Our Shitty Hitters Can Go Fuck Themselves, Hard.

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 27, 2014

Are mid-game threads allowed to call out what a shit-fuck offense we have? And SHIT FUCK doesn’t really get to the heart of it.

Anyway, this is a mid game thread and I’ll bounce right back to puppy dogs and cotton tails tomorrow. At least until 9/1 when I will let the swear words FLOW………

If bunting is all we’ve got, every batter should try it. Can’t be any worse.

    • pawliekokonuts said, on August 27, 2014 at 8:58 pm

      I’m out. (Yeah, right.)

      • chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:01 pm

        Yeah, right.

Just so I didn’t write all this shit for nothing (left the original on the other thread) . . .

Flavor, if you are well and go to work tomorrow, file a report of “Unsafe/Unhealthful Working Condition” with your workplace safety representative or (hopefully) safety professional. These reports are required by law to be acknowledged within 24 hours (written letter of acknowledgement). Said letter will state they are investigating this incident and will provide you a report within _______ (usually, no later then a week). Last, but not least, insist upon a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) on the chemical material(s) used in your workspace. THIS IS IMPORTANT! it will have info on the OSHA permissible exposure limits (PEL) for an 8 hour and 40 hour time weighted average (TWA)*. Additionally, it will have the specific personal protective equipment necessary to work in the area (organic vapor cartridges/with a fitted mask . . . by the by, only people certified to wear a respirator) and engineering controls (local exhaust and general ventilation, visqueen barriers with negative pressure, etc.).

Shoot me an email if you have questions. Oh yeah, tell your daughter, you’ll be around at least until her HS graduation. 🙂

    * Good job Pawlie!

    • blade3colorado said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:02 pm

By the by, if you do not get action from your workplace. File a report with Cal-OSHA . . . They will drill them a new asshole for not following through on your concerns.

    • chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:09 pm

Just went back to the last thread. Good on both of you, Pawlie and Steve, to come up with the low down on MSDSs and exposure limits, etc. Flappers have to look out for one another…

        We’ll see how much when I’m homeless…

  3. chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:00 pm

It was a nice safety squeeze. But yeah, our offense sucks balls. Heard pre-game that the Giants are one game over .500 against the West. Well, they only have six games left that are NOT against the West, so they better figure out how the fuck to beat the losers like the Sherpas, D-Sux, and Dago if they want to join the post-season dance. Gail gets so tired of me saying regularly, here we are runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs…and what the fuck happens…same shit…stranded runners. So Damned Frustrating…

Don’t know how to forward this, but I do remember seeing Mark Davis get his first W of the 1983 season July 30 vs. Dodgers, a 7 hit complete game 8-0 shutout. Most enjoyable
Check out the box score from that day: Lemaster led off, LU included Brenly at 1b, Jonny Rabb at C, Wellman at 2b, Youngblood in RF, plus the Hac and Chili D., Frank as mgr.
Dodgers: Russell, Landreaux, Dusty, Guerrero (who regularly destroyed SF) Mike Marshall who had 3 hits while rest of entire team had 4.

Like Mac, I did see my share of dominant games against SF. Saw Nolan Ryan wipe them out, in Astros bumblebee unis. Sat on 3b side and recall seeing him freeze Darrell Evans with unhittable curve ball…while my drugheaded cousin yelled at Jose Cruz in LF til Cruz flipped him off behind his glove.

Gotta laugh at that thread header (thread-er?). This must be The Flap After Dark.

    • willedav said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:20 pm

Yeah, flav with all these positive threads reminds me of one of those scientology freaks that look at you all weird.

True story–my best buddy from HS got married a few years after we graduated in a scientology wedding that I went to at their building somewhere in Santa Clara early 70s. His poor cringing parents…talk about feeling like a fish out of water, all these people were just very strange.

      • chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:26 pm

Yeah, I met a few right out of active duty Air Force when I went back to college. Most of them were fucking odd-balls.

  6. unca_chuck said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:14 pm

Oh fuck me. That was low.

  7. chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:15 pm

Yeah, I don’t recall a lot of great Giant pitching performances by the Giants, but do recall a complete game shutout by Mike LaCoss Us the Game in 86. But as others have alluded, it was usually the opposing pitchers pitching the kick ass games.

      “Buffy” was a great nickname…

  8. snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:15 pm

I love the new thread header (threader?).
I was thinking along those fed up with this SOS hitting lines before I flipped over the last thread when Huddy finished his work in the 7th. The kick ass offense of April to mid June seems like about a decade ago. WTF happened to it? I heard Miller say that Morse donged 13 HRs in the first 63 games, then 3 HRs in the last 68 games. That is a WTF stat differential if ever there was one. Another hidden injury deal we’ll find out about in November?…

  9. unca_chuck said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:16 pm

Expo Dennis Martinez always seemed to kick our ass. Another thing that I don’t know is real or not, but it always seemed like it.

    • DJLoo said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:26 pm

Dennis Martinez admitted to realizing he had a drinking problem when he found himself constantly wondering how cold the wine would be back in his hotel refrigerator after the game. He was thinking about this on the mound.

      • unca_chuck said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:32 pm

No shit. That’s the weirdest story I’ve heard in quite a while.

      • wswins said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:37 pm

I seem to vaguely recall a series the Expos and dodgers had where he Martinez thru a no hitter a day after the expos were no hit themselves…am I right Loo?

      • DJLoo said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:39 pm

Rings a bell but might be the wrong Martinez…not sure

  10. paulinasia said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:26 pm

    * Snarkk, agree about Breaking Bad and about Aaron Paul. In fact, one reason I broke up with my gf in China earlier this year was she hated the Pinkman character. Clueless. 🙂 Oh, and I’ve gone back and streamed all 5 seasons again in my boring down-time this past year.
    * Speaking of China and indoor toxicity, I’ve had some health problems that might indeed be heavy metals poisoning (sorry if I mentioned this already). Once I get out of this toxic country next month, I’m checking into an int’l hospital in Bangkok or Saigon to get completely flushed and detoxed. Ugh. Craig, hope you and your coworkers are all ok.
    * Dominant pitching: I remember watching Rags’ no-hitter against the Sox on that July 4th back in the early ’80s. Pretty damned untouchable if I remember correctly.
    * I’m finding “Orange is the New Black” to be rather tedious. Although occasionally, there are some great one-liners, which might be why it was classified as comedy.
    * I’m not seeing these games, but Pagan *seems* to not be doing much. Anyone know if he’s still hurting?

    • chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:29 pm

Not sure if Pagan is hurting, but he sure the fuck is hurting me.

  11. snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:27 pm

You know, I DO remember listening to the Count’s no-hitter on radio back in ’76. Who it was against I have no clue. Really added to his brass ball cockiness, which was a cool thing for the previously dead-assed Giants since the ’71 post season ended. I was a fan of The Count, for sure. He was the Timmeh of his day, sort of…

    • DJLoo said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:30 pm

Thought we were gonna ride him and Pete Falcone for a decade…
      We’re in front!

      • snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:36 pm

Crap, I’d totally forgotten about Pete Falcone. Wiki says SF traded him to the Cards for Kenny Reitz. Reitz was a decent player, good fielding 3rd sacker, but I don’t remember much else of him…

  12. chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:30 pm

  16. chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:32 pm

I don’t recall details of the games (too many years and brain cells ago), but I remember listening to the Cardinals as a kid on the radio, and hearing some great games with Gibson on the hill.

  17. DJLoo said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:32 pm

    WTF? Both runners should’ve tagged.

    • unca_chuck said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:33 pm

      Right.

    • chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:36 pm

      Fundamentally fucked-up.

      • snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:41 pm

Giants do need to hit more, i.e., string hits together and score. But, first, IMO they need to get their baseball fundamental shit together. This error / give away runs stuff has to stop. They got a little lucky not giving away a run in the first with those two errors…

  18. DJLoo said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:37 pm

Speaking of great pitching performances, Hudson is spinning one tonight.

    • Macdog said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:47 pm

Right on, Chi. Time for Casilla to close this out.

  20. chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:43 pm

I don’t know how the fuck I got confused (earlier today) thinking that Petit was going tonight. What the fuck ever. As I mentioned earlier (two threads back) will be interesting if Tim gets the call to relieve Petit. How fucking strange would that be for Lincecum…

  21. willedav said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:45 pm

Posey has been mostly disappointing to me so far but he had a good road trip and he’s raking now. all the O last night with 2 bombs and now a clutch LD. Then he guns down the base stealer. Playing every day too.
Bochy has been rolling too. Starting Pagan on the 3-2 was good because otherwise Posey hit the ball too hard for him to score.
    Duffy has 2 hits tonite.
Blanco last night had 2 nice grabs early in LF
before Bum got in the groove.
8 solid tonight from Hudson leaves pen set up for weekend plus Petit day game. Still warm here, could be hitter friendly high scoring game tmw.

  22. snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:47 pm

I would have left Hudson in there…

Shades of the last time colo was in town.

  29. chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:52 pm

No shit Tom…my thoughts exactly (Hudson should still be in there). Fucking dude was dealing tonight…

    • snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:54 pm

Seriously, Chi. Sometimes I wish Bochy would throw away the book. Huddy was dealing in the 8th. Selipe Alou would have left Huddy in probably, he went with hunches and what his eyes told him. Bochy pulls the usual switches that make him comfortable. Then, Miller says Morneau was 5 out of 10 lifetime against Casilla. WTF?…

  30. Macdog said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:52 pm

Fall behind 2-0, serve one up to the NL’s leading hitter. Well played, Casilla.

  31. unca_chuck said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:53 pm

    • snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 9:57 pm

Bullshit move, sorry. If he was at 87 and laboring, OK. Unless Huddy told Rags he was done, I’m calling out Bochy for managing like a robot…

  69. chipower9 said, on August 27, 2014 at 10:31 pm

Forgot to mention…someone was talking about what happened to the offense from April and May. Someone mentioned how Morse hit almost all of his HRs early in the year, and I just remembered…a big part of that early production was courtesy of Brandon Hicks. Unreal.

    • paulinasia said, on August 27, 2014 at 10:36 pm

Yeah, and Crawford, too. And Belt. Light years ago, huh….

    • snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 10:37 pm

That was me, Chi. Yeah, Hicks was on an unreal roll, then fell off a cliff. Morse hit 13 of his 16 dingers essentially in the first half of the games played so far, then his power game just vaporized. I always default to a medical issue, so I’ll blame it on a typical secret Giants injury, giving him the benefit of the doubt. He did get a long double tonite…

  70. paulinasia said, on August 27, 2014 at 10:36 pm

Buster suddenly seems dialed in. And all business. Almost stoic. Nary a smile on his face in the video I saw. Whatever it takes.

And if he doesn’t make that backhand stab…no Dp

  72. snarkk said, on August 27, 2014 at 10:47 pm

Casilla’s blown 4 saves now in 15 save opportunities.
Not a good rate. So, what do the Giants do for the closer?
I’d give him one more opportunity, if he nails it, keep going with him….

    • blade3colorado said, on August 28, 2014 at 6:57 am

Yeah, and as I noted a few days ago, most of them in the last 2 weeks were blown. Only good news on this development is that I got the “vulture win” in one of my fantasy leagues. 🙂

  73. sportdude said, on August 27, 2014 at 10:50 pm

YES!!!! Gotta give Buster some love after I dogged him last week..
