A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

The Worst Team in Baseball

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 3, 2017

You know, the Giants really aren’t so bad if you don’t watch them. Yeah, I discovered this last night while not watching them. The Warriors were in cruise control and it was nice to watch a pro team I like perform professionally.

My current problem is the box score. I was checking the box score fairly regularly and that wasn’t nice or fun. So I might have to cut that out. The Cardinals game is probably gonna get rained out today. We need more games like that on our schedule.

The calendar has barely crept into May and I’m already sick of this team. The idea of trading Belt was floated at the end of the last thread. Yes please! I doubt he’d bring much but I am ready to blow this half-assed play up. Preferably starting with the front office. Three championships doesn’t give you free reign to lackadaisically smoke the most copious amounts of pole the rest of your careers.

Anyway, try to muster up an argument that this isn’t the worst team in baseball. You can’t. With this payroll that’s a fucking embarrassment.

Smargj came up huge. Grab some pine Utley.

  2. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:13 pm

Why in fuck’s sake do you give him anything to hit? If there was ever a time to do the stupid 4-finger walk it was right there.

  3. chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:14 pm

Way this team is playing it may as well be 100-0.

  4. blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:16 pm

Posey gunning down his 2nd runner tonight.

  5. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:18 pm

    Typical.
Giants put runners on left and right inning to inning. Can’t get one in, can’t pee a drop.
Doghairs get one runner on third due to error. LA’s first hit of game drives him in…

  6. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:19 pm

Anyone know if Hwang is spending any time playing LF? As someone here said yesterday, really, it can’t be that hard….

  7. Lurker John said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:20 pm

Shark has been brilliant and efficient tonight and he’ll probably lose due to a boneheaded error by Panik. He deserves a better fate.

    • unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:24 pm

If you don’t score, you don’t win. This ain’t on Panik.

      • Lurker John said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:26 pm

It is as far as Samardzija giving up the run is concerned. He should have been out of the inning. Dropping a goddamn popup. The guy deserves better

      • chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:26 pm

        Bingo!

    • chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:26 pm

Paybacks for those shitty starts. He has sucked a lot this year (James had a great post about him and Morse last thread)…

  8. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:23 pm

    Off the outside corner

  9. chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:24 pm

Giants outhit bums last night, and are doing it again, but…

This all goes with what I had said regarding one run losses, and how one key hit in any one of those games could have turned a loss into a win.

    THAT is some frustrating bullshit…

  10. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:26 pm

Oh fuck me. It’s going to be easy to stop watching this dreck. The Niners will likely suck but at least they seem like they are on an upward trend.

I guess the baseball gods are getting their pound of flesh for 3 in 5. Both those Ks were balls . . .

  11. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:27 pm

    More Ks, sweet.
A month into the season, an everyday OFer is hitting below .175 with virtually no production, and OPS of .456.
You just cannot have that on a MLB team. Yet, Gorkys is there…

Difficult play by Nunez. Nice catch.

  14. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:37 pm

It doesn’t seem that long ago that the lineup was pretty solid top to bottom, not an easy out up and down. Now, there seems to be a window of maybe 2 or 3 hitters (like, this upcoming inning), and that’s it. Ouch.

  15. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:40 pm

    Yeah! We’ll take that.

  16. chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:40 pm

    These motherfuckers must score here!

  17. chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:41 pm

    New game!

  18. Macdog said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:42 pm

Hey, a gift run for us!

  19. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:42 pm

And that. How bout that offense?

  20. alleykat69 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:42 pm

Wow don’t see that one everyday!
    Ballsy sprint by Hunter!
The question is do they score??
I guess they do! Yippy ya yeah mother fucker!
    They call me Roy!!

  21. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:47 pm

What is the deal with Nunez? Is it just a cray outlandish thought to bat him lead off? Does Gorkys have to drop below the century mark to lose the job? I don’t get it at all. WTF is the issue?

  22. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:47 pm

A little surprised to see Smarje in there.

    • snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:48 pm

      You’d rather have Osich?…

  23. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:47 pm

There’s your Giants rally. We’ll take it.
In a late tie game, Dodger cockroaches have advantage of power bats…

  24. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:48 pm

Smarje is leaving the ball up.

    • snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:48 pm

At this late stage, he probably doesn’t want to give the ball up to the Gas Can Gang…

  25. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:48 pm

    There you go.

  26. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:49 pm

    Wow!!! Fuck off Kuiper.

    • Macdog said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:52 pm

      Hahaha.

    • snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:53 pm

What’d he say, or is that a Belt payback?…

      • Macdog said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:55 pm

I’m reading this to mean Kuip’s general disdain for Belt.

      • unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:58 pm

Yeah. They came all over themselves talking about Smarje. Nothing for Belt.

  27. chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:50 pm

Damn! Nice play by Belt and Shark!

  28. alleykat69 said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:51 pm

Brilliant play on both players Shark&Tank great hustle!!

  29. dirtnrocksnomo said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:51 pm

Nice toe tap on the line there. Samardzija must of played some football back in the day.

    • chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:01 pm

He was a hell of a linebacker, right?

  30. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:52 pm

    Gotta score now.
Going tied into bottom 9th with the Cockroaches at their nest is never a good idea…

  31. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:57 pm

    This is a joke.

  32. Macdog said, on May 3, 2017 at 9:58 pm

I think Specs wants to lend his glasses to that ump.

  33. chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:00 pm

    • blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:09 pm

      Or these guys.

      M. Melancon (CL)
      D. Law
      H. Strickland
      G. Kontos
      C. Gearrin
      S. Okert
      B. Morris
      J. Osich

  42. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:07 pm

Yep. Didn’t take long for Law to give up a hit…

  43. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:08 pm

At least Smardzxxx can’t lose it after a fine effort…

  44. zumiee said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:09 pm

    Color me amazed.

  45. alleykat69 said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:12 pm

    Sweet DP!
But can we fucking scratch out a run?Any run4
4 walks, 4 HBP, a called 3rd strike and Gorkys steals 3 bases???

  46. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:13 pm

Wendelfuck didn’t call that? Him and his dad can both rot in hell. Gorkys, 0-4 with a walk. That walk gets him 10 more shots at leadoff.

  47. alleykat69 said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:14 pm

Ok quickly scratch Gorkys , not a surprise..

  48. zumiee said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:14 pm

Gorkys has hit 3 flyballs tonight because that makes sense.

  49. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:14 pm

Come on Buster. Conga his ass home.

  54. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:20 pm

Why not put runners in motion with Posey up?…

  55. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:21 pm

    Maybe now.

  56. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:23 pm

Wow. Posey gets no respect. They are playing in. And they blame Belt.

  57. blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:24 pm

Agree AK . . . Frickin’ dude was asleep at the switch.

  59. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:24 pm

    Come on Arroyo…

  60. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:25 pm

I remember years ago in Bosstown when Jim Rice, later in his career, just had no more power anymore. Hit a lot of line drive singles. Fans hated that, seeing a pure power hitter becomes a singles hitter. It was a little sad, but as it turned out, his eyes had gone bad. He still hit a lot of singles. Buster seems headed in that direction too, and I don’t really mind. Singles are better than no singles.

  61. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:25 pm

Insane. You have to send Belt there.

    • blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:26 pm

Only one out, you have to send him. They would have still had runners in scoring position. Stupid.

      • chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:28 pm

Absolutely! Fucking bonehead not to send Belt!

  62. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:26 pm

Fuck I’d take a suicide squeeze here

  63. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:27 pm

Only the giants can get a walk and 2 singles and turn it into zip. Fuck this team.

  64. chipower9 said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:27 pm

Fuck. Story of this shit team!

  65. snarkk said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:28 pm

    Game over.
    Giants are flat pathetic.
If Doghairs don’t win it right now, it’ll be a miracle…

  66. blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:29 pm

Fire that fuck Nevin on the spot when he gets back to the dugout.

  67. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:29 pm

They were playing Posey deep enough to send Belt.

  68. alleykat69 said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:29 pm

Just a disgrace of a inning!!
Fuck this team couldn’t score in a whorehouse!!
Did Nevin get a pep talk from Roberto Kelly before that inning started???Fuck I’m pissed 😡

  69. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:30 pm

    Oh yeah. Here we go.

  70. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:30 pm

I don’t really see these games except when I watch video, but I’m wondering if the team is playing tight. Generally, playing loose, you’ll perform better. When the offense is this offensive, there is absolutely no margin for error (have a few runs, then Panik’s error and the unearned run wouldn’t be such a big deal). No room for error makes them tense, and they don’t perform as well. They’re afraid of making a mistake. Solution: play loose, even if they suck. Ha.

  71. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:31 pm

    How bout that Brian Hoyer?

  72. zumiee said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:31 pm

Where’s Melancon? Saving him for next inning?

  73. blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:31 pm

Doghair announcers are saying the same thing. Also, pointing out that Posey was pissed at Nevin for not sending Belt. Idiot. Only reason why the fuck has the job is because he knows Bochy from San Diego.

    • blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:32 pm

What’s Kuip and Kruk saying? Defending Nevin I bet.

      • zumiee said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:33 pm

K&K said nothing negative about it.

      • blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:34 pm

        Figures.

      • zumiee said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:35 pm

        Yep.

      • unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:36 pm

They just said that they weren’t sure if Belt got a good jump. Which is bullshit.

      • Macdog said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:37 pm

Kuip made some remark that Belt may or may not have gotten a good jump, but it looked like he did on replay.

      • blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:39 pm

That’s what it looked like to me too Mac.

  74. unca_chuck said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:32 pm

    Saving him for next season.

    • blade3colorado said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:33 pm

      lulz

  75. Macdog said, on May 3, 2017 at 10:32 pm

Agree with everyone, gotta be aggressive there and go on anything not hit to Puig.
