This epic weekend of sports continues today with Stanford v the despised Notre Dame. Not going to this game but definitely will be watching it. Cardinal should roll……

There was twitter rabble of the Warriors possibly losing to the Suns last night. A 19 point drubbing took care of that nonsense.

No Giants news or even rumors has predictably slowed the blog down. Hope you guys don’t mind my “other sport” references until we have something baseball related to banter about…..

If the Giants have a minor leaguer that can hit, and is athletic, they should be able to find a spot for him in the outfield. Maybe it’s Arroyo. Any athlete that’s quick handed and runs well can play the outfield at least adequately, and learn to be better than adequate, IMO. Giants need to keep the bats coming. They should be able to buy one starter, fill in the other starter holes with somebody or bodies from the minors that proves worthy. Stop coddling these minor league pitchers with endless minor league prep and throw them into the fire, see who can stand the heat and flourish…

Alright, Warriors, don’t be sleeping on the Kings tonight. Could be a “trap game.” Just sayin.’ šŸ™‚

Oh, Cousins out for the game with a strained back. Golden State has it easy now. šŸ™‚

Congratulations Stanford football team and fans. That was a great game tonight vs. ND. Great win for the Cardinal.

thanks. This was such an emotional game. Can’t believe they pulled this off in spite of Shaw’s shit-time management.

I hate 2 teams in college football. USC and Notre Dame. So I went 1 for 2 tonight. Goddamn, what a kick……

    Bye bye Irish.

Good. Never forgive their gutless weasel coach for bailing on Cincy…

Great win for Stanford! National broadcast on prime time. Well done.

Shaw turtling up in crunch time almost killed ’em.

The Foo was lucky they didn’t overturn the TD call with 30 seconds. That would have allowed ND to run another play.

part of difference in Cards is Hogan as a senior QB. I still think Goff would be smarter, more mature physically and mentally and better prepared for NFL if he came back and played another year for Cal.
He is tremendous talent and fun to watch, but there aren’t any Arizona States in NFL. He can still light up teams like that next year and maybe give Cal a significant win over a top program.

With as much parity at top of college ball as there is today, 8 team playoff (at minimum) becomes a must.

As I saw in a story yesterday, Michigan State-Iowa is like a quarterfinal.

Nothing all that new in this article, but a pretty nice summary of the Giants’ contract situations:

Tigers are reportedly very close to snagging Zimmerman.

    • willedav said, on November 29, 2015 at 10:04 am

      done deal according to Heyman.

Anything to make of AL/NL SPs moving to different leagues?
      Sure worked well for Peavy.
Would a guy like Chen from Balt do better in NL?

      • snarkk said, on November 29, 2015 at 11:16 am

How is it that the Tigers constantly have big dough to throw around…

      • alleykat69 said, on November 29, 2015 at 11:19 am

And how come the Giants have the dough and never make a big splash?

Oooh, Raider’s worst nightmare—second play from scrimmage Titans blitz Carr and he takes elbow and shoulder to ribs and has to come out, but will go back in.
Titans D coached by Dick LeBeau, who played for Lions really long time ago.
part of trivia ? all L secondary with fellow corner Night Train Lane and safeties (Gary?) Lowe and Yale Lary.

Goff went off last night v Sun Devils, in his last game at home, most likely, 5 TD throws. Without Goff, Cal will go back to being around a 4-5 win team, as they always make huge mistakes that are killers, and Goff was sometimes able to overcome that. And, unless defense improves, which under Dykes, won’t. I wouldn’t cry if Dykes leaves, not at all. He runs a fun offense to watch, but he’s not going to win much with that approach. Trouble is, no coach worth a darn that can recruit will come to Cal. The least they can do is schedule day games at Cal. There isn’t a much better atmosphere for football than a fall afternoon at Memorial. I refuse to go to night games there…

Zimerman, 5 years for $110M. That sets the market pretty much for FA starters, above and below that talent level/pay grade. IMO, that guy seemed the most likely target for the Giants — middle of the road talent for a #3 or so, wouldn’t cost too much, in today’s crazy market where $20 million/year gets you a guy with a 3.5-4.0 ERA…

    • Flavor said, on November 29, 2015 at 1:59 pm

What do you think that does to Leake? I’m guessing 5 years 70 mil but I’m at Nordstrom and distracted by all the hot pieces of ass walking around me.

  15. alleykat69 said, on November 29, 2015 at 11:59 am

Above the level is still Price,Grienke,Cueto..
Of the 3 , im still all in for Grienke who’s pitched 3 straight good years before getting his opt out which now looks brilliant on his part with a huge payday ahead.
But as usual with the Giants will they go all in are dumpster dive?
Dumpster dive candidates … Lackey ( fuck no) Fister intriguing( like him if healthy and Rags&Gardner can get him straightened out , Leake & Smarpizza possible as well . Are do they go with a farm prospect? Then go after Cespedes? are Heyward?

Monmouth U. takes down another team from the overrated Pac-12, 83-73 over USC. This was a rematch, the Trojans winning earlier on their home floor. But on a neutral court in Disney, the Hawks won handily.

only dumbass Kobe Bryant would say goodbye with a poem. I counted 6 “love” references to basketball. He’s such an idiot……
    http://www.theplayerstribune.com/dear-basketball/

  18. Flavor said, on November 29, 2015 at 4:41 pm

Kobe is so FOS. he KNEW he was gonna retire at the end of the year but is only announcing it now to get the public to back him on some type of *goodbye tour*. Pretty hard to have the public back you when you jack up airballs all season long and then blame your teammates for the losses because they’re slow to rotate defensively. This retirement bullshit poem was the last card he had left to play.
    FUCK HIM. Hate Bryant.
“this season is all I have left to give…”
What a joke. First of all, you don’t give shit, you take. You take shots and you take money. About the only thing you’re *giving* this year is a top 3 pick to the Lakers for next year, one air ball at a time…….

    • blade3colorado said, on November 29, 2015 at 6:47 pm

I was thinking about adding my 2 cents about him, but you covered all the bases . . . i will say I’m still “shocked” this rapist was given a “get out of jail” card for what he did to that hotel employee in Colorado.

      • Flavor said, on November 29, 2015 at 6:53 pm

The rape thing is obviously one of the main reasons I hate him. But there are like 10 reasons. Maybe I’ll list a top 10 tomorrow……

    BYRON SCOTT ON KOBE’S RETIREMENT
“He kind of shocked me when he told me. just sad more than anything. Just sad more than anything. Somebody who I truly care about, have a lot of respect for. I think its always hard when greatness like Kobe decides to hang it up.”
This *shocked* him? Is Byron Scott even watching the games? This is the freaking coach who’s so starstruck by the past that he can’t even think straight.

  20. unca_chuck said, on November 29, 2015 at 6:28 pm

It’ll be funny when no onee gives a fuck about Kobe retiring.

People ain’t gonna come out in droves to see him miss 18 of 20.

    Fucking clown.

  21. Flavor said, on November 29, 2015 at 6:55 pm

Just checked the Laker score. Kobe starts out 0-5 from the field.

Wednesday I’m back in the world Flavor and get to ease back into DFS (prohibited overseas). Hope you don’t mind me bouncing some LUs off of you, until I get up to speed.

      • Flavor said, on November 29, 2015 at 7:16 pm

there’s a lot going on right now with DFS. Ruling coming out of NY from last Wed hearing that will tell a lot. NYAG looked like he was beaten 50 times (I watched the hearing live) but we’ll see what the decision is.

      • blade3colorado said, on November 29, 2015 at 7:24 pm

Just me, but I think that clown (NY AG) is just trying to make a name for himself. Congress determined that DFS takes skill . . . From personal experience, that’s unequivocally true.

      • Flavor said, on November 29, 2015 at 7:28 pm

he’s absolutely trying to make a name for himself. And his main contributor was the NY horse racing group

      • blade3colorado said, on November 29, 2015 at 7:33 pm

Right there is the evidence . . . I think the same shit is going down in Nevada with the casinos.

  22. zumiee said, on November 29, 2015 at 7:11 pm

Kobe didn’t thank James Naismith; Kobe only thanked “basketball.” And nothing about his coaches or teammates.

  23. Flavor said, on November 29, 2015 at 7:15 pm

currently 1 for 10. This makes me happy.

  24. zumiee said, on November 29, 2015 at 9:03 pm

    Patriots lost. I like it.
