As Dirt mentioned yesterday SF-Oak game got funky when Dyson went up and in on Khris Davis after giving up a bomb. Dyson got lit up and apparently has been awful. Last year with SF a fluke or not? He was dreadful before SF picked him up too.
Blach and Stratton appear to have leg up for last 2 rotation spots so who does that leave to fill out pen?
Yahoo has pix of the Greek soccer club owner who stormed field packing heat after goal by his hometown team was disallowed by ref. Wild.
july 31 2012 Phils traded Pence to SF for Joseph, Seth rosin (?) and Nate the less than Great.
Hoping if Giants are in contention same time this year Sabes pulls off another steal.
the O’Doul book is pretty good. he had long career esp local SF PCL as player and mgr. and was interesting guy.
Probably too short a ml career to get in Hall, unfortunately.
The “ambassador” in title is something I was completely unaware of, his involvement in bringing American baseball players to Japan and helping to grow game over there.
Also, since he’d grown up near the Stick, knew ahead of time it wasn’t great place to build a stadium.
Yah he was part of the barnstorming teams of the ’30’s with the Babe and all those guys. But he did more tours in Japan in the 50s and early 60s i think. Shit, he managed the DiMaggio brothers for the Seals. That alone should get him in.
All I’ve seen on Sanchez is this note in Duggar story yesterday on Giants’ web site: Catcher Hector Sanchez has been sidelined since Feb. 28 because of a hamstring injury and is expected to miss up to two more weeks, which is right around the time the Giants are slated to break camp.
Great photos, Chuck.
I recommend the book. I’m liking it a lot. It’s full of interesting things. He grew up in the Hunter’s Point area when it was a big beef slaughtering area. The stench would sometimes waft into the city.
#1 one there cruising to the hoop would be Oscar. Bucks had cool team then and I always liked the ones Nelson had afterward with Lanier and then Moncrief Marques J yada yada.

From Lefty O’Doul’s, a pic of Lefty with the Babe
And now Seth Rosin is playing for the Rochester Redwings lol
Might as well try hockey with the Detroit Redwings..
I heard second hand that Hector got dinged in the head by a foul a few days ago while catching. Anyone know?

Kinda like Hunter Pence now..
Hmmm Hunter’s Point&Hunter Pence a sketchy combination..
Bonnies up 5 on UCLA at half.
Lanier must be doing the job on Alcindor…
excellent.
There’s never been a cooler shot than his skyhook.

Unstoppable…
Nate Thurmond would have begged to differ.

You can make a very strong argument that he was the GOAT…
Bonnies win!
Aron Holliday melted down completely at the end. Score 1 for the A-10.
Sabbathia looks about 375…
A Phil Nevin sighting. He’s the new 3b coach for the Yankees.

That’s pretty great.
