Huge Warrior game tonight, at least if you’re interested in seeing if the rest of their regular season will be anything other than dominating blow outs. Boston’s defense could cause the Dubs some troubles and even with a broken face Kyrie always saves his best for Golden State. If the Warriors win another blow out tonight this is going to be a very boring rest of 2017/2018 till the playoffs start….

RPAD Time. Stix is on fire in this one:

Stix used the word “ensorcelling,” I had to look up the meaning. It means bewitched or enchanted. He used it in the context of how baseball hooks people in. Great choice of a word.

yahoo sports had story about mlb forming committee of scientists/physicists to look into the baseball.
This story is not going away and the baseball itself is going to be an issue. Manfred and his “it meets ml specs” isn’t believable.
How much is Darvish worth on FA market without his slider?
Just hope whatever ball they come up with next year doesn’t bother Cueto.

what part of mlb? MLB is the one who’s fucking with the balls. Smokescreen?

    • snarkk said, on November 16, 2017 at 11:01 am

They can submit the final report now and save time: the ball specs are unchanged…

  3. xoot said, on November 16, 2017 at 8:58 am

Yeah MLB knows damn good and well what’s happened to the ball. The same people in Costa Rica are hand stitching them now. The yarn must be different and the core probably is too

  4. snarkk said, on November 16, 2017 at 11:05 am

Since Mlb is adroit at messing with the ball’s specs, why not make a “deader ” ball just for use at Coors, and labeled as such? Then there is no humidor nonsense…

Bam Bam wants the Yankee job bad.
Boomer Esiason (who’s pretty good with this stuff) thinks he’s gonna get it.
    Fine with me.
    Promote Whitey!

All they really have to do is tighten the stitches. I thought Johnny C said something to that effect.

    • snarkk said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:18 pm

Research shows the 2016 ball and later has definitely lower profile stitching than 2015 ball. More finger blisters as u have to grip stitches tighter to get the action you want…

Here in the brew pub, NBA officials are almost as bad as NFL. Klay got mugged on a layup and missed, no call. Body and hacked in the shooting arm. How is that not a foul?…

    • unca_chuck said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:20 pm

Iggy giot blatantly fouled on his dunk and they didn’t call it.

  8. unca_chuck said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:25 pm

Steph is 2-8 and KD is 3-10. Dubs up 11.

  9. unca_chuck said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:26 pm

Tha starters can’t buy a shot.

  10. unca_chuck said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:29 pm

Fuck. Thompson’s shoulder is grabbed from behind and no call.

  11. unca_chuck said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:31 pm

Marcus Smart just knocked a layup up through the basket to negate an Irving basket. Never seen that.

  12. snarkk said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:38 pm

Draymond got clobbered on a layup and ball called off him, turnover to Celts. WTF?…

  13. snarkk said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:43 pm

This officiating can’t be this bad without some kind of intent. Dubs getting hammered taking shots and layups, no calls. I’ve never understood why Dubs, best team in league, and Curry, get few calls. Jordan got calls if somebody breathed on him…

    • unca_chuck said, on November 16, 2017 at 7:02 pm

As does Harden, Westbrook, Irving, Bron Bron, etc.

  14. unca_chuck said, on November 16, 2017 at 6:58 pm

This is unreal. Curry got 4 fouls in 65 seconds. Maybe one was legit. Green was hit on the way to the basket, and no call.

  15. snarkk said, on November 16, 2017 at 7:01 pm

In a league where almost all players are black, why are most of the NBA refs white?…

  16. unca_chuck said, on November 16, 2017 at 7:02 pm

    I think there’s a fair amount but I haven’t really noticed.

  17. Flavor said, on November 16, 2017 at 7:59 pm

refs were bad but GS shot the ball like ass.

    • snarkk said, on November 16, 2017 at 8:16 pm

      Trud Dat.
But, Celts hung some good D on them, too.
Celts shot 2x as many free throws as Dubs. That’s crap…

  18. zumiee said, on November 16, 2017 at 8:29 pm

It’s a long long NBA season. The Ws lost a tough one to the Cavs on Christmas last year, then crushed the Cavs in the Finals.

  19. zumiee said, on November 16, 2017 at 8:43 pm

There’s absolutely no defense in the Rockets/Suns game.

  20. willedav said, on November 16, 2017 at 8:47 pm

Last time they lost, the game they threw away at home to Detroit, they followed up with nice streak of good ball.
Curry OK or straining a bit?

Anyone going to Big Game? Cards 13 pt fav. Cal D has to be able to get off the field.

  21. Macdog said, on November 16, 2017 at 8:49 pm

Weird but true: Warriors scored 88 in their loss. Rockets have 90 at halftime vs. the Suns.

  22. zumiee said, on November 16, 2017 at 8:51 pm

    Rockets 90, Suns 65…..at halftime!
You usually have to see an NBA All-Star game to see defense this bad.

    • djloo27 said, on November 16, 2017 at 10:05 pm

      Is Harden shooting for 100?

      • zumiee said, on November 16, 2017 at 10:16 pm

        He settled for 48. šŸ™‚

  23. mrsprtdude said, on November 16, 2017 at 10:15 pm

Remember the opening of the thread. Warriors win easy and the rest of the year means nothing. Close Celtic win means intrigue and excitement. NBA knows what Craig knows, and refs acted accordingly.
NBA will never be the same after watching 2016 Finals. 1st Green suspension and then Curry, who hasn’t fouled out in his who career, fouls out on a series of shit calls that most superstars never get called on..LAME
Even as bad as MLB umps can be, they suck for both sides. Imagine the uproar if the ump calls 20 K’s looking on one team and 1 or 2 on the road team. Crazy to even think about, but we see that in the NBA all the time

I like Marvin Hamlisch, but he co-wrote one of the worst songs in human history.
If I was on this bus, I’d be trying to jump out a window…..

        A cult of crazed honkies.

It’s a busload of young Republicans headed for their Convention, celebrating a tax bill where the Koch Bros. get a couple billion in tax breaks, and everybody else on this blog gets hammered with more taxes to help pay for it…

Saw this yesterday in story about Mets thinking about not letting some of SPs face LU third time.

From mgr., ex Tribe pitching coach: “We will not allow our guys to struggle the third time through the LU if we can avoid it.”

Then the writer, Mike Axisa on cbs, said that if there is agreement on adding a roster spot to all teams, that ALL would make it another pitcher. “No doubt about it.” Wow, really?
