Flappers, I am taking a hiatus for a few weeks. I’ll be out of the country for part of that and it just won’t be convenient to try to blog or change the threads. So man the ship, keep her sea worthy, weather any storms and watch out for pirates. Hopefully when I get back (January 9th) we will have assembled a team that can sail off to glory once again.

A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball 
Wade Davis signed with the Rockies. Nice signing for them. The NL West is very tough.
Passan tweet: Among Wade Davis, Jake McGee and Bryan Shaw, the Rockies now have guaranteed $106M to relief pitchers this winter. Add in Mike Dunn and Adam Ottavino, and they may have the most expensive bullpen in baseball history — upward of $50M this season.
Cincy f*cked us when we traded Adam Duvall for POS pitcher, Mike Leake in 2015 for our stretch run and he face planted. Meanwhile, over the past two seasons, Duvall powered his way into the starting lineup. During this time he has smashed 64 home runs while driving in a total of 202.
Now Booby, et.al., are about to bend over once again, when Cincy plucks our #1 rated prospect, Heliot Ramos for the hitless wonder, Billy Hamilton . . . At least that’s what the rumor mill is spewing out. Oh joy!
Booby’s intellect is rivaled only by garden tools.

Machado would be nice get for SF but doubt it happens. He could play SS and they could work on unloading Crawford who could rake in Camden Yards.
I like Longo signing myself. I think he has few good years left and will be grateful not to have to be face of franchise and play in a ml yard that’s mostly full.

Kinda funny, but that first Reds series vs. Giants Hamilton went ape shit and the Reds clobbered them. He was on base a lot and running wild and scoring runs. Unfortunately, as Brisbee pointed out, his numbers vs. everyone else sucked big time, less than .600 OPS. He’s just not much of a hitter.
And remember guys hitting behind him were Cozart and his .900 OPS, Joey Votto, who is just one of best hitters on planet with over 1.000 OPS, and Duvall, who loves that bandbox yard. Scooter Gennett hit 27 HRs for them and they still lost 94 games.
Warriors have 100 on Memphis (which has 87 of their own) with 4:36 left…in 3rd Q.
Here’s to a Happy Giants New Year in 2018 (because it can’t possibly be worse than 2017?).

Giants pitchers and catchers report in about 44 days. The Giants still need to make some roster transactions, obviously. Here’s hoping they’ve got some nice surprises coming for us.
