So You’re Tellin’ Me There’s a Chance….

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 28, 2015

We’ve got a 0.1% chance of making the playoffs this year. That’s better than I thought. If we were able to sweep the Dodgers that would rank as one of the best things I’ve ever seen this team do. Maybe ranked right below the 3 world championships. One game at a time. “You could be walking around lucky and not even know it…..”

Hey, whatever happens, at least we aren’t the Nats. We don’t have petulant children like Harper. We don’t have stranglers like Papelbon. And our manager isn’t….well, you know……

Funny note about Williams and his sinking ship: He said he didn’t know the severity of the fight because he was on the other side of the dugout. Just how big is this dugout? A mile long? Was Williams asleep during the fight? He was probably doomed before the fight but he will get his proper firing at the end of the season. Guaranteed…..

I’m no Harp fan but I support him, to a degree, on this. Pap didn’t yell at him because he didn’t hustle, he yelled at him for the comment Harp made to the press the previous day about questioning Pap hitting Machado. Pap was looking to embarrass Harp the way he perceived to have been embarrassed by Harp in the press the day earlier. That’s stupid. And what exactly did Harper do wrong? He was at first base when the ball got caught. This wasn’t a ground ball that could have been misplayed, it was a lazy pop up. How often do those get dropped? It’s September, everyone is tired, I don’t see the point in running like a maniac out of the box on a lazy pop up with the 0.1% chance that the left fielder drops it and you give yourself a chance to make it to second base……

Need to end it here. This guy is susceptible to giving up the bomb. Let’s do it.

    Yumpin’ Yimi?

    Byrd! Do it now!

  3. snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:04 pm

Radio guys keep talkin about how many players LA has, Giants are almost out of players. Can’t the Giants bring up more guys if they put all the concussed guys on the DL so they’re off the 40? I don’t get that. They should be able to have as many bodies as LA…

  4. Bozo said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:05 pm

    Byrd, starting it off.

    • snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:08 pm

That guy has to come back next season. For $8 million, they’re not going to get anybody better on a one year deal …

      • Bozo said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:13 pm

        Agreed.

  5. snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:05 pm

Why is Tomlinson not bunting to move Byrd to 2nd?…

    • snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:06 pm

Wow! I still don’t get the no bunt there, what a hit by Tomlinson down two strikes!…

    • unca_chuck said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:07 pm

      That’s why

      • snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:09 pm

        Tomlinson saved Bochy there…

Got ’em where we want ’em . . . End it.

  9. zumiee said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:08 pm

The Dodgers are going to do that stupid thing they do that never works. Put in the extra infielder.

  10. Bozo said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:09 pm

Just a ball in the dirt could win this. Go Giants.

  11. unca_chuck said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:10 pm

Fuck this. Might as well bunt

  12. blade3colorado said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:11 pm

    Piano man.

  13. snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:13 pm

They must end this right now.
There’s one down. There is no force at home right now. Try the bunt, force them to make a play…

    STILL ALIVE!!!

  15. snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:14 pm

    Giants punk the Doghairs!…

    One down three to go.

  21. snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:17 pm

    Survived Greinke.
Onto Kershaw. Maybe he’ll pitch like a playoff game — Giants hammer him?
    Bum v. Kershaw — should be awesome…

  22. Bozo said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:20 pm

    Tony Bennett time.
2:15 back here, kinda tired but, hey, tomorrow we get Bum and that lefty guy they have.
    I’m in.

  23. willedav said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:21 pm

One down! Both mgrs. went all out, playoff like atmosphere…and still LA comes up short vs. seriously short handed Giants missing half their position player starters, vs. LA ace Greinke no less. Winning rally goes Byrd Tomlinson deAza 3 guys that weren’t even here til couple months ago.

    • Bozo said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:31 pm

      True dat!

  24. snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:24 pm

Gotta hand it to Peavy. He went toe to toe with Greinke, and did a great job.
Our Pen got it done, but not without white knuckle time. Casilla needs a day off, and Romo just should not pitch to lefties, Boch.
I still don’t know how the Giants are hanging in there with this LU. Maybe these kids are turning into major leaguers? Tomlinson had a helluva game with the glove, and the bat. He’s improved his glovework big time since he’s been up — Wotus has obviously been working the leather with him…

  25. snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:28 pm

Nice job on the post game, Kuip.
Great game, all he can do is mumble 10 words while chewing a Polish dog or something. Sheesh…

  26. zumiee said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:30 pm

All the more reason to love the Giants. (As if we needed more reasons.) 🙂
With half of the regular team out with injuries they are taking this into the final week and making the Dodgers and their fans sweat for it. Setting up another showdown tomorrow night. It’s a very cool thing. I’m as proud of these guys as ever. They have defended their title well, no matter what happens.

    • snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:38 pm

Probably some funny Dodger blog stuff going on right now…

      • zumiee said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:42 pm

Oh yeah. I was going to post some of it, but they are dropping so many F-bombs, that I didn’t. 🙂

      • snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:44 pm

Awesome! Can you imagine what Doghair fans would do if the Gyros DID sweep?…

      • zumiee said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:49 pm

It would be such an epic meltdown on the Dodger blogs, it would be spectacular. The wailing would be off-the-charts.

    • eddacker said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:40 pm

Yeah! What he said. Not a winning Season, way too many injuries and freak twists, but a great TEAM, fighting ALL THE WAY.

  27. zumiee said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:45 pm

One of the ironies is that the Giants have a chance to end up with more wins in the regular season than they had last season. The only difference is the Cubs snagging a Wild Card spot. All those years of being lousy finally paid off for the Cubs with all those high draft picks they were getting.

  28. willedav said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:51 pm

Yeah Zum, luv to hear Dodger fan bloggers singing blues.
Seriously tho, if you can’t beat Giants team with kids and subs in there and Greinke on the mound, they are going nowhere.

Jenkins said last week rumor was DTT is gonzo unless he wins it all (which everyone on the planet knows ain’t happening), and their old #12 Dusty B replaces him.

    • snarkk said, on September 28, 2015 at 11:55 pm

Dusty would probably do pretty well down there. But, he won’t manage their Pen too well. I still like him, though. But I will never forgive him for starting Livan over Woody in game 7, 2002 WS. As soon as he penciled that into the LU card, the game was toast…

    Here’s some Doghair fan fun:

WELP, that was our layup game.

And we clanked it. It’s really tough from here on out. You are just playing with fire when you give the Giants something to play for.

Madbum tomorrow, and Kersh pitching in a high leverage game. YAY.

“You are just playing with fire when you give the Giants something to play for.”

The Giants have so much more heart than the Dodgers, and the Dodger fans know it.

      • snarkk said, on September 29, 2015 at 12:10 am

Yeah, it’s amusing how the LA fans diss their own team that’s on the verge of a division title. And, we’re sitting here marveling at how a team of Trevor Brown and other no-name kids is somehow beating them…

  30. zumiee said, on September 29, 2015 at 12:06 am

Yeah, Wille, Two-trips’ job is on the line for sure. He wasn’t hired by their new front office. They’re going to want to have their own guy in there, whoever it is, unless the Dodgers go the distance this season.

  31. zumiee said, on September 29, 2015 at 12:10 am

Are the Dodgers now platooning Kendrick and Utley? That can’t be sitting too well with Kendrick. He was a key player for them much of the season. He is kind of dinged up, though. The Dodgers are not physically well, overall. They are lugging at the end.
