Dragging

You want to see a tired team? Watch this game tonight. Thankfully Miami isn’t very good and Conley is an extremely average starting pitcher. So maybe we have a chance. Stanton has 9 home runs in his last 10 games. Nine home runs this month. The Giants? In 451 plate appearances in August, they has 12 home runs. That’s actually pretty good for them. In July they had 14 for the entire month.

Blach’s gonna have his hands full today, on the mound and with the bat. “Do it all yourself” day if he wants to win.

Taking a look at the odds this morning looking for another +380 gift, there are none to be found today. The biggest fav are the Cubs at -200 and the Yankees at -180. The Marlins are -140. After NY lost that crusher to Boston last night and the Giants played 37 games yesterday, I have decided to dump my ENTIRE pretend $380 on a 2 team parlay of the Mets and the Marlins. The Mets are at +162. So $380 bet on that 2 team parlay (+162 and -140 at odds of 13 to 5) will pay out a cool $1326. Let’s go baby!!!!!!! Let it ride!!!!!!

Players will need toothpicks to keep their eyes open!
Nats have been criticized by a lot of other teams on how they handle rain delays when theirs no rain at the start.Get your butts out there till it dumps!
And then wait 2 plus hours to clear out the stadium for a doubleheader for extra greed is BS as well….

Marlins have won 3 in a row and retaken 2nd place in that division. Blach has to keep them in the yard. He’s a serviceable back end of rotation guy to me, but lack of Ks is a little weird. Giants OF defense, or lack of same, might come into play.
More often than not he’s been good but there were a few outings he just got hammered that raised the ERA which is still over 4.00.

Issue with J Parker is always gonna be contact. What bugged me yesterday was watching him take hittable pitches for strikes. Scherzer left a bunch of breaking balls up to Parker and others, and the giants just watched them go by…and then swung at stuff in the dirt.

well, they did get a lot of pitches out of him, I think that was their approach–try to send him to showers a little early.

the big guy Albers wound up getting the win; he’s actually having a pretty good season. Steve Kline was pretty big in his last days for Giants. Who else comes close to looking like Albers?

Kerfield that used to pitch for Stros maybe?

That tub of lard Broxton…I yelled out at a Nats-Fodger game for Broxton to leave the buffet alone…

Hard to believe but M Scioscia and Angels have the second WC right now. After sweeping M’s they are 3 over .500 and just ahead of Twins at 2 over, KC at 1 over and Tampa and Seattle at 1 under Balt at 2 under.

AZ and Rocks, who both lost again yesterday are still top 2 WC in NL with 65 wins each but Cards and Brewers each have 61, Pirates 58.

Am I the only one who finds Matt Albers name so closely related to Fat Albert to be pretty funny? I can’t be the only one….

    • alleykat69 said, on August 14, 2017 at 9:40 am

I thought it was funny. Their both fat and their both ugly..

Busy-assed weekend…did not get to see any of the games, and tried to follow along online. Did see Tim Flannery live Saturday night (blessed to have both Gail and my daughter as dates). GREAT show. Pizza and cocktails at Pizza Rock before the show (damned good pizza…check it out if you are ever in Sac).

But damn, was I wrong on the series prognosis. I suspected a sweep, or said Giants may win one (they did). But I had the runs scored for the series as Nats 22 – Giants 8. Reality was Nats 11 – Giants 7. And to lose the rubber-match game in extras…at least our boys were respectable against one of the top teams in the game this year.

Bring on the Fish…three in a row, or not. Time to filet their asses.

    Bobby Jenks?

Fun Fact: When I was a young teacher, Aaron Harang’s mom was my Teacher’s Aide at one point. (Back in the old days when elementary teachers had aides for a good chunk of the day)
Super nice woman. Actually saw her and talked to her for a bit at a Padre game a few years back, when Aaron was on the Pads. Not a small person herself.

O/U on the distance of Stanton’s home run(s) tonight: 421.5′

    • alleykat69 said, on August 14, 2017 at 2:54 pm

90 ft every time up is all Stanton should get!
      Walk his ass every time!

at fanduel the pitcher gets an extra 4 points for a QS so I like them now too 🙂

A colleague was back in Boston a couple weeks ago, and Sandoval derision apparently filled up the sports talk radio.

    • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2017 at 4:23 pm

I don’t know what good he thought this would do him.
I don’t blame Bosox fans for crucifying him…

    murdered that one

Pay the under. We are the dumbest team in baseball…

  15. zumiee said, on August 14, 2017 at 4:30 pm

There’s basically two kinds of teams right now in MLB. Those that are pulling up amazing young players from the minors and those that aren’t. I can’t remember a time in MLB when so much of a team’s success depended on its young talent. The Red Sox have a 20 year old, Devers, that’s lighting up their city.

    • djloo27 said, on August 14, 2017 at 4:38 pm

      Specs is such a gamer…

  16. zumiee said, on August 14, 2017 at 4:46 pm

The Giants are facing a pitcher they’re probably unprepared for, and we can probably predict how this is going to go. At what point can Bam-Bam get some blame for a team always looking unprepared against someone they’re not familiar with?

    • Flavor said, on August 14, 2017 at 5:05 pm

they’re just bad hitters. Studying the upcoming pitcher more isn’t gonna do much.

      • zumiee said, on August 14, 2017 at 5:14 pm

Hey, we got 3 runs so far. Minor miracle.

I’m grateful the Flap turned me on to a turn on like Gallo.

Chief Honky in the game now.

  20. James said, on August 14, 2017 at 6:20 pm

Was there a chance any white person would ever be offended by being called a honky?

    • Flavor said, on August 14, 2017 at 6:23 pm

there are white idiots in preppy clothes buying tiki torches at home depot and squawking about being oppressed….so probably.

  21. Flavor said, on August 14, 2017 at 6:26 pm

Affeldt does have some decent things to say about pitching. He can’t enunciate words for shit and he’s too much of a homer but I’m warming up to him a little as long as he just sticks to pitching comments.

  22. Flavor said, on August 14, 2017 at 6:40 pm

2-2 in NY. Gonna need the Mets to sneak that one out for me to close out my pretend $1326 score.

  23. Flavor said, on August 14, 2017 at 6:56 pm

    predictably flat game.

  24. Flavor said, on August 14, 2017 at 8:30 pm
