Home Before The Storm

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on May 14, 2018

We have a 7 games at home and it would be a good idea to win as many of them as possible. After that we go on the road for 8 against Houston, The Cubs and Sherpaville. I’m not one to sweat the schedule but that is a killer 8. If we burn up the bullpen early in that stretch I don’t know if I’ll be able to bring myself to watch the Colorado massacre.

Our plucky, average starting pitchers should appreciate being back at home. If they can’t do it here, they can’t do it anywhere….

Harvey goes against Suarez on Wednesday….Extra excited for that one.

Dubs tonight….

Even though Longo has 7 errors (unbelievable amount for him at this point in the season), he’s actually looked fairly good on defense.

So much for saving the bullpen.

Read somewhere recently that Roger Craig was a batboy for the Durham Bulls when he was young.

What a beautiful DP that was!
Posey’s Just has a luz rocket 🚀 for an arm and so accurate as well,,Best in the game imo, even if some here disagree of his value which I will never understand..

  4. alleykat69 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:08 pm

Hmmm 2 post at 8:50 exactly from the Mac&Loo show, could go as a tie but Mac shows up 1st. so sorry Loo😩

If I woulda used only one ‘m’ in humm, I woulda won…

  5. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:11 pm

    Ya gotta love a strike-out/throw-out DP…

    • willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:16 pm

nice tag there from Specs. He plays a pretty nice 2b and turns the DP too.

  6. xoot said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:12 pm

stee rike from Buster to the 2B bag!

  7. Macdog said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:13 pm

That throw by Buster might have been faster than anything Stratton threw all night.

    • chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:14 pm

lqtm…but you might be right, Mac…

  8. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:13 pm

Posey may not have the pop in his bat anymore, but he is a badass behind the dish.

    • alleykat69 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:21 pm

      Got that right Chi!!
I believe the Reds catcher Barnhardt? won the GG last year at catcher, think he was shocked to beat out Posey and mentioned that when the award was announced.. Still he’s a good catcher too,

  9. willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:20 pm

Cutch could certainly leave but if he keeps hitting and gets that OPS up .850 like last year it’s going to help Giants quite a bit.

  10. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:22 pm

Ground attack..coming to you compliments of the Cincinnati Reds….

  11. willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:23 pm

wow that was crushed one hop off 399 sign

  12. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:24 pm

As has been discussed. I could give a fuck if Posey hits a ton of HRs. With his catching, and shots like that (and .300/.800)…I’m good with that…

  13. Macdog said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:24 pm

    Doubles the fun!

  14. zumiee said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:24 pm

Keep matriculating around the bases, boys!

  15. alleykat69 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:25 pm

Posey&Belt ripping big time doubles to help break this bad boy open some..

  16. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:28 pm

That’s some Keystone Cops shit there…LMAO…

I remember the game where bare key had three errors in an inning…

  17. alleykat69 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:29 pm

Perzza going for the hat trick at SS this inning..

    • djloo27 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:43 pm

I was at Shea in ’66 when Jose Pagan (as a Pirate) made 4 errors. I think 3 were in one inning,
      My gramps took me…

  18. willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:30 pm

Slater can bat again here fun inning.

    • willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:33 pm

nope. insurance runs tho, always a good thing.
Strat, tho…anytime he gets past 5 he runs out of steam, gives up a bomb or starts walking guys because he’s afraid of it. He can pick up a W tonite but he still has a lot to learn.

  19. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:30 pm

Specs needs to keep the train rolling….

  20. djloo27 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:32 pm

I didn’t think Kelby had ever homered in the majors.
He actually has 3, including one off Kershaw…

    • willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:34 pm

He got one late last year, right? iirc that was his only one.

      • djloo27 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:38 pm

Yes, the one off Kershaw was last September.
He had 2 in 2015, including an inside the park-er.
        I don’t remember any of them…

  21. djloo27 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:34 pm

I was thinking today how spoiled we were by our bullpen for about 5-6 years.
    You know the names…

    • chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:54 pm

Yep. Those teams had a lead going into the 6th, it was damned near a guaranteed win. We were spoiled after so many years of frustration.

  22. xoot said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:59 pm

Sergio Romo, drafted 852nd in the 28th round
    Belt!!!

  23. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 9:59 pm

    Belted! Just to make sure…

  24. willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:00 pm

On the hop? Nope no water just a bomb from Belt, having a good night.
    Man Giants teeing off…go figure.

  25. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:00 pm

Blade – Cincy may have the worst pitching stats after tonight. 😂😂😂

    • blade3colorado said, on May 15, 2018 at 6:25 am

Sorry Chi, I did a Flav and fell asleep . . . Next morning here. 🙂

  26. alleykat69 said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:00 pm

No doubt about that one for Belt!
The critics will say though, yeah but the pussy couldn’t reach the cove..

  27. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:02 pm

    Nice play by Hamilton…

Pretty wild how he came off the wall to get the ball into the IF…

    • xoot said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:06 pm

anyone else would’ve landed on the DL

      • chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:10 pm

Certainly if they were a Giant…Mac would have broken his leg…

  28. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:11 pm

How long has this Valdez cat been on the roster…I missed that one…

    • willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:15 pm

he’d better get out of this up 6 or Murph will have his bags packed.

    • zumiee said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:16 pm

      Just a few days.

      • zumiee said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:17 pm

        And back to Sac-town.

    • Macdog said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:17 pm

      Hopefully not much longer.

  29. zumiee said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:15 pm

People complain about the seagulls, but look at how many people leave garbage at their seats. Is it really too much effort to throw that stuff away?

    • xoot said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:18 pm

      it’s the dodger fans

  30. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:17 pm

OK. Get Valdez the fuck outta there!

  31. unca_chuck said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:17 pm

JJeeebuis. Valdez is serving the post-game meatballs early.

  32. chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:18 pm

    About time. Ballgame!

Boys need to put the pedal down, hard. That next road trip looks ominous.

  33. xoot said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:25 pm

the seagulls know when a game is supposed to end. They circle in toward the end of afternoon games, too. There has to be some sort of high-frequency wave-length that could chase them away–put transmitters up on top of the scoreboard and aim them right at the fucking flock as it begins to gather.

    • chipower9 said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:28 pm

Falcons…that’ll take care of the seagul problem..

      • willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:42 pm

        lulz that’s pretty funny chi.
I was thinking putting something else beside radio waves in the transmitters but…

  34. willedav said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:27 pm

Just don’t recall Duvall hitting like that when he was a Giant. Sure seems to like this place now.

One funny game tonite…Votto one of best hitters in the game today leaves early with back tightness. Duvall takes his place goes 2 or 2 with 3 run bomb, raising his BA to .188.

  35. zumiee said, on May 14, 2018 at 10:49 pm

Pollock sprained his thumb diving for a ball. The D-Backs are collapsing already.

  36. mrsprtdude said, on May 14, 2018 at 11:00 pm

Can’t believe we are only 3 1/2 back.

    • djloo27 said, on May 15, 2018 at 4:38 am
