Jed York: Reaping What’s Been Sown
Dear San Francisco Giant ownership: I usually spent the off season complaining about what you didn’t do, how you swung and missed again on signing a *real free agent*. How you penny-pinched your way through another winter…..
And then yesterday I watched Jay Glazer fire another 49er coach on twitter and I realized how thankful I should be that we have had such a stable ownership group over so many years. Can you imagine Larry Baer leaking info about Bochy being fired and having Peter Gammons or some other national idiot bust the story?
The York family is an embarrassment. There really isn’t another way to describe them. And listen up, NO self respecting coach or GM will come work for these idiots when the pattern of how they fire people is so clearly defined. Jim Harbaugh once famously kicked Jeddy out of the locker room announcing to everyone “this meeting is for men only.” Harbs had his faults but what a brilliantly phrased and prescient statement.
And today at 10am we get to hear from the little boy with the team toy blather away about *winning with class* and all of those famous *talks with my uncle* that I am positive NEVER HAPPEN. And if they do happen Jed isn’t listening because he’s a self centered punk who got a stadium built. Jed listens to no one but himself and the guy designing his cabana. He tells us about these *talks* with Eddie D because he knows it’s an easy way to calm 49er fans. Talk ’em off the ledge. Keep ’em buying PSL’s. I’m setting the o/u line of how many times Jed mentions *his uncle* at 4.5. Early betting now open. But whatever, I’ll listen into that *farce conference* because I’m a fucking sheep (or whatever the singular for sheep is). Niner fans will continue to get played the fool by this guy. He’s our own personal *Donald Trump* and the worst part is that he’s still going to be here in 4 years……
Niners have lost 30 of last 37 games.
You’d think it can’t get any worse than this for the Niners, but then again, look at the owner. This once proud team, save the Harbs “era”, has been an absolute disaster under the York ownership. I seriously think any Flapper could run the Niners better than Jed York. Chuck definitely could…
I know Lenny (From Mice&Men) could do a better job.Throw in Billy Bob Thornton (Slingblade)as well..

Frustration from #49ers coaches as it relates to GM Trent Baalke: He never talked to them. Never asked em what players they liked. Nothing.
Tough day for locals, as Raiders get blown out by Denver and have to go on road as 5 seed. The kid QB Cook might have to make his first ever start in playoff game…gonna need a lot of help from running game and D, neither of whom showed up yesterday.
Niners are such a train wreck I rarely watch them for very long. From the yard to the FO to lack of talented players, seem destined to bottom feed for a while. Too bad, because Seattle isn’t as dominating as they have been and neither AZ nor LA are very good either. Half way decent team could get to 8 Ws.
Doesn’t matter who coaches them tho if you don’t have a QB and pieces around him, esp line, on either side of ball..
Pro Football coaching is such a tough job with all the layers of position assistants and co-ordinators, plus myriad FO guys to maneuver around too. As wisco said on Chuck’s blog, being able to judge talent is such a key. Then you have to find a system that will work with who you have and have coaches at ground level to teach it and reinforce it at practice every day.., imo makes it so much more complicated than any other sport.
We all know what runs downhill tho and that’s been a problem in SF far too long.

According to @MikeGarafolo, Chip Kelly and others in the 49ers building wanted Dak Prescott in the draft but Baalke didn’t draft him. Wow.
You never know what will come out now in the wash after these firings. Hard to tell what is BS, what is true. But, what is consistent is that Prince Jed has presided over all this crap, for multiple years and multiple coaching regimes. What kind of owner/manager lets his organization continue when the management and staff don’t talk? The kind that is an idiot owner/manager full of himself. I don’t understand how people working in one organization in the same building with responsible jobs don’t talk with each other for long periods of time. Or, if they do talk, it’s about the weather or just to tell the other what decision has been unilaterally made. It’s inconceivable to me that this high level of dysfunction continues for years and years…
The 49ers seem to be a train wreck. I understand New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels may be in the mix for head coach. Maybe he has matured and is finally ready for a HC position. Dunno.
I only recall him being an unmitigated disaster as HC for Denver in 2009 and 2010. His poor decisions were mind boggling at the time. Again, maybe he’s learned from that experience and is finally ready to make the jump. Sure couldn’t hurt the Niners, who probably need a fresh start with a coach who’s led a top-five scoring offense that has been without Rob Gronkowski for the majority of the season and found itself playing inexperienced backups in lieu of a suspended Tom Brady for the first four games.
Everything that I have heard is that McDaniels wants to stay in NE and remain next in line after Bellichek..
Package McDaniels&Chris Ballard as the GM and we might have something.
I hope Buster Posey, Brandon Crawford and Johnny Cueto come to their senses regarding their participation in the World Baseball Classic. Any of you remember the aftermath of the 2013 WBC, where we had Pagan, Sandoval, Affeldt, Casilla, and Vogelsong playing in the tourney? Fat ass developed elbow issues; Pagan hurt his left hamstring in May and only played about 70 games; Voggie went 1-4 with an 8.06 ERA in his first eight regular-season starts; Casilla missed 47 games with a bone cyst; and, Jeremy made only 39 appearances due to oblique and groin injuries.
Ludicrous that any of them are thinking of playing in this tournament. Especially so for Posey.
Jarrett Parker, Mac Williamson, Michael Morse, Justin Ruggiano, and Gorkys Hernandez are all in the mix for the left field position. My money is on Parker to make the position his. I like his OBP and he is the only left-handed batter in the bunch, which might separate him from the pack.
Who do you guys like? IMO, Flav should do a future poll on this.
I don’t like any of those options. Morse? That has to be a feel good thing for spring training. Best case of those options is that the Parker/Mac platoon goes well. But, that is a total unknown IMO, and that’s assuming that Bochy actually gives that platoon time to sink or swim…
Blade, do we get a “none of the above choice???”
Gorkys will make the team to back up Span, as he is the only one out of this bunch, that can play center field. The other dude who might still get a chance to compete in left is Specs. However, I think he will be the utility infielder.
Oh yeah, go ahead and put “none of the above” out in left. By the by, what’s his batting average? Can he play defense? Is “None” his first name?
Dude, in other words – don’t hold your breath for Martinez, Cespedes, or anyone else. They aren’t coming to the Giants. lulz
Pure gold!
Where is Loo? If I don’t hear one Looism per day, I don’t sleep well.
Interesting looking at those still available in the free agent market. You could field a pretty decent lineup with what is out there. Here is a potential lineup:
1) Rajai Davis – CF righty
2) Chase Utley – 2b lefty…hate the bastard
3) Jose Bautista – LF righty
4) Mark Trumbo – RF righty
5) Mike Napoli – 1b righty
6) Luiz Valbuena – 3b lefty
7) Matt Wieters – C righty
8) Erik Aybar – SS switch
Bench: C – Suzuki; OF – Saunders and Moss, IF – Adam Lind, Kelly Johnson and Gordon Beckham
Pen: Closer – Greg Holland (assuming he is 100%) righty
Lefties: Jerry Blevins and Boone Logan
Righties: Travis Wood, Drew Storen and Neftali Feliz (or Romo..sorry Casilla you are outta here)
And the hardest part..the weak ass starters, but for starting in January what can you do…
1) Jason Hammel – Righty
2) Doug Fister – Righty
3) Jorge Dela Rosa – Lefty
4) Colby Lewis – Righty
5) Jared Weaver – Righty or
CJ Wilson – Lefty
This team could only survive as an AL type of team…so I would probably have Napoli DH and then have the lefty Lind play 1b and bat 5th…I think I could get this team signed for about $180 mill going $20 mill each for Bautista and Trumbo. Won’t win much but would still beat the A’s…
This thinking out loud idea also I think makes an argument that baseball could expand by 2 teams. If you had a draft where each existing team had to offer one unprotected player from their bench (top 10 prospects in the minors also protected), I think you could manage to create another complete roster out of those 30 potential players. Parker or Big Mac would likely be one of the players taken or Tomlinson from the Giants…
How long ago did they talk about contracting the A’s and Twins?
Jesus. I can’t even begin to get into the 49ers situation.
Baalke is behind nixing Adam Gase before Tomsula. And he nixed drafting Prescott?
I guess we don’t really know, but Paraag Marathe is the guy who is the designated leaker. How this guy still has a job is baffling. Guy has zero experience beyond his sucking ass with Jed and his fucking parents for 16 years now with the team.
