13 Runs in 4 Innings?

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 29, 2016

Let me be clear about this: I don’t like bullpen guys. What do they have to do? Go out there for 1 inning and throw as hard as they want? Boo hoo. If Peavy has a clean first inning tonight and then gets blown up in the 2nd we’d be calling for his retirement.

So I have very little patience for guys who can’t go an inning without giving up runs.

And we are halfway to the A’s sweeping us.

That brings up a valid consideration: Maybe we aren’t as good as our record indicates. While we’ve been busy slapping each other on the backs and dropping knowing dude head nods on all those who pass, it needs to be acknowledged that we have been beating up on some pretty average/pole smoking teams this year.

But, there is no dominant team in either league unless you want crown the Cubs ass. And we all know that success in the regular season means nothing come the post season……..

I did laugh out loud when Alonso just hit his homer, just his second of the entire frickin season, and my 8 year old could not figure out why I was laughing…torture son torture and JUNK!

Flav’s 4-game sweep prognostication is looking like money right about now.

  4. gianthead said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:29 pm

I’m blaming this shit ass stadium…

  5. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:30 pm

Pagan is gluing it up tonight.

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:34 pm

Bumgarner is Peavy’s new investment advisor…

  8. pawliekokonuts said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:31 pm

At least LA lost. Doesn’t that 31-9 stretch seem long ago?

  9. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:31 pm

Turned this on just in time to see a home run a 3 base error hollowed by another error.

Did I see 40 pitches for Peavy in the 3rd?

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:32 pm

      No, you missed them…

    • James said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:33 pm

You need to watch this one from the beginning, if possible.

  10. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:33 pm

Peavy needs to reel himself in a bit.

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:37 pm

I can’t stand his hieroglyphics on the mound…such a baby

      • Flavor said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:40 pm

totally agree. Always disliked that about him. But considering all the fucked up shit that happened in this game, I’m willing to let this one go. Plus, come on, 16 mil…. 🙂

      • unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:59 pm

        ???

  11. Bozo said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:34 pm

OK,, the players hunting for skink before the game, was probably not the wisest move.

  12. pawliekokonuts said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:34 pm

    Gnight, girls. Time for bed.

  13. gianthead said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:34 pm

At least I don’t need to stay up until 2:30 am tonight….

  14. Flavor said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:37 pm

getting swindled for 16 mil, now this…..

  15. Macdog said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:43 pm

Peavy still has probably more money than most of the A’s.

    • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:46 pm

Yeah, Peavy got paid about $500,000 to pitch in this one game tonight.

  16. djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:45 pm

Baseball fields look so much better without those stupid fuckin’ striped designs mowed into them.
When and why the fuck did that become a necessity?

    • James said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:54 pm

They never exploited the full potential of artificial turf.

  17. Macdog said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:48 pm

Since it’s another blowout, will Posey get a rest from DHing?

  18. djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:53 pm

Still waiting for the revenge of last night’s beaning,
Was there ever a better game to do it?

  19. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 8:58 pm

On a shit night I thoroughly enjoyed the Ferlinghetti article Pawlie. Haven’t read him for a long time but I’ll get his last one. A giant perk of my job is working 3 blocks from City Lights bookstore.

    • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:02 pm

      Yeah, very cool article.

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:06 pm

I thought it was going to be a review of an Italian Restaurant…

    • wilcojoe said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:15 pm

I always enjoyed going into Vesuvio, the long time beatnik bar right there on the corner. At one time they had a great jukebox but last time I was there (about seven years ago) it was gone.

  20. wilcojoe said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:00 pm

Don’t feel too sorry for Peavy. He will get back all of his money and then some. The investment firm that the swindler worked for is one of the top RIA’s in Dallas. They manage billions in assets. They failed to superivise their advisor and this will get settled rather quickly. It’s a drop in the bucket for them.

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:03 pm

      Do they have any outfielders?

  21. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:08 pm

When Peavy shouted “What just happened?!” after Tejada dropped the pop-up, that was kind of funny.

  22. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:11 pm

That’ll be Bochy later tonight, wondering: what just happened?

  23. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:16 pm

Are we still out hitting them?

  24. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:22 pm

Mac the dull knife. Jesus. Pena’s hurt?

5 errors? Wtbf? Looks like I missed a lot.

    • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:30 pm

      A lot of crappy baseball.

At least the Dodgers lost, though.

  25. alleykat69 said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:27 pm

    Kruk the ultimate optimist..
Well this is a big AB for Span, down 7-zip( 2 outs)could use a hit to start a rally ??

  26. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:32 pm

I say stick with Gillaspie and Parker as starters. Don’t platoon them. Pena at 2b.

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:34 pm

      I agriee…

  27. alleykat69 said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:34 pm

Geez Amy I waited all night just for the exciting news of you saying OOO possible return to our team!
Your fucking killing me with that update!!

  28. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:35 pm

Weirder things have happened. Just not very often. And not against the fuckin’ A’s.

  29. sandog said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:52 pm

I missed most of this one. What exactly did Williamson do?

    • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:02 pm

Illegal slide to cause a doubleplay.

Botched a fly ball by not calling for it, and running over Pena, and injuring him. Instead of the 3rd out, the inning turned into 3 runs….
because he also failed to catch a homerun ball right in his glove that dropped over the fence.

Hit into a doubleplay with the bases loaded.

      • sandog said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:08 pm

Wow. I’m kind of bummed I missed all of that. Thanks for the update!

      • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:14 pm

Also hit a foul grand slam that missed killing an infant by about 2 feet – obviously, not Mac’s fault.
Nobody seemed to notice. Why do people bring babies to ballgames?

      • sandog said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:19 pm

Oh man…..when is DirectTV gonna throw me a free upgrade? I really need a DVR.

  30. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 9:54 pm

    Shit the bus, apparently.

  31. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:11 pm

Panik on the 7 day DL.

  32. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:12 pm

They will prolly send mac the hack down and bring up yet another 2nd baseman.

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:17 pm

Wasn’t some veteran infielder just released by some team?
Can’t think of who it might’ve been (not Reyes)…

      • sandog said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:25 pm

        Omar Infante? Come On Down!!!

      • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:34 pm

        That’s the one!

      • unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:35 pm

It’ll probably be Grant Green. Don’t know if he’s any good but the used to be a kick ass bar there.

      • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:38 pm

        Well Grant Green’s versatile.
He sucks in a variety of ways…

  33. unca_chuck said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:30 pm

Just saw the highlights, uh lowlights.

Tejada’s gaffe was just flat unforgivable. Pagan? WTF?

    • djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:40 pm

I guess being in San Francisco inspired him to try a basket catch…

  34. djloo27 said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:35 pm

Oakland is clearly the best team in the Bay Area…

    • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:49 pm

That’ll be consolation for the A’s when they watch the Giants in the playoffs. 🙂

  35. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 10:56 pm

In the attrition contest between the Giants and Dodgers, the Dodgers may have lost Pederson and Puig for a few games. Pederson ran into the wall hard last night, and Puig hit the wall hard tonight.

    • blade3colorado said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:01 pm

Hopefully, the wall is also on the 7 day DL concussion protocol.

      • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:09 pm

Apparently Pederson hit the wall at 19 MPH according to stat-cast. Yikes.

      • zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:32 pm

Not much padding on the wall.

  36. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:10 pm

Pena is officially out with a sprained ankle. Bummer. I liked that guy.

  37. zumiee said, on June 29, 2016 at 11:16 pm

More attrition: Dodgers’ Hernandez to the DL with a pulled muscle in his ribcage.

  38. snarkk said, on June 30, 2016 at 12:55 am

Just saw highlights/lowlights. Defense looked like the Keystone Kops. WTF was Pagan doing out in LF with those two miscues? And, Williamson was a one man wrecking crew. The guy plays OF like he’s two bricks shy of a load…
