A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Not Rock Bottom

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 12, 2018

Another *fun* day of baseball where we get Smarge throwing his 96 mph heater at the Pirates and them sending it right back up his ass at 115 mph. He pitched a game in Pitt a couple of years ago, it’s stuck in my mind for some reason. Gave up a lot of bombs. That was the game where I was like “man, this guy can really serve up the homers.” And he’s been serving ’em up like flapjacks at IHOP ever since.

I don’t know what to say about this road trip except that it can probably get worse. I mean, why couldn’t it?

Meant to thank Loo for that card pic of Gene Freese. didn’t he have a brother who played too? George?

We’ve seen a lot of bad baseball from the Giants since July 2016.

If they win tomorrow, they’ll finish the road trip at 4-6! Watson looks a little like Peavey.

The K zone box has disappeared in Pittsburgh. Some don’t like it, but I’m annoyed by the inconsistent use. I assume it’s not at the home team’s discretion.

If Belt K’s, remember it will be his first tonight.

This is getting old (and reminiscent of last season).

Belt’s low K slump continues and I ate and drank well tonight — what more can I hope for?

Have to see it again but if Longo had been able to stop when he fielded the grounder, wouldn’t he have been right btw the bag and Bell?
then Bell robs Belt in 9th. One team makes the plays, other doesn’t.

looked to me like Longo gave up on Bell too early and decided to go to first, then . . . . no play. But he was there.

Missed the whole thing. Is Hansen hurt? Meanwhile, Actionless keeps on trucking?

Hanson pulled something in a leg scoring from first on a double.

    Reds beat the Dodgers again.

In the 9th inning, on a 3-0 pitch, Bellinger tried to bunt for a hit, and bunted the ball straight to the pitcher for an out. I couldn’t believe it. Roberts couldn’t believe it. No one could believe it.

Dave Roberts on why Bellinger bunted 3 and 0: “I don’t know.”

Left hamstring for Alen Hansen. Bochy characterized it as day to day. Hanson said he won’t know till he wakes up tomorrow. Bochy did not anticipate a roster move but Miguel Gomez is nearby at AA.

Hanson’s been up for about two weeks and he’s already third on the team in HRs. And now a hammy. They can’t get out of Pa. soon enough.

Bellinger saw the take sign 3-0 in the ninth, but thought he could bunt a fastball against the shift. Hasn’t talked yet to Dave Roberts about it.
“If I could do it again, I wouldn’t.”
