College Basketball

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on February 20, 2016

Everywhere I look, college basketball. Pretty rad slate of games today. Can Duke avoid a letdown? Can the Tar Heels rebound from that improbable defeat? Speaking of rebounding, it’s time for Oklahoma to start winning again, right? And the Texas/Baylor game is going to be exciting. You wanna talk about an exciting college bball atmosphere? Score a ticket (if you can) to the Texas game today. It’s going to be crazy electric in the stands.

And in other news, Giants pitchers will play long toss and some players will carefully stretch out their obliques.

Watch the Texas/Baylor game today if you have nothing else to do. You won’t be disappointed. Same with Purdue/Indiana later this evening. Two games that are the essence of college bball.

I have no idea what that means – who are these “folks” who have seen Timmy pitch? Mom? Dad? Physician?

Seems like a near meaningless piece of info. Hope it’s true…

Saw a few comments on yesterday’s Flap re Adrianza. Yeah, I still don’t get why this guy is around. He can field, supposedly. Made plenty of miscues with the leather, as I remember last year. Can’t hit, although showed flashes with the bat late last year. Tomlinson proved all year he can play in the infield. Got better with the leather, and he can hit. No question which guy I’d take if it comes down to those two. Not even close…

Goodall gets paid $35 million a year by the NFL. That might be the stupidest salary in sports.

We were talking about Baggs…. he has a tremendous piece of writing today at “Giants Extra,” regarding Clayton Blackburn and the loss of Clayton’s older brother.

The Warriors/Clippers game is getting prime-time coverage tonight on ABC.

I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an NBA team that does as many successful backdoor cuts as the Warriors. They’re very committed to it, and they’ve gotten so good at it. It takes great passing, but it also takes great hands on the receiving end of the passes. They turn the ball over some, but the commitment to teamwork is just awesome.

that’s the thing that strikes me most: the passes are flying at them a million miles an hour in transition and traffic and they just seamlessly gather the ball for an easy layup. There’s no handle on that ball. The hand/eye it takes to do that at that speed is incredible to watch over and over.
