13 Runs in 4 Innings?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 29, 2016

Let me be clear about this: I don’t like bullpen guys. What do they have to do? Go out there for 1 inning and throw as hard as they want? Boo hoo. If Peavy has a clean first inning tonight and then gets blown up in the 2nd we’d be calling for his retirement.

So I have very little patience for guys who can’t go an inning without giving up runs.

And we are halfway to the A’s sweeping us.

That brings up a valid consideration: Maybe we aren’t as good as our record indicates. While we’ve been busy slapping each other on the backs and dropping knowing dude head nods on all those who pass, it needs to be acknowledged that we have been beating up on some pretty average/pole smoking teams this year.

But, there is no dominant team in either league unless you want crown the Cubs ass. And we all know that success in the regular season means nothing come the post season……..

I say stick with Gillaspie and Parker as starters. Don’t platoon them. Pena at 2b.

Weirder things have happened. Just not very often. And not against the fuckin’ A’s.

I missed most of this one. What exactly did Williamson do?

    • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:02 pm

Illegal slide to cause a doubleplay.

Botched a fly ball by not calling for it, and running over Pena, and injuring him. Instead of the 3rd out, the inning turned into 3 runs….
because he also failed to catch a homerun ball right in his glove that dropped over the fence.

Hit into a doubleplay with the bases loaded.

Wow. I’m kind of bummed I missed all of that. Thanks for the update!

Also hit a foul grand slam that missed killing an infant by about 2 feet – obviously, not Mac’s fault.
Nobody seemed to notice. Why do people bring babies to ballgames?

Oh man…..when is DirectTV gonna throw me a free upgrade? I really need a DVR.

Panik on the 7 day DL.

They will prolly send mac the hack down and bring up yet another 2nd baseman.

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:17 pm

Wasn’t some veteran infielder just released by some team?
Can’t think of who it might’ve been (not Reyes)…

      • sandog said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:25 pm

        Omar Infante? Come On Down!!!

      • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:34 pm

        That’s the one!

      • unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:35 pm

It’ll probably be Grant Green. Don’t know if he’s any good but the used to be a kick ass bar there.

      • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:38 pm

        Well Grant Green’s versatile.
He sucks in a variety of ways…

Just saw the highlights, uh lowlights.

Tejada’s gaffe was just flat unforgivable. Pagan? WTF?

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:40 pm

I guess being in San Francisco inspired him to try a basket catch…

  9. djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:35 pm

Oakland is clearly the best team in the Bay Area…

    • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:49 pm

That’ll be consolation for the A’s when they watch the Giants in the playoffs. 🙂

In the attrition contest between the Giants and Dodgers, the Dodgers may have lost Pederson and Puig for a few games. Pederson ran into the wall hard last night, and Puig hit the wall hard tonight.

    • blade3colorado said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:01 pm

Hopefully, the wall is also on the 7 day DL concussion protocol.

      • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:09 pm

Apparently Pederson hit the wall at 19 MPH according to stat-cast. Yikes.

      • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:32 pm

Not much padding on the wall.

  11. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:10 pm

Pena is officially out with a sprained ankle. Bummer. I liked that guy.

  12. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:16 pm

More attrition: Dodgers’ Hernandez to the DL with a pulled muscle in his ribcage.

Just saw highlights/lowlights. Defense looked like the Keystone Kops. WTF was Pagan doing out in LF with those two miscues? And, Williamson was a one man wrecking crew. The guy plays OF like he’s two bricks shy of a load…
