Back To Baseball

Ok, THIS ONE they should be able to get in. Not with this moment as any indication, it’s pouring like a motherfucker right now. My daughter’s flight back to Costa Rica already got canceled. Props to @virginamerica for quickly getting her on another flight tomorrow….

Anyway, I’m cautiously optimistic about the game today. Stratton is proving to have a reliable major league arm and I think the Giants are going to do better against Hill this time around. Shedding the mental weight of the season’s opening series, they should be able to track and mash that curve ball a little better tonight…..

Anyone jazzed about The Masters? It’s shaping up to be an epic weekend. Several of golfs biggest names are poised near the top to battle and it’s going to be fun to watch them target that pussy snake-in-the-grass Patrick Reed (somehow currently winning)….

You telling me we have no better options in Sac, anywhere, than Gomez? Fuck!

    • Flavor said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:10 pm

i mean, he was the last pitcher Boch used in the 14th inning. Not too many studs waiting in the BP to come into the 14th inning

      • chipower9 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:14 pm

I get that. But seems we could find a better warm body….

  2. Flavor said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:09 pm

I blame this pending loss entirely on Longo. Fucking pro hitter striking out in that situation, shit all he had to do was get it in the air, is unforgivable. This game was so fucking right there for the taking

  3. mrsprtdude said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:14 pm

For sure. And a big win it would have been

  4. unca_chuck said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:14 pm

    Come on!!~!~

  5. blade3colorado said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:14 pm

Per what Flav said, Gomez was it. There was no other options unless Bochy put in a starter . . . or worse, a bench player. Gomez was already the worst pitcher on the staff, not named Osich. Dunno if there are any replacements in Sac or elsewhere. GMen needed to make hay when they had men on base and didn’t. Sad, after the bullpen battled so hard.

  6. unca_chuck said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:14 pm

    Yeah, baby!

  7. willedav said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:15 pm

there you go line drive base hit and you beat Puig’s arm to boot.

  8. snarkk said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:15 pm

I figured Longoria would have trouble for a while in a new league. But, not this bad.
Specs is an awesome clutch hittin’ dude for his pay grade…

  22. blade3colorado said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:22 pm

  27. YogiBarrister (@Yogi47951368) said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:24 pm

God! That was the most nerve-wracking, deeply satisfying at bat since the Brian Johnson home run.

    • chipower9 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:26 pm

Damned close. I was at that game. Epic AB by Cutch!

  28. chipower9 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:25 pm

Weeeeeeee Doggies! THAT is how you do it…especially against the bums, when you just coughed-up the lead in top of the inning!

  29. willedav said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:31 pm

    re: “who are these guys?”
Giants have now hit 10 HRs in 7 games, including 8 at home already in 3.
    And given up only 2.

  30. Flavor said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:32 pm

Gomez was bad but he’s not worthless. Dude throws 94 with sink. And hey, he’s got a nose for the W doesn’t he? lqtm….

    • PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:35 pm

It still cracks me up a little that the G’s now actually do have a Gomez in the pen….

    • chipower9 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:35 pm

      LMAO…

  31. Flavor said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:38 pm

    pitch chart is pretty crazy

    • alleykat69 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:40 pm

      Tremendous night Cutch!

      what a beautiful graphic

  32. alleykat69 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:38 pm

Yeah and he’s not from “The Addams Family”

  33. chipower9 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:39 pm

I am delayed on the post game, and just saw Gomez do the dive from the dugout rail. LMAO…

  34. willedav said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:39 pm

12 pitch AB…I was thinking even the batter has to be little wore out by then, trying to fight off fastballs at 94.
Uh, no. Knew it too that was great to see Cutch reaction as he dropped the bat.
Have to find the video and rewind button.

  35. Flavor said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:41 pm

  36. chipower9 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:42 pm

And McC came back from a 1-2 count. What a great AB. Damn!

  37. xoot said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:42 pm

Wild game to attend. I was surprised to see so many dodger fans hang in through extras

    • chipower9 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:43 pm

      You were there xoot?

      • xoot said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:49 pm

You owe your son BIG TIME! Epic game…

When Wilmer Font doesn’t have any late movement on his pitches we say he’s working sans serif
    @OGTedBerg

  39. zumiee said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:44 pm

Cutch’s average went from .083 to .258 in one game.

    • chipower9 said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:54 pm

      That’s crazy…

  40. Flavor said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:45 pm

who brought out the giant Alhambra water container, lol?

    • Macdog said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:19 pm

Pav said it was Derek Holland.

  41. gianthead said, on April 7, 2018 at 8:46 pm

Just saw the walk off wow. Patrick Reed the snake was unbelievable…when he chipped in that eagle….will go down in history one of the greatest Masters shots if he holds on…

  42. zumiee said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:16 pm

    Fun fact:
“@TheCUTCH22 is the first player with a #walkoff homer with his team trailing in the 14th inning or later since … Andrew McCutchen (7/11/15 vs STL).”

  43. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:16 pm

I confess to knowing absolutely nothing about Patrick Reed, so I’m just curious what he did in the past to earn the snake moniker…?

    • Macdog said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:20 pm

See Kat’s 10:35 a.m. from (way) earlier in the thread.

  44. PaulinAsia Banh Bao said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:31 pm

And then there’s the Padres, giving the Stros a walk-off win in the 10th because they couldn’t catch a pop fly practically right in front of the plate…. ouch…

    • Macdog said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:49 pm

I gotta check that out, but the Pads have held the Astros to two runs in two games at MMP, pretty impressive.

  45. unca_chuck said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:34 pm

Reed ain’t gonna win it. Fowler was on fire what little I saw.

  46. Stan Shell said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:37 pm

I have been watching baseball since Dizzy Dean and Buddy Blatner were announcing the Game of the Week (mostly American League/Yankees) and I never saw a guy go for six hits in one game.

    OSF

  47. unca_chuck said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:51 pm

Say what you will about Figjam Mickelson, but hitting driver off the fairway from 275 to 6 feet for eagle is sick. Watch the fricking hook as the ball takes off.

    video/1

  48. unca_chuck said, on April 7, 2018 at 9:57 pm

    Well, slice. He’s a lefty.

  49. willedav said, on April 7, 2018 at 10:52 pm

Cards knocked off AZ and Greinke too. they can’t play Dodgers all the time.
