With you on the shitty day…one of my kid’s took a hockey stick to the head by another kid. 10 stitches later….

Sandoval had a bad day. Red Sox’s Shaw is completely burying Sandoval. Shaw had an HR and 5 RBIs today. He’s batting .324 and has 14 RBIs.

I think Pablo is just a big, dumb fat kid who doesn’t really give a shit about anything anyone thinks now that he’s hit the lotto. He’s got 3 WS rings so what else is there? Whatever it is seems to be to hard to get to with all the food there is to eat in the world. Too much food, too little time.
GH– sorry about your kid. Be happy it’s just stitches. He’ll be fine.

I stepped on a scale tonight for the first time in a while. It was pabloesque.

I could’ve sworn John Jay’s sox had pictures of Tim Raines on them. Turns out they’re Tony Gwynn themed sox. I can respect that.

When Jay was with the Cards it seemed like we couldn’t get him out in that ’14 playoff series.

Our buddy Melky is hitting .320 for the 15-6 White Sox.

On the other hand Willie Mays was 0-6 lifetime vs. Chi-Chi Olivo…

Chi, we may have to get a hotel in another NY borough. šŸ™‚

    Super 8 Bronx

    1.0/5 Poor
    “sleeping under a train”
The hotel is not in a good area. As 2 women, it was a little scary walking around, especially at night after getting off the train. Very limited parking!! The train passes on street the hotel is on and it comes by every 15-20 min. It’s loud and extremely bothersome. We barely slept all night. Walls are also super thin, I could hear the elevator and a baby crying all night long. The room was decent, upkeep is fine. The sheets: I was skeptical they were clean. The beds were comfortable. Overall a horrible experience. I ended up booking a different hotel for our second night and paid an additional $180. Complete waste of money.

    1.0/5 Poor
“overagressive staff and security. super trashy!”
The hotel is nice but the workers and most guests are super ghetto. We had a hotel worker and security guard pounding on our door at 3am because someone was smoking weed in the hotel. Apparently every guest was a suspect. Worst experience ever! The overnight auditor was beyond incompetent. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

    Howard Johnson Bronx

    1.0/ 5Poor
    “horrible”
Was the worst hotel I ever stayed at. The vending machine took my money and the staff never did anything about it. Than the front of the hotel was so slippery we kept falling. Than we went to use the microwave and it blew out the power. In the morning they put uncooked frozen eggs out to eat. When I told them the coffee machine in the breakfast room was stained and super dirty they said breakfast was over that I needed to go out and get my own coffee. I will never stay here ever.

    1.0 / 5Poor
    “Nasty hotel”
    Bugs and mice

    1.0 / 5Poor
    “Corrupt and Exploitative Management”
Booked this place for my girlfriend who was stranded. The first thing she was told was that the reservation was not showing up.She was distraught, tired and leaving, but she went back and let me speak to the frontdesk attendant manager. He then changed his tune and told me that the reservation had not been paid for(because he can rent the room for more money on an hourly basis)He continued to bark that she would need to give him the card.I was so frustrated with his shady business and personality that I strongly believed he was trying to take advantage of this young girl who was by herself, late in the night looking for a place to stay.I called Hotels.com and they answered and said that this horrible excuse for a business man had been paid and was trying to increase his rates as the hotel filled up and not honoring the rate that was agreed. She lives in the Bronx so the “essence of the city” doesn’t make her bashful like it may make others.Passing the hoes and smells of drugs is one thing but the room was a continuation of the “lobby’s” abject disregard for care and housekeeping. Roaches, crackheads,hoes,blood-stained walls, street artwork on the ceilings in the rooms, corrupt and exploitative management all at very inflated price ($140)!This place and it’s ownership truly deserve to lose their name and continue their business solely dealing with hourly rentals and not let legitimate folks get hoodwinked with the phony reviews.

    • zumiee said, on April 26, 2016 at 8:17 pm

Yeah, I usually draw the line at “blood-stained walls.”

I can already hear Chi’s response:
        Bed-check
        Shitter-check
Cheap whores outside the door- check
        Book it!

      • zumiee said, on April 26, 2016 at 8:50 pm

        Pitchers beware.

  22. zumiee said, on April 26, 2016 at 8:51 pm

Kershaw must think it’s the playoffs.

    • Macdog said, on April 26, 2016 at 8:53 pm

Maybe he doesn’t pitch well in months that start with a vowel.

  23. zumiee said, on April 26, 2016 at 8:58 pm

Pitcher batting 8th: I hate it.

  24. unca_chuck said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:00 pm

I suppose that has something to do with Craw’s low RBI totals.

Dude hits 21 bombs last year and this is where he bats? In front of the pitcher? At some point they have to put Pagan behind Craw.

  25. unca_chuck said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:02 pm

    Or Duff.

  26. unca_chuck said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:08 pm

  29. zumiee said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:32 pm

Part of Posey’s big salary is the great defense at catcher that he provides.

    • alleykat69 said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:39 pm

      Damm right about that Zumie!
Like I’ve mentioned before, Buster writes his own ticket on how long he wants to catch, besides no one handles a pitching staff better then him.Maybe Molina but his run will end soon..

  30. alleykat69 said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:34 pm

    Cueto’s dealing tonight!
That guy behind the plate ain’t bad either. Buster’s Busted 2 runners trying to steal off him & Cueto, plus the last one for a DP K& gun his ass down!!!

  31. unca_chuck said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:38 pm

One more run would be most excellent.

  32. snarkk said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:44 pm

How long are you guys in NYC? Hell, you can rent an apartment on the upper West Side for 3 nights and split it two ways for less than paying for a hotel. Seriously. And, you can walk to Zabars and get enough lox and bagels for breakfast to choke a horse. Why stay at a fleabag shooting gallery motel in the Bronx?…

  33. Macdog said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:45 pm

    • zumiee said, on April 26, 2016 at 9:54 pm

His stuff had good movement all night. And his locations were nails all night. An ace-type performance.

      • zumiee said, on April 26, 2016 at 10:05 pm

He hung a couple of pitches, but took advantage of the big ballpark.

    Kershaw takes the loss.

  44. Carstie Clausen said, on April 27, 2016 at 6:11 am

Come late July the Dagos should get quite a haul in position player prospects for James Shields. Imagine having a 3.53 ERA and being 0-4. Poor dude suffered yet another Caining last night as he took his 4th shutout loss. Needles to say, he has got to be the very picture of total frustration.

Other side of the ticket is the Giants probable best investment of the off-season and arguably (but not by much) our new horse. Like a stomping stallion smelling those oats in the barn he catches a whiff of a possible “W” and it’s hell’s bells. Looks more and more like he has become the team’s stopper, though it would be some while before he could wrest the ace status from the Carolina Cattleman. And who knows, SamWhatAm may even toss something round into the ring.

Now the hitting: Eke by and squeeze one out last night. Several of those guys couldn’t buy a hit off Shields. Buster gets a bye on accounta his two punchouts of would-be base thieves. Can’t quite say the same for Panik, Duffy and Pagan. Oh well, we won and they will come through in some upcoming games to atone for those venial sins last night.

With the Marlins topping Kershaw and the LaBumbos, the Giants are back to having their heads above water.

  45. unca_chuck said, on April 27, 2016 at 8:18 am

    Well, sea level anyway.
