2-2

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 29, 2017

Ken Giles gives me massive Santiago Castillo indigestion. That guy….I don’t like that guy.

Now we’re back into the pit of misery, dilly dilly, facing Kershaw. At least it’s in Houston. What a huge game, this is over if they lose today.

Also, what a great series. This has really lived up to the hype that so many series fail to meet.

There’s a lot of teams that are going to struggle to catch up in the juiced ball era.

    • blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:42 pm

Off top of my head – Pirates, Padres, Giants in NL.

  2. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:44 pm

This WS now tied with most HRs ever in a WS = 21. Tied with? 2002 Giants v Angels in 7 games…

    • snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:47 pm

That one, the players were juiced. This one, it’s the ball …

  3. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:49 pm

The walks just drive me nuts!

  4. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:52 pm

    Devenski is a classic junkballer.

    • zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:54 pm

      Emphasis on “junk.”

  5. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:53 pm

If U ask me if I prefer a 2-1 nail biter vs. a 12-11 bombfest, so far, I’m not sure I don’t prefer the latter…

  6. unca_chuck said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:54 pm

Puig hit that with one hand and off the end of the bat. This is ridiculous.

    • willedav said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:57 pm

fooled, and of course coming in 2-20.

  7. blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:54 pm

    Fucking ridiculous.

    • blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:55 pm

      Yep, this is Arena Baseball.

      • Macdog said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:57 pm

        Ha, good one.

  8. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:54 pm

    A team with no closer.

  9. xoot said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:55 pm

Why would anyone want to pitch next year if this is the ball they use? But go Stros!

    • zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:57 pm

Get high 90s gas in the bullpen and hope for strike outs.

  10. unca_chuck said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:56 pm

They may need to move the fences back at AT&T.

    • snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:58 pm

      Only when the oppo hits…

  11. unca_chuck said, on October 29, 2017 at 9:59 pm

    Jeeeebus. Hanger right there.

  12. unca_chuck said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:01 pm

    How the fuck . . .

  13. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:02 pm

The walk was the biggest killer.

  14. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:05 pm

A World Series team with no closer. That’s pretty amazing.

  15. djloo27 said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:05 pm

Maybe the Astros can manufacture the winning run…

  16. Macdog said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:14 pm

    Reddick is useless.

  17. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:16 pm

Gurriel defected from Cuba in Feb 2016.
Astros signed him in July 2016 — 5 years for $47.5 million. That’s essentially bargain territory these days.
Houston pushed him through the minors ASAP, he was up in the Majors on August 21, 2016 and never looked back; he’s been hitting the crap outta the ball since then.
Why don’t the Giants grab a guy like that?…

    • blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:18 pm

      Technically, he’s not a honky.

    • zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:21 pm

      The Giants’ scouting system:

  18. blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:17 pm

Again, I think it’s the juiced ball, but I would love to see Kershaw tagged with this loss and his diminished legacy.

  19. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:18 pm

Even the outs are hard-hit by Turner.

  20. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:20 pm

Sheezus, have the Stros defense gotten even one inning 1-2-3 this game?…

  21. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:29 pm

    Gattis swung at ball 4.

  22. djloo27 said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:29 pm

Why would a low ball hitter like Gattis swing 3-1 on that?

  23. djloo27 said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:35 pm

The trainer came out just to break Jansen’s rhythm, I bet…

    • djloo27 said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:39 pm

      It worked!

  24. Macdog said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:39 pm

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  25. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:39 pm

Great move to put in the Pinch Runner for McCann…
    Stros Win !…

What a game and I’m drained!!

  30. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:41 pm

Would Bochy have pinch run for Buster at 2nd right there?
    I doubt it…

  31. wilcojoe said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:41 pm

    Astros!!!!!!!!!!!

  32. willedav said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:42 pm

$80 mil but who’s counting. Astros hit everyone Dodgers have thrown out there tonite.

  33. blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:42 pm

LOL. Jansen another face plant. Kershaw – wrongly or not – will be crucified tomorrow by fans and media. Love it!

    • snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:44 pm

      Yep, Kershaw crapped out again.
      But, so did everybody else…

  34. blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:44 pm

Fireworks going off in the San Francisco district section of Saigon.

  35. gianthead said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:47 pm

Let’s pray this is a soul-crushing loss that destroys Kershaw and Jensen for years to come…

    • gianthead said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:50 pm

Jansen does not even look like the same pitcher…I am betting the ball is a factor not letting him throw that cutter. How would Mariano Riveria pitch with this ball???

  36. djloo27 said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:51 pm

    “Yes, I’ll have seconds”

  37. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:52 pm

    This sumbiitch ain’t over.
SF was up 3-2 when they went back to Anaheim…

    • Macdog said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:54 pm

Indians 3-2 last year going back to Cleveland.

  38. chipower9 said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:56 pm

Holy shit! What a game. Definitely one for the ages. Now that is some entertainment, especially with the bums losing!

    Wow!

  39. djloo27 said, on October 29, 2017 at 10:57 pm

It’s entertaining and it’s riveting, but it’s not baseball anymore…

    • blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:58 pm

Agree Loo. Only consolation is that the Dodgers may lose this series. Regardless, I don’t see how the Giants can ever compete.

  40. unca_chuck said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:01 pm

Well, with Verlander pitching in LA at night, some semblance of normalcy should return.

  41. mrsprtdude said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:06 pm

Not classic in a baseball sense but the way both teams kept coming back after gut wrenching scoring from the other side was impressive. A fun game to watch. Kershaw wetting the bed again was great. Guessing no tweets about having more quality starts than madbum right:)

  42. xoot said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:10 pm

Astonishing game and great result. But who wants to see this every day, 162 times?

  43. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:10 pm

I almost start to feel a little sorry for him, and then I remember he’s a Dodger.

    • PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:13 pm

He seems like a good guy. I’d take him on our team…. feeling empathy, if not sympathy, is a good thing… 🙂

  44. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:19 pm

    “FOX Sports: MLB
    @MLBONFOX
Clayton Kershaw is the first pitcher to ever allow 8 HRs in a single postseason.”

    • blade3colorado said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:59 pm

      Whoa!

  45. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:22 pm

Both of these Pens are pitching on fumes. Stros because they suck anyway, Doghairs because Roberts has totally mismanaged them.
Add to the mix the Titleist Tour DT they have to throw, and it’s time for the HR derby every game…

  46. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:34 pm

I’m all for more HRs, especially on the Giants. But that was ridiculous.

  47. zumiee said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:40 pm

“Brandon Morrow’s pitching line was impressively bad. In 6 pitches, he gave up 4 hits including a double and 2 HRs and also a wild pitch.”

  48. snarkk said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:46 pm

If MLB is going to force teams to throw a super ball all season, they’re going to have to add 2 or 3 bodies to roster and make it a 28-man. The Pens are worn out by mid-September with just 25…

  49. unca_chuck said, on October 29, 2017 at 11:56 pm

Heh heh, said that after game one . . . ! It really is nutty along with these bandbox stadii, you throw in a ball that travels 20′ further and the 90 HR season is coming.

  50. blade3colorado said, on October 30, 2017 at 12:13 am

    LA Times Kershaw epitaph. LOL

That’s not fair: Casilla was great for us.

You should have said Benitez, now that’sa big meatball type of indigestion!
