Jed York Sucks Balls

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 23, 2015

Isn’t it funny how different the 49ers and the Giants are? At least in terms of how they are run. Larry Baer is EVERYWHERE. It’s nice to hear a voice from the ownership group. The 49ers? I follow Jed York on twitter and besides some re-tweets the ONLY thing he’s said in a month is some reference to losing someone in the 49ers family. And I can’t remember hearing him speak actual words since he fired Harbaugh. WHERE IS THIS DUDE? He’s turned into Chris Cohan. And for someone who was so pompous with the press after he begun tearing the team apart telling us all about the *standard* being Super Bowl wins….well, he can go fuck himself. Worst owner in football and he has overseen a team that is now a complete embarrassment. What standard are you using to judge the team now, Jeddy boy?

Painful to feel like a Raiders fan 5 years ago. They couldn’t wait for Al to die. Well Jed is too young to die anytime soon, so the best thing we can do is grab some pitchforks and run him out of town. The little punk let a personal beef destroy a championship caliber team. He does not deserve to be involved with peewee football, let alone an NFL owner.

One of the sad things is that Jed is the only member of the York family that ever even acted interested in owning the Niners. The Yorks never wanted ownership in the first place; it was dropped into their laps when Eddie D. got into legal trouble with a casino. The Yorks have been a bummer. Jed strikes me as the typical rich person who was born on thirdbase and thinks he hit a triple.

BF may not like this, or may be he will. I can see Prince Jed bringing in David Shaw from Stanford to take over next year…

    • sfsarge said, on October 23, 2015 at 9:06 am

I doubt Shaw would want to leave. Why would he want to assume command of this dumpster fire?

      • chipower9 said, on October 23, 2015 at 9:40 am

No shit. I just cannot see that happening. Especially if Stanford continues to roll and does well this year.

  4. chipower9 said, on October 23, 2015 at 9:52 am

I did not see much of the game last night (maybe a few snaps). Thank fucking goodness! Long-time Niner fans have known all along that the Yorks are the worst fucking ownership on the planet. They have sucked balls from day fucking one! Do the franchise and its fans a favor and SELL THE FUCKING TEAM. A few years back there was a group lead by Brent Jones (included Steve Young) who wanted to buy the team. Make it happen!

Jed sucks and so does his right-hand man Baalke. They let personal issues with Harbaugh get in the way of making sound football decisions, and now we have this steaming pile of dog shit called the San Francisco Forty Niners. Those two asswhipes should have swallowed their pride and found a way to make it work with Harbaugh. And Baalke has absolutely sucked overall on his recent construction of the team. Fucking loser.

I am not a big Kawakami fan, but he had a piece recently titled “The Jed York 49ers: Out-classed, out-played, out-coached, out-quarterbacked and certainly out-owner-ed by the Seahawks.” Fuck, that can be said of just about any team in the NFL in comparison to the current Niners. Sad does not begin to describe it…

I have a friend who a couple of games ago surrendered his Niner season tix, and said he will not be back until there is a change of ownership. If I was in his shoes, I would do the same thing. Those fuckers would not get another dime of my money.

This is as bad, if not worse than the Joe Thomas years…and that was pretty fucking bleak. I am so fucking done with this franchise until they get new ownership. I will always be a Niner fan, but refuse to support the current cluster-fuck going on in Santa Clara. Fuck ’em.

Odds on Mark McGwire becoming the Oakland a’s hitting coach now? gotta be 10-1 or better. (Man was I glad to see Chili Davis quit that job.)

  6. Flavor said, on October 23, 2015 at 10:18 am

Shaw loves it at Stanford. I can’t see him ever leaving to be honest with you. Certainly not to hook up with someone as incompetent as York.

  8. unca_chuck said, on October 23, 2015 at 11:08 am

Ashley’s an idiot, but whatever. Funny thing is, Eddie started out this same way. Joe Thomas was an unmitigated disaster as GM. Bill Walsh saved his bacon, and Eddie eventually drove him off the reservation, and then got caught in the FBI sting. Sure, Eddie was a great owner. He had deep pockets and treated the players well, and signed guys they needed. His free spending ways (with Jerry Jerkoff) led to the salary cap and all the other constraints oin simply being a George Steinbrenner. Beyond that, Harbaugh has a lot to do with the state of the team as it is now.

Harbaugh was the offensive mastermind that drafted these underwhelming guys. Either that, or it was the wedge that split apart Baalke and Harbaugh. I’m of a mind that Harbaugh knew good and goddamn well that the Michigan job would be his for the taking at the beginning of last season, as Brady Hoke was not taking Michigan anywhere but mediocrity. So Harbs wanted a HUGE contract from Jed, or he would hit the road.

Either way, the damage was done and the die was cast. Who caused the front office rift?? Who knows? But if Harbaugh stayed, the team would NOT be in better shape than it is now. It would be the same tire fire. To think Harbaugh staying would have saved the season is lunacy. All of the retirements and defections would have happened anyway, and the talent level would be what it is now. A lot worse than last year. Plus all the animosity would be blowing up even worse as this season washes down the tubes. I liken Harbaugh’s departure to Pete Carroll’s leaving USC right before all the sanctions and shit came down on the program. He walks away as the Trojans are stripped of wins and Heismanns. they both saw the writing on the wall and hit the road before the avalanche.

That being said, Baalke’s next out the door. Along with this makeshift coaching staff. I thought the defense would be better than advertised, but it isn’t working out. They miss assignments with sickening regularity. They give up too many easy yards on 3rd down, The glaring needs on the team were not addressed in the draft, and the team is feeling it.

The offense is flat horrible. Kappy sucks, but what are they doing to slow the pass rush he inevitably faces every game as they fall behind every game? Nothing.

People who think they ‘deserve’ a team that is always great is the road Dennis drove down and lost his mind.

    • chipower9 said, on October 23, 2015 at 11:15 am

Not sure I agree with your spin that the team would NOT be in better shape than it is now with Harbaugh. We can agree to disagree on this one, but I have felt from the get-go that Tomsula was a terrible fucking decision. Clue-fucking-less.

And on your final comment about people who think they deserve a team that is always great…I don’t expect a team that is always great, but I expect compentency from top to bottom, and a team that is, at least regularly, competitive. This current cluster-fuck with Jeddy boy at the helm and Baalke as his right hand man will never get it done. I am done with this fucked-up organization. As I said earlier, I will always be a Niner fan, but will not support this current organization in any fucking way.

      • unca_chuck said, on October 23, 2015 at 12:01 pm

It would be worse with Harbaugh. Or the same. How much better would Harbaugh be with the talent drain the team had? One game? Any more than that is wishful thinking.

Look at Vic Fangio with a less star-studded defense. 2-4. I don’t see his presence here making a damn bit of difference.

Daniel Snyder has been a meddling turd forever in Washington. He goes through players coaches and GMs like I go through toilet paper. Fucking Jerry Jones has been his own worst enemy as GM forever as well. As far as Jed goes, well, we’re stuck with him as well. The hope is he gets his shit together and finds a GM worth a damn. If he can learn to hire the right people and get the fuck out of the way, then there’s hope.

This last clusterfuck has more to do with Baalke whiffing in the draft than anything else. Harbaugh did well with a team that was loaded with talent. But Jed’s right about Harbaugh. He had the players and didn’t get it done. His window shut. The talent all drafted in the mid 00’s got old and retired or left. Talent drafted by the much-maligned Scotty McLoughan.

Baalke is the guy on the plank now, and he’ll hit the bricks after this debacle of a season. Or they turn this shit around. Right.

      • chipower9 said, on October 23, 2015 at 1:52 pm

Harbaugh is a superior coach compared to Tomsula and Harbaugh had put together a much better staff. IMO, the team would be better. It was apparent during his stay here that he was able to motivate a team to play. Again, we can agree to disagree. I think Jed and Trent stepped on their dicks on that one. My opinion…and it isn’t changing.

  9. djloo27 said, on October 23, 2015 at 12:11 pm

No one knows the 49ers better than Chuck.
Feel so bad for you guys with your 5 rings.
    Ever meet a Lion fan?

  10. unca_chuck said, on October 23, 2015 at 1:43 pm

The point being, Baalke’s shitty drafts have more to do with the downturn than Jed and his tweets. I think the coaches are in over their heads as well, but Baalke didn’t draft for immediate need this draft.

I really thought the defense would be better than it is. That being said, the offense is terrible. The coaches have done nothing to slow down the relentless pass rush the team always faces when they (always) fall behind.

Tomsula may have been the wrong choice, but I don’t think ANY coach (up to and including the supposed savior Adam Gase, 2-4 in Chicago as the OC) would make much of a difference with this team. They lost too many parts.

    • chipower9 said, on October 23, 2015 at 1:56 pm

Jed is the clown who hired Baalke. So, IMO, he owns a shitload of what has gone down. I have no confidence at this time that he can hire the right people, and then get the fuck outta the way and let them do their jobs.

      • unca_chuck said, on October 23, 2015 at 3:43 pm

Scotty’s the one that drank himself out of the SF and Seattle jobs. How he does in Wash remains to be seen.

Jed hasn’t proven to be as meddlesome and idiotic as Jerry or Dan, but he’s leaning their direction.

My point in all this is the team was heading down the shitter with or without Harbaugh. In fact the long term damage may have been greater had he stayed. If he stayed, we’d be paying him 10 mill and there’d be a shitload of aninosity. Then again maybe this would have forced Baalke out. Harbaugh had pissed off everyone in the building, and his problems with Baalke were apparent to everyone.

Maybe rightly so, but we’ll never know. It has been my thought that he wanted out for the Michigan job. A job he dreamed about as a kid. He just sowed a shitload of turmoil to guarantee his own ouster.

At this point, fuck it. They are a trainwreck on the verge of becoming a major fucking BP oil spill.

  11. alleykat69 said, on October 23, 2015 at 2:52 pm

Yeah Chi’s that’s the difference right there from winning football teams and the losers.
Owners like Kraft,Rooney’s etc cut the checks and let the competent GM’s and Coach do their jobs and don’t meddle in like the Dorks, Jones, and Snyder’s fuck up their teams every season…

    • zumiee said, on October 23, 2015 at 3:05 pm

I’ll give Jones at least this: he’s willing to own the label of being a meddler. I saw an interview where he said the whole point of buying the Cowboys, for him, was so that he could be involved with the football decisions. And he did get 3 championships. But the last one was 20 years ago….

      • unca_chuck said, on October 23, 2015 at 3:45 pm

The ONLY reason he got 3 championships was Jimmy Johnson. Like Eddie and Bill. Owning the label of idiot does Jerry and the Cowboys no good. Like it may turn to be with Jed.

  12. zumiee said, on October 23, 2015 at 3:08 pm

    “Ever meet a Lion fan?”

I don’t think I have; and, man, I get tired of seeing the Lions on Thanksgiving. At some point, the NFL should retire the Lions’ privilege of playing every Thanksgiving. It’s just led to so many bad, blow-out games, with the Lions getting humiliated 80-90% of the time.

    • djloo27 said, on October 23, 2015 at 3:38 pm

I agree, Zum. Guess the league or the networks don’t care.

      • zumiee said, on October 23, 2015 at 3:43 pm

Yeah, I guess the NFL and the networks figure the vast majority of men would still rather watch a bad Lions game instead of talk with their families. 🙂

    • xoot said, on October 23, 2015 at 7:20 pm

I liked both Aoki-san and Marlon. Their imperfections are obvious. Both give everything they’ve got. The younger guy probably has more upside, as they say. Aoki could take a lot of quality lead off ABs next season.

actually, that’s not right. I know a small nor-Cal corporation that bought season tickets at Levis. I’ll have to check in with them. We usually talk about the Giants. If those folks turn against the 9ers that could be a dire sign.

I’m rooting for the NL, as I’m an NL guy. Go Mets. They have the arms. But, this one should be a good Series, on paper. 6 or 7 games. Gotta give KC props. It’s doggone hard to make it to the WSeries for two straight years. KC starters don’t match up to the Mets starters, but they play good D, have plenty of speed on the bases, some pop, and a definite advantage over the Mets with a lights out Pen. Seems pretty even to me. Mets in 6…

Oh man, just say no to Nori. Only OF I’d rank lower, including Blanco Pence and the kids, is Pagan.
Byrd is flat out better hitter—more XBHs and 31 rbis in 150 ABs. Good bench part time bat.
Kids have all the potential, Parker for power Williamson for everything else.
Blanco had great season and still better overall player.
Tomlinson had better BA and OB. Wouldn’t take much for him to be better OF too.

And didn’t the Rangers with Wash at the helm make it to WS twice in a row? I can’t watch the Royals.

As always, learning a lot here at the Flap Nation. I second Blade’s statement on the awesomeness of the 49ers discussion … and I’m not even a fan. I caught some of Thursdays’s game … ugh, … what a fiasco … unwatchable, in my opinion. I’d rather watch minor league baseball.

In any case, apologies for my long silence. I’ve had some soul crushing, spirit sucking, ‘life’ stuff going on that has waylaid me but but I’ve been following along in the ‘hymnal’ best I can, when I can. And, thanks Willedav for asking after me awhile back. I’m hangin in.

I’m pleased to see the Royals back in it. As we know only so well, back to back appearances in the WS is no minor feat. For that reason, I’m hoping KC succeeds this year but I hope it takes them the full 7 to get there … The more games the better, I say.

For anyone interested, I’m performing in SF as part of an Ornette Coleman tribute concert on Sunday at the Center for New Music, and again on Monday at The Second Act. The music will involve several groups of musicians, and in keeping true to the spirit of an homage to this great Jazz Master who recently passed, the music presented will most likely not be for the faint hearted.

Good morning. I’ve been working on this for a couple weeks but I didn’t want to jinx it- yesterday my offer on a home in Middletown was accepted. We have a deal and I went for a fast close so we’ll close escrow in a week. It’s a brick cottage, 1/2 acre, 2 BR, 1 Bath, 2 fireplaces, den ( my office), studio for Merna, root cellar ( I’ll use it as a torture dungeon), 2 large out buildings, fruit and nut trees- we love it and it was the ONLY affordable home in Middletown, and it’s close enough to “Downtown” so I can wheel in to see my Grocery Store Check Out Gamer Babes. Traveler’s really came through-they settled the claim already- and very generously. I played the “I just want a home to enjoy before I leave this mortal coil” card.

So- thanks for all the support -as always.

Re: Shaw going to the Niners. If Stanfoo makes it deep into the playoff for nat’l champ, that’s the time to exit as head coach. While you’re on top. If that happens, lots of NFL teams will be after him. Again. Especially if his offense keeps cranking. He could tell Jed, yeah, I’ll take it. But, Baalke’s out, and I hire my own player personnel chief and coaches. In other words, I’m head of the organization — you stand aside. Who knows? I think Prince Jed will not take several straight years of a fan S-storm and a half filled stadium without making some kind of big move again…

He was in the NFL for 9 years as an assistant, and his dad was the same for a bunch of NFL teams over a long career. He might not want to go back. Still, if someone gave you carte blanche over managing an NFL team, that’s a tempting deal…

  42. alleykat69 said, on October 24, 2015 at 12:14 pm

Best thing that could happen is Jed Dork and their whole clan of Dork’s walked away and sold the team!(Which unfortunately won’t ever happen)
That group headed up by Steve Young&Brent Jones and others to buy the team and gut out the dead carcasses at 4949 Centennial Rd and start fresh with a determined mind set would have been the only exciting prospects for 49er fans to believe in for the future.
For now are only laugh is a blowup penis with York spelled on it (Thursday night yawner game)by a disgruntled gal flipping the finger as well..Says it all, like the time the Houston Oilers were playing a Monday Night Football in the 80’s and getting blown out, as usual back then, and the camera shot up to the stands and panned into one Guy who was so pissed off and frustrated that he flipped the “Bird” for which Dandy Don laughed out that pretty much sums up this game..”So turn out the lights the party’s over”

I remember that Oilers game. I think SI ran a piece some years later with pictures of various fans like that guy flipping the bird along with the caption, “We’re #1.” It was pretty funny.

And I’d love to see a Steve Young-Brent Jones-led group somehow buy the team. Can’t see it happening, but I can wish.

we have a neighbor who used to play football for snodfart. i think it’s homecoming tonight but in any case they invited the twisco’s to the former player tailgate. supposed to be all sorts of folks, plunkett, maybe elway etc. i’m totally jealous. go indians!

eric, my HS in tuloland used to be Indians and have same colors mascot and fight song when I was there in ’60s.
Now they are “Firebirds” whatever the F that is.

Didn’t Oilers fans have paper bags? Saints too?

Meredith was f-ing funny. Cosell once ragged on a QB for throwing an interception, “right to the defensive back.”
DD told him, “Howard, sometimes they’re only guys who are open.”

Twin, good for you and Merna. Hoping it all works out well. Coincidentally called you today, but I got a recording saying the number has changed.

As long no one asks me what color my panties are, it’s all good.

So far, so good in H-Town. Though the worst of it is suppose to be in a couple hours. Talking about 10 inches when all is said and done. Really not a wind or storm surge issue as that was all left behind down in Mexico. Just a shit load of non-stop rain. Boys got their soccer games in just before the rains started at Noon. Got my Makers on ice by my side with college football on the tube. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday night.

Catching up on some comments from days ago, such as Oct. 21, mulling imaginary blockbuster trades involving Posey, Bum. Shows why I’d be a horrible GM. Too sentimental. Branch Rickey had a dictum, something like, “Trade them when they are great; you’ll get more for them.” I love the Rickey story Ralph Kiner told and retold. Kiner had won the batting crown or the homer crown or both, with the Pirates. He asked Rickey for a raise. You want a raise? Yessir. Why? I led the league. You did. What place did we come in? Last. Well, we can come in last without you.

WTF was Cespedes playing golf in Chicago the afternoon of the game that he came out of with a sore shoulder? You can F up your elbow, wrist, twist a knee in a squirrel hole, whatever, playing golf. During an NLCS? As much as I would like Cespedes on the Giants, that is just friggin stupid, and should not be allowed via contract. Play golf all you want in the offseason…

Yeah, if I recall, he’s done a few weird things like that. So has Matt Harvey, as we know. I’m happy for the Mets and their fans. But I do not like the Wilpons.

Interesting article in USA Today; the core of the Cubs talent isn’t as homegrown as I thought. They made several nice deals.
