BeanTown BeatDown?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 7, 2016

I actually think Suarez is going to do ok tonight. Boston likes to blast the ball out of the yard and that doesn’t really work at AT&T. Plus, they’re playing NL rules in an unfamiliar yard. I dunno, it just feels like he might not get blasted.

And who put this game on the schedule? Boston flies all the way out here for 2 interleague games? Then back to Minnesota? I bet they’re stoked about this trip. lulz.

It’s too bad Cleveland is doing well. I would have liked to have seen the Giants pick up Rajai Davis for 2 months.

Assuming they pick up a guy without a big contract, who are some of the names you’d like to see us look at? I’m on record as going with Carl Crawford just for the jokes on LA.

Team game lot of fingers to point if you want to go that route.
Honest tho after Casilla 9th I was sure that was all we’d see of him–can’t remember last time he went more than 1 full inning.

SD, outside of Bryce Harper and a few Royals, can’t think of any player more annoying than Hanley, now with an even dumber two tone braid hairstyle.
. LA doesn’t bother me near as much now he’s gone.
If I’d have been in the dugout, that intentional walk to him would have looked a little different.

The Sox didn’t dominate, the Giants just didn’t play as well. Giants have low margin for defensive and pitching mistakes…

The Giants are like a high school team right now.
Their best hitter and pitcher is the same guy…

Brown’s bad throw to second was big, too, let the runner go to third. If not for that, the Big Papi play doesn’t score a run…

I’m not that chapped about this game, nor am I that down on Casilla. He is what he is…a good closer, not a great one. I wouldn’t say he got shelled tonight. Bogaerts is a stud and battled him tough at a key moment.
Entertaining game against a fresh opponent, which was nice. Zumie will get us back on track tomorrow.
    Farewell and adieu gents…

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to bring home a Giants win. As always, should you fail, the Flap Secretary will disavow all knowledge of your actions. Good luck. This message will self-destruct in five seconds…

SanDiggity with the one voice of sanity amongst the swell of hot-headed Flappers…thanks for calming my ass down…I was still riled-up from last night’s mess…

Called it a day and trundled up to bed last night when the Giants went down in the 9th. Simply had that feeling. Giants usually score their runs early and have a helluva time rallying late to get a tally on the table. And with three of our best hitters hors de combat, what were the chances anyway. Chances of a walkoff dinger dropped from about one in eight to one in twenty.

Is Bochy losing his touch or do we need to also place a bunch of onus on Sabevans for not bringing in at least one veteran reliable reliever during the off-season? Casilla in the 10th was desperation ~ playing with fire. Team must be given some credit, though, for making a game of it and Suarez sure won his spurs last night with his fine start against the hardest hitting team in MLB.

I was REALLY on Bochy and Casilla last night, but agree with others, that there was plenty of blame to spread around. I was only half-kidding when I said last night that “maybe Lisle is right…maybe our 0ffense is weak.” Three runs against a team like Boston is not going to get it done on a regular basis. Granted, we are missing two of our biggest sticks, but it does point out what we all already know, and that is that the margin for error with this team is very slim. Last night they erred just a bit too much in a multitude of areas.

I am with SanDiggity on his 10:39, now that I had some time to sleep on this one.

But I still say that they have two glaring needs right now, and they need to be addressed sooner rather than later.

    1) I still feel they need to go trade for a quality OFer (NOT a stop-gap). Someone who can step in and play every day, and will be a viable option for a couple of years (since Pagan is PaGONE next year, and the marathon man – Pence – has seemed to developed some chinks in his armor).

    2) A solid bullpen arm. Someone mentioned Andrew Miller of the YankMees the other day, and I agree…we need a guy like that who can give you a couple of innings and is good against both lefties and righties. (Kind of like Affeldt in his prime).

Problem is, I don’t see Sabevans getting on either of these anytime soon. So, If they do not go get an OFer, then as someone else mentioned, start Parker REGULARLY. Let the kid start in 25 or so consecutive games and get some decent ABs, so they will truly know what they have.

Get us a W, Zumiee – and we will be anticipating the pictures.

I will be following via LameDay this evening. Going to see a young singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist named Sarah Jarosz that I have wanted to see for a very long time at a killer small venue in Grass Valley. Should be one kick-ass show.

Have a great time at the show, Chi! She’s great.
I’ll post some ballgame photos on Facebook. I don’t know how to post them at the Flap.
