A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Paging Cody Ross……

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 16, 2016

Maybe it’s time for Sabes to pull one of his fake-out, block-another-team, accidental score dumpster pick ups. Waive everyone. Claim everyone. This has become nearly impossible to watch.

The infuriating thing is that there really are no moves to make. Unless Cory Gearrin coming back gets your engine going. The outfield is Pagan, Span and Pence and they aren’t going anywhere. You see any open spots in the infield? I hear our catcher spot is locked up.

My idea for bringing Gearrin back is to DL this fucking lefty reliever with some sort of vaginal defect and see what happens with subtraction.

Other than that, I don’t see anything else that can be done to stop this long, slow slide to second place……

Maybe I’ve missed it, but have any of our lame beat writers asked Bochy about R-Kelly? At this point, I think the only way we get Kelly removed is if he takes out a gun and shoots the runner as he rounds third. Even then…….

If I’m Nunez I would be pissed off if I’m out on a double switch for OOO..,

Why they gotta do my boy Strick like that? I don’t like it.

  3. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:32 pm

Stricknyne was ready to blow. Great move.

    • blade3colorado said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:35 pm

Yeah, too bad K & K can’t be honest and say exactly that . . . Better yet, if they used your word for Strickland.

“Stricknyne is poison, so that’s why they got him the hell out of there.”

  4. blade3colorado said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:32 pm

Love the mental gymnastics of K & K explaining Strickland being replaced by Law.

    • gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:36 pm

Strickland had a shit stupid look on his face when he got yanked…I’m getting tired of him…

      • snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:38 pm

I really think Strick may be a brick or two shy of a load in pitching smarts. But, this is where a staff is supposed to be assisted by a catcher like Posey…

  5. gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:34 pm

Maybe Strickland can learn a few things about pitching from Derek I Fought the Law but Derek Law Won…those stats for Law are really really impressive. He should be the go to set up rightie from now on…

  6. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:34 pm

Kuip about 24 hours late on the Bastardo call.

  7. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:36 pm

They need to think about batting Panik 9th.

  8. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:36 pm

Dodgers pounded Phills in Philly 15-5. Giants go in there and get lucky to escape with 1 outta 3…

    NO-0-0 shit!!!

  10. gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:38 pm

This is quietly turning into a huge game with the Fodgers winning…

    “Nice AB from Span”
Did he get on base? No
Did he drive in a run? No
Did he advance the runner? No

  12. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:43 pm

Gyros batters 1-9 tonight with RISP, pretty much the usual game…

“Fuck it, Dude. Let’s go bowling.”

  14. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:50 pm

Law had McCutcheon down 0-2, then played footsy for four pitches and walked him. WTF kind of pitching is that? An experienced hitter is not going to offer at obvious slop…

  15. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:55 pm

    Pen blows it again…

  16. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:55 pm

  18. gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:56 pm

    Pisser…does McCutchen make that catch???

    • djloo27 said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:58 pm

      No one catches that, GH…

    • gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:59 pm

1-2 pitch that did not need to catch any part of the plate…it wasn’t where Posey had his glove but I think he crushes it where Posey had the glove anyway…should have gone way away with some junk..

  19. alleykat69 said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:57 pm

Lang fought the Law and the Law lost..

  20. blade3colorado said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:58 pm

Fucking wheels are falling off now with Law.

    • gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:00 pm

      Kid has been rattled…

  21. djloo27 said, on August 16, 2016 at 9:59 pm

The key was the backspin. Apparently some new home run hitting invention…

  22. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:00 pm

This Pen rarely seems to be able to cruise through an inning. There is always some bullshit. A walk, a bloop hit, a hit batter, a dinger, something that makes the inning a trial, and a stress inning that pressures the pitcher. At this point in the season, I don’t think it likely this Pen will suddenly become consistently good. Meanwhile, you better score more than 3 runs…

    • gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:01 pm

Just the continuation of one snake bite after the next…

    • alleykat69 said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:06 pm

This whole team couldn’t score in a whorehouse right now..

  23. blade3colorado said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:09 pm

    Double play? Of course.

  24. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:10 pm

This game has a very familiar look to it…

  25. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:10 pm

Wow. 3-1 count and a DP for Posey. Craw waves at shit.

    Way to fight, boys.

    Utterly pathetic.

  26. alleykat69 said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:15 pm

The perfect YouTube video for this team would be ” The Natural” Losing is a disease”

  27. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:17 pm

DL half the starters and bring back Pena, Tejada and Green…

  28. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:18 pm

I remember Dusty Baker saying something near the end of one spring training, when the team had been losing a lot of the games. “It’s only spring training” was tossed around, and Dusty said something like “I do NOT want these guys to get in the habit that losing is acceptable.” Has losing become acceptable to these guys? At some point, someone in this organization needs to step up and declare that getting used to losing is completely unacceptable. Kruk & Kuip ain’t gonna do that, they seem fine to just explain things away. It’s all on the players. Or… maybe they just really aren’t as good as we thought they were, as the W-L stats for the past month seem to indicate. I don’t want to admit (yet) that might be true, but….

    • snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:23 pm

At some point, the management and coaches need to do something. If they don’t do something to change things up, and I don’t mean moving one guy up or down in the order, what are they doing other than just writing up the LU card every game and just hoping something changes? DFA somebody’s ass and get somebody else in here, move Kelly, etc…

    • gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:28 pm

Pence is the only vocal leader they have and he just hasn’t seemed to be his old vocal leader self. Posey just isn’t the type. He is the quiet stoic that leads by example. We need the ass-stomping Pence back.

Span looks as if he has absolutely zero leadership abilities and Crawford and Belt have never stepped up as vocal leaders..

  29. gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:25 pm

    We needed that…

  30. Macdog said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:26 pm

Down a run in the 9th and Pence leads off with an AB that takes less time than Usain Bolt winning the 100 the other night.

  31. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:26 pm

Hey, Bucs gave the squad a gift error, so let’s get this…

  32. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:26 pm

    Don’t tease me. . .

  33. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:27 pm

Exactly why they shouldn’t walk OOO…

  34. Macdog said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:28 pm

This must be 000’s first career intentional walk.

  35. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:28 pm

Wow. Wouldn’t you be taking a pitch in this scenario? Situational atupidity

  36. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:29 pm

WTF kind of ABs were those by 000 and Span?
    Horrendous, bullshit at bats…

  37. xoot said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:29 pm

this team does not know how to win

  38. Macdog said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:29 pm

Ooops, wish they had walked him.

  39. gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:29 pm

I said I believe during that series in SD after the break that I had a bad feeling about the team and now we have fallen out of first…FUCK!!!!

  40. Macdog said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:31 pm

Did every batter that inning swing at the first pitch? Unreal.

  41. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:31 pm

Why not try a squeeze bunt there by Adrianza. You’ve got BLANCO on third, you put him in to PRun because he’s FAST. And, you take away the risk of exactly what happened, a bullshit pop up. You can even do a safety squeeze, don’t even need to risk a suicide because of Blanco’s speed. This team and management deserves to fuckin lose. They’re playing like losers….

    • gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:34 pm

Bochy never learned the translation for squeeze…

  42. unca_chuck said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:31 pm

2nd and 3rd with one out. And the next 2 guys swing at the first pitch and weakly ground out. Fuck these guys.

Fuck’em hard. This may be it for our glorious run. They are fucking playing stupid stupid stupid baseball. And they are doing nothing to stop the skid.

  43. zumiee said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:32 pm

It’s sadly funny that the team was better with the fill-in guys earlier in the season.
And OOO on the roster instead of Tomlinson is a joke.

    • zumiee said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:35 pm

And Blanco on the roster is a joke.

      • snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:43 pm

They could DFA his ass after this game and get Parker up here by breakfast. Would it cure all ills? Hell, probably not. But, something needs to be shaken up. What are they waiting for, LA to take over the division? Uh, yeah, I guess so…

  44. gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:33 pm

See Hurdle didn’t even recognize it was Adrianza up there…he thought it was still Nunez. So after that first intentional ball Hurdle said what the fuck are we doing??? That is Adrianza up there not Nunez, pitch to that motherfucker…

    • snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:46 pm

      Yeah, that was amusing…

  45. Macdog said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:33 pm

Hey, we’re now the top wild-card team!

    • blade3colorado said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:36 pm

Still plenty of time to fuck that up too.

    • zumiee said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:37 pm

  46. snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:35 pm

Fuck this management. You’ve got Bochy scratching his beard not doing shit different to make a play to win, and letting a BS coach constantly screw up at third. And two idiot batters swing at the first shit they see with one out and the tying run at third. Adrianza isn’t going to hit a sac fly, so he’s either going to K, hit a grounder, pop up, or get a hit. I say a squeeze bunt was the percentage move, given this batter has speed, and there is speed at third in Blanco, speed that YOU Put in to give yourself a better chance to score. Absolute friggin bullshit, brainless baseball…

    • gianthead said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:39 pm

I think Sunday’s loss was the equivalent to a serious body blow and they have been jarred as a team.

We all could yell for a shake up but we just don’t have impact players in the minor leagues and the only hitter I see who has been waived besides Gomez is light-hittong Junior Lake. And mgmt is certainly not shaking up the coaching staff…

  47. zumiee said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:39 pm

And we’re going to find out after the season that Will Smith’s knee is still messed up.

    • snarkk said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:44 pm

And, Posey has a bad disc or something? I’ve not seen anything on that other than he has “lower back pain”…

  48. alleykat69 said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:47 pm

I’m just so sick of Bochy’s dumb drawl comments after losses.. Eyes rolling, fatigue setting in, the same shit lines, wellllll we battled hard, a mistake pitch late, kinda got away from us,really had a chance at the end, but the boys couldn’t square one up, with their one pitch each approach.. But a real played game and welllllll were just keep battling tomorrow!!!

    • zumiee said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:50 pm

The team had a few hiccups, but they were feeling good, and they were close.

  49. djloo27 said, on August 16, 2016 at 10:57 pm

  51. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on August 16, 2016 at 11:15 pm

Losing is not acceptable. Losing is not acceptable. Losing is not acceptable. Repeat a gazillion times. That horrible spell of play in 2014 was so painful. This stretch this year seems even worse. And yet, they turned it around then… Glad it’s still only mid-August, still have time. But as Craig says, urgency time is upon them.

  52. Macdog said, on August 16, 2016 at 11:15 pm

Tomorrow’s matchup: Nova-Cain. Sounds about right.

  53. mrsprtdude said, on August 16, 2016 at 11:41 pm

losing so often just sucks. Worst stretch ever since 2010? Maybe. Sure seems like it…Hard to watch them play stupid baseball…
