Unwanted
As the trade pieces start to fall around mlb, we sit and watch no one want any of our players. Maybe dumb Nunie. He might go. I keep praying Brandon Belt and his maddening inability to hit a fastball will go but I’ve accepted no one wants him either. We are stuck with basically everyone who is here, blisters and all, this is your team.
Anyway, I can’t be emotionally dragged down by any of this nonsense right now. Del Mar opens today and while I won’t be there, sadly, this is one of the great days of the year. This is the most beautiful sight in the world to me. To each his own I guess:
The great Wilco Joe sent me these 2 pics. Kid looks like a gamer. Murph looks the same as he did in ’54. How is that possible?
Shit, I miss the 9 hole golf course in the middle of Bay Meadows, Russell Base, and the incomparable horse Hoof Hearted.
me too.
Yeah that 9 hole course was fun to play!
Made a nice killing once at the track with Russell Baze, who’s usually always the favorite but not this time, I was watching the horses in the Paddock and noticed this horse “My Runaway ” take a huge dump before heading out( think Baze smirked as well) so I figured he had to be lighter& happier now!
Put a $100.00 down at 25/1 and sure enough he won going away! Drinks were on me after that!🍺🥃🍹🍻😎🤠
As I see mentioned on Twitter, Boston appears to be a good spot for Nunez now that the Red Sox lost out on Frazier.
Great photos! Wilco brings a victory!
CF Denard Span (L)
2B Miguel Gomez (S)
1B Brandon Belt (L)
SS B. Crawford (L)
3B Conor Gillaspie (L)
C Nick Hundley (R)
LF Kelby Tomlinson (R)
RF G. Hernandez (R)
P Matt Cain (R)
Scrubinis rule!
Wow! That’s a pretty depressing lineup. How many would have started for the 60’s Giants?>>>Crawford…period.
I can’t remember if I wrote last week about running into Gavin Newsome and talking Giants and both of us shaking our heads…with win last night, Bochy 9 over .500 right????
Another loss last night would have put him just 7 over and on the precipice of a free fall to below the Bochy Line…
Ha…I’m sure you and Gavin had a lot to discuss on politics, eh? 😉
I’m just seeing the Frazier trade…the Yanks are going to play him at first??? Good luck with that. Still think they may still be interested in Belt. Frazier is a free agent after this season and they don’t have to pay hin past this year and could then easily afford Belt….

via http://cbssportsapp.com
If take anything for Strik and Smardaramjam
AndnYanks did not give up one of their top OF prospects….
Any call about are coaching staff?
they don’t want Belt, no one does. And Bird is coming back next year, Frazier is perfect for them for 1 year.
The Durocher biography is very interesting. He was kind of a Zelig of baseball. He won a championship playing with the Yankees during the Ruth era. He won a championship playing with the Cardinals’ Gas House Gang, with Dizzy Dean.
As a manager, he was with the Dodgers when they integrated baseball with Robinson. He was with the Giants when Mays arrived. His career arc reminds me of Dusty Baker’s, with all the things Dusty has experienced as a player and manager. Their personalities are different. Baker’s the better person on a personable level. But both were right there when amazing baseball things happened.
Dusty just needs that championship as a manager to cap it all off. Durocher got his in ’54.
Dusty’s bizarre management of his pitching staff, which continues to this day, will likely mean no championship for him.
If today’s any indication, Yanks still need a starting pitcher.
At this point, Samardzija is who he is and moving him would be good but the uncertainty around Cueto is probably too much for Booby to handle. Plus, I remember something about how Samardzija really wanted to come to SF and worked with the FO to make it happen so there’s the Good Soldier aspect to it too.
I’d be more interested to see them offload Span in anyway possible.
i imagine that last line will have San Dawg doing a slow burn
He laid down a perfect bunt last night so I’ll give him that.
Great pictures, Wilco. Way to bring home a W last night!
Is everybody still seeing the 2012 championship flag showing at the Flap site? I’m seeing an unrelated photo.
Seeing the same thing Zumie.
What stadium is that? Are was..
hmmmm. no idea how that got there. The Flap hacked?
Amy looks embalmed…
Funny (or sad) how everyone revolving around the team looks old and used up all of a sudden.
Wilco what did your son think of the park/seats/vibe/etc?
Yeah even Kontos isn’t the same player after he tried to give Amy G some pointers with no success at a golf course..
Cain should’ve been yanked after he walked the AL pitcher.
i replaced that random field pic with the 2012 flag photo. The thing about those pics to the right, those are just links so I guess if the link somehow changes or gets edited the pic will change. Although I agree, that was strange to see.
Looked like the epic homer at Citifield.
Only a double in this stupid park…
The Giants do absolutely nothing well…
Turn a double play?
OK, one thing…
I have a feeling the Giants are going to get about as much out of Melancon as LA got out of Schmidt…
Unfortunately, your analogy is probably right on…
Span Splash!
And all of 375 feet. Makes you wonder why they’re so rare…
Jesus. Can’t Gillaspie see the play in front of him?
Stanton pulls even for the MLB HR lead with his 30th today.
Fuck this team! Here’s what happens. Giant blow a big opportunity in the bottom of the 6th? Check.
Cleve comes up and rakes Cain for a quick 3 before Bochy thinks that he should pull him.
Deja Vu…all over again…
Check&Checkmate Skippy!
They’d probably crush us at this game, too:
Today’s brain fart is brought to you by Bush’s Baked Beans.
OOO had two hits today, and is hitting .309.
Like that makes any sense.
I like Specs, though he’s kind of not come through in the clutch today, twice.
My like is relative, based on the schmos the Giants have put on and off the 25 this year. Thing is, I doubt he makes the 25 on anybody in the West except the Pads, and maybe not even them…
I think he’s wearing his reading glasses today…
Santana’s Billy Buckner moment ball thru the 5 hole..
Posey in a pinch!
God Francona is a dumbshit!
You to pitch to Posey with a base open and Gorky on deck WTF ?? Stupid decision!!
Hilarious. And so is this.
Welcome to your nightmare.
Who knew Alice Cooper tanned?
Seems like the weekday afternoon, series finale, give up scrub lineup has never won a game in history…
HP ump has cataracts…
This should replace Eastwood for the rest of this honky season…
Party like it’s 1954!
Did Krukow’s wife pick out those chic glasses 👓 he’s wearing? He really is losing it now..
Mike Leake so far tonight: 2 IP – 7 Runs – 10 hits
Flav, to answer your question from above, my son loved the ballpark. We were so stoked about the field club access to the walkway where the players walk past us that we never really made it anywhere else in the stadium. At one point Willie Mays came out of the Giants locker room (I told my son he was likely there to give the team a pep talk) and got into a golf cart (you can see it behind Murph and next to that is Dave Fleming in the shades) and drove right past us. I was in such shock, I couldn’t even get my phone out of my damn pocket in time to snap a pic.
That is so bad ass, Wilco. Glad you and your son had such a kick-ass time. You need to get your butt out here more often my friend….
I was blown away at how many people were in the dugout store, two hours prior to first pitch. I have a feeling that a good 10-20% of the crowd are actually tourists (like myself). I think Snarkk’s comparison to the Cubs and Wrigley is quite accurate.
First time I saw them rally late to win- -this year. Is this the first time?
It’s happened, but it’s been rare.
Just getting a win has been rare.
MLB.com reporter & MLB trade rumors tweeting Giants will sign Sandoval.
Met fans must get a charge out of seeing Turner & Murphy 1-2 in NL batting.
And 6 years after the Beltran deal, I think you can safely call Wheeler an injury prone flop…
If SF signs that sack of shit wash up, I will go full Snarkk/BF cynical . . . hype up the news cycle for a few weeks . . . asinine and contemptible.
I don’t see any downside to it.
Why hold a grudge?
At least he’ll bring some entertainment value…
Well, they could’ve given me the $500,000. There’s a downside. Sell out streak “ends,” sign the Panda!
Ditto. By the by, Gianthead should audition for Forrest Gump if they ever do a remake or sequel. Gavin Newsome???
I know! G-Head and Gavin…best buds…talking politics. 😉
How about a Willie hitting 4 sequence? The Giants win the Pennant!!! The Giants win the Pennant!!! The Giants win the Pennant!!! The Giants win the Pennant!!! The Giants win the Pennant!!! The Giants win the Pennant!!!
He’s baaaaaaaaaack! I told you guys a couple of days ago if there is a warehouse full of Panda Hat inventory, Baer brings him back. Sure enough, Tolbert reports that a truckload of Panda hats is out of the warehouse on the way up 80 to Raley Field. Tolbert ripped me off for content! :)…
Baer didn’t visit his Rabbi — he consulted Kushner.
lulz…
Double-lutz. I heard Baer was the NINTH person in the meeting at trump tower…
One reunion I’d like. Sign Timmy to a non roster spot, bring him in to start the last game of the season– Fan Appreciation Day. Regardless of result, take him out to massive standing O after first batter is done…
Great idea!
James, don’t lump me into that group, I’m fine with Panda coming back. In fact, skip the AAA stint what’s the point? Prove you can hit? lol, If that’s the bar send the entire team down there. I want Panda back for 100% entertainment value. That’s it.
The group I was lumping you in with was the front office doesn’t give a fuck contingent. Who am I to enforce ideological consistency on anyone?
the front office and me don’t have similar values. They’re trying to sell shit, probably fucking hats in this case. I just want to watch someone other than Ryder Loser or The Donger fuck around. And yes, I know they wouldn’t be playing at the same time, that’s not the point.
Nunez is gone soon, Arroyo’s on the shelf, The Donger can’t stay up. It’s Panda Time.
Hold the phone
Pablo Sandoval told ESPN’s Marly Rivera that he has not yet decided where he will sign following his release from the Red Sox.
He has a choice? lmao
who cares, The British Open starts in like 3 hours. Yes, I will get up at 3 or 4 am and catch some of it. I am insane like that.
Yep, gotta love watching the British Open – Royal Birkdale this year, a Beaut :

thanks. I know where they’re playing.
in this lost season, nobody could possibly be bummed Pablo is back unless you’re bummed he’s going to toil away in triple A for 2 months.
“When the lights go down in The Citaay . . . .”
The Honky Tonk man, pretty funny Dirt.
OK, the reasons of why you just say no to Sandoval are endless. The first one would simply be the Giants already have like 9 3b. With so many other positions of need, why the F bother with one more longshot?
Baggs had a column on this with about 5 preconditions laid down by SF. Among others, his conditioning is supervised and monitored by the Giantss and he starts like in the AZ rookie league or somewhere far removed from ml baseball.
sometime over the weekend the pregame guy asked Pavs about it, and he said NO it’s not happening—too many bridges burnt on the way out that were definitely remembered in clubhouse. I don’t think he fits anywhere near Posey’s HonkyTown.
2 Ws this week and it’s only Wed.? More Wilco and son, pls.
when you’re 30 games back I defy you to list 9 3rd basemen you’d rather watch play for us right now than the great Pablo Sandoval. He’s done more than those 9 will ever do in their career and we have nothing, NOTHING, to look forward to right now. If you think Ryder Jones is coming to the rescue I pity your enthusiasm.
Nice pics, Wilco! A win is a win.
Panda? Well if anyone else on this sinking ship was remotely good they’d be playing. As it is, why not? Nooner will either hit the DL or go, Hwang Dang Doodle will be hwinging back to Korea soon enough, arroyo is on the shelf, Specs is Specs. He ain’t starter material. So that leaves . . . . El Bastardo Gordo.
Hwang Dang Doodle…All Nite Long. lulz…
As to marketing, I think Sandoval stuff would be the equivalent of Crazy Crab. He engendered a lot of disfavor over the years even before he left; all the injury filled suckitude in boston, after signing the huge contract, has eroded whatever good feelings anyone might have had.
I think there are more Giants fans that would happily take back one legged Duffy before Sandoval.
well you’re wrong. He’d be a huge hit. They might not bring him up but if they do, watch out. Panda hats will fly off the shelf
“resounding” might be better than huge.
Zero interest in Panda coming back. If we’re going that route, I want Melky back.
http://www.csnbayarea.com/video/happy-hour-why-are-giants-reportedly-bringing-pablo-back
Ray Ratto pretty funny here.
Good luck trying to get any of us to click on a Ray Ratto link.
no doubt. Ratto? No thank you.
I’m not convinced the Panda will get a great reception in SF. It might be chillier than the front office thinks.
Fans are fickle, though. If he comes back raking, the fans will jump onboard the Panda bus. But can he take anymore? Seems doubtful.
I mean “rake” not take.
I looked at 5 minutes worth of that Super ’70s Sports twitter feed. It is just friggin’ hilarious, one right after the other. I laughed out loud at some of that shit. I think I saw Panda in one of them…
“Citaay”
I love the spelling of that. Steve Perry made “city” rhyme with “bay.” We have to appreciate that level of commitment.
Fat boy burned a lot of bridges out the door, saying he only liked Pence&Bochy. If im a player I would tell himStick it up your Fat Panda Ass where the sun don’t shine!”
This organization is really making this season a mockery. Its just turning into a cheesy carnival act now..
It has to be Bochy more than anyone making the call on this.( Good solider yada yada ,Boch needs to get out after this season,he’s always for bringing back a relic, it’s ludicrous)Really doubt Sabes even Booby are on board, but will give the knowing nod for Boch for the years tendered..
Cheesy carnival act…hey, can’t be any worse than this year’s circus of horrors…
I was initially against the thought of bringing back Pablo, but WTF…look at this fucking house of horrors that is this year, and tell me why not roll the dice. As Flav mentions, and I agree…if for nothing else, for the pure entertainment value.
And I am with Blade…I would take Melky back in a heartbeat over Panda…if for nothing else to see the MelkMaids again…
BTW – Melky’s stat line for the year:
360 AB – .286, .330, .425, .755 – 12 HR, 54 RBI
That would lead our sorry-ass team in RBIs, be 2nd in HR, and 5th in OPS…
Sando’s last halfway decent season was 2014, 3 yrs ago, .740 OPS, far cry from earlier years and a harbinger of downward slide to come.
Nunez can do that, so can Gillaspie given regular ABs and neither won’t ever have to weigh in.
Honest, I’d rather watch Hwang for rest of season to see if he is worth keeping around as RH bat off bench.
So there’s 3 for a start.
Agree, Willie, but as Flav said…this season is shot…and I would go see him play for the pure entertainment value. And who knows, while it is highly unlikely, the fat fuck may catch lightning in a bottle…
Roll the Dice…
just seems so odd, Chi. Sentiment against him when the contract deal went down ran about 10-1 here, if not more. Level of vitriol about him after the comments he made was pretty high, and not just here either. Most everyone seems to laugh at the guy for how sorry he’s been last 3 yrs. Now is different?
Down with what you said Willie. Panda was heading downhill in his last season here. I was totally against re-signing the fat turd at his exorbitant initial asking price. Equally important, he showed his true colors when he left for Boston (as AK indicated above).
Thanks for the stats on Melky Chi. Even more adamant about taking him, especially since we have a dozen stiffs at 3rd base already. We need to work on replacing the 3 zombies in the outfield we have.
I’m down with willeD and blade. I said years ago I’d talk Melky back in a heartbeat. His leaving lacked class, but he didn’t bust the chops of teammates. Panda actually publicly verbalized insults to teammates, but that’s apparently OK. I’m resigned now to the Giants PR machine coloring this organization’s moves. The only baseball reason to bring him to AAA is that the rest of the minors must be so bad, it makes sense to try a guy who has been a total bust for 3 seasons. If he does go to Sac, and they start selling Panda hats, we’ll know the real reason he’s back…
A lot of panda hats to unload.
Don’t get me wrong. I do not like the way Pablo left, and threw damned near everyone on the team under the bus. But, I also believe in forgiveness.
WTF…this is low cost, and it isn’t like Mr. Fat Fuck would be blocking anyone.
And as I mentioned earlier…while the possibility is slim (unlike Pablo), there is chance he catches lighting in a bottle…
Blade – YW re: the MelkMan’s stats. And I agree that the priority needs to be the OF and fine-tuning the BP. But this is such a low-cost proposition, and as I said, he isn’t blocking anyone, so giddy-up and give it a try. If Pablo gets signed, and brought-up, and fails miserably, at the minimum it will provide cheap entertainment and grand fodder for Flappers around the world…
