning home for a series since they’ve sucked so badly this year at AT&T. But today, I’m excited. Colorado has the worst visual memory index number of any team in baseball today at -25.97. Peavy should toy with them.

VMI is a fascinating tool I’ve used this year to assess pitchers and hitters on a daily basis. It factors in changes in altitude, humidity and temperature and how those changes affect a player’s visual memory and muscle memory. I encourage anyone interested to check out the VMI website at http://www.baseballvmi.com

Colorado is throwing a very bad left handed pitcher at us today. I expect all our hitters to feast on him and a handy win is likely forthcoming…..

Fuck this team. I can’t stand this.

Lunchtime in China, between my morning and afternoon classes; not really following the game except by reading Flapper comments. I have learned how to determine exactly how a game is going based on the number of times the F word is used…. Unfortunately, today’s usage is climbing….

How long before you head to VN?

  6. chipower9 said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:31 pm

Yep. Fuck = shit sucks. Fuck Yeah! = Things are rolling. Tonight…Fuck!

Giants catchers need to take some remedial work on how to tag runners in this new rule era. Susac had the ball in plenty of time to tag the runner even with him being way out in front of the plate. Instead of reaching over to his left and planting the glove/ball directly in front of the left side of the plate and letting the runner slide into the glove/ball before the foot could even reach the plate, Susac lunged above ground UP THE LINE towards third to tag the runner on the lower leg. No way the play should have been even close enough to miss the call. Got fortunate on the protest…

I’ll have to look at it again. Fortunate? I think they just got it right. But yeah, it probably could have gone either way.

      • snarkk said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:38 pm

Yeah, I believe he was out, but it was close, so I used “fortunate” because we’ve seen more obvious reversals not get reversed…

    At least Morse isn’t up.

Nice inning from Romo. I’m sensing a dramatic happy ending of this one, possibly involving a splash.
“Ottavino is coming in…” They bring in Belisle, SF wins for sure.

?–Peavy got tossed yesterday and probably came within eyelash of getting run again tonight.
so who holds record for most consecutive days ejected from a game?
I know there’s been mgrs. thrown out of both games of a DH.

    • snarkk said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:35 pm

Earl Weaver must hold some record on that. I believe he once got thrown out of a game bringing out the lineup card…

    • chipower9 said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:36 pm

Billy Martin has to be up there as a manager, too…

Chi, 5 weeks here, then aim to arrive to set up camp in Saigon again around 1st of October….

      Cool. Happy and safe travels…

  12. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:38 pm

Wow. You gotta be kidding me.

  13. chipower9 said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:39 pm

Fucking ump needs his ass kicked seven days of Sunday. Fucking blind one-eyed idiot.

  14. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:39 pm

Possibly the worst called game in a while

  15. chipower9 said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:40 pm

    Un-fucking-real…

  16. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:41 pm

    Good God. 10-24.

  17. willedav said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:43 pm

Dramatic end to Bochy’s night anyway.

  18. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:46 pm

Seattle has the legion of boom, and we have the left on base. Qquowon

  19. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:47 pm

Wow. Now the low strike is in play…..”…

    • snarkk said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:51 pm

Just saw the mlb.com replay on the called K on Buster. Looked like the ball crossed the front of the plate already below Buster’s knees, clearly below when the catcher caught it. The ump was obviously ready and looking to toss Bochy, he tossed him while Bochy must have barely got off one F word still in the dugout. This ump is a chump…

  20. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:49 pm

Oh, joy……. Panik wasn’t born when LaTroy first came up.

    • snarkk said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:51 pm

Giants need to light this dude up. He sucked when he was with the Giants seemingly 100 years ago…

  21. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:51 pm

    Well, take backs . . .

    • James said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:53 pm

Embarrassing, that was strike 3 to Morse.

  22. James said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:52 pm

    How’s this dude throwing 95?

    • James said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:56 pm

Let it be noted that my creative usage of “dude” was arrived at independently from Snarkk’s 🙂

  23. Macdog said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:53 pm

Leadoff walk, Rockies must be setting up for the DP.

  24. snarkk said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:57 pm

Bochy knows Peavey very well, but that guy reminds me of Harbaugh. He’s gotta be tough to live with over an extended period of time…

  25. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:58 pm

    Fuck!

  26. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 9:58 pm

    Tiburon blanco!

  27. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 10:01 pm

    Oh lob lob loblob

  28. snarkk said, on August 25, 2014 at 10:01 pm

I wish Blanco could take ABs like Panik. The vet and rookie roles look reversed from what they really are…

  29. Macdog said, on August 25, 2014 at 10:04 pm

    Fuck.

  30. unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 10:04 pm

4 errors in 3 innings. Peavy gets the pole up the ass again.

  31. snarkk said, on August 25, 2014 at 10:05 pm

SF now 2-5 against the Rocks at ATT. Outhit the Rocks 9-6, and out-errored them. Not getting into the WC game playing like this. Crawford needs to sit a bit…

  32. snarkk said, on August 25, 2014 at 10:09 pm

Looks like a good thing SF didn’t get Choo. Gnite Flappers…

  34. sportdude said, on August 25, 2014 at 10:20 pm

Not to beat a dead horse but 9 hits 2 runs. We must be the worst hitting team in baseball with runners on. Baseball a million stats, and i have to think our ratio of hits to runs must be the worst of all time!!!! Fuck

    • unca_chuck said, on August 25, 2014 at 10:22 pm

We are reverting to the mean, to paraphrase Jimmy James.
