Worst Loss of The Year
I had to get up at 4am today so I missed the end of last night’s game. Wow, glad I did. To me, it wasn’t the blown save that was bad, those happen, it was Strick’s reaction that has me worried. You can’t be a closer and melt down every time you blow a save. Here’s one take (and it’s spot on):
Of course, Bochy had this take (from Baggs):
“Bochy smirks when asked if the outing shortens Strickland’s leash any.
“There’s no leash on him,” Bochy said. “He probably would take a couple pitches back, but you got to stand behind these guys.
“He’s done a heck of a job in this role.”
The reality is, both of these takes are true.
What a shitty loss. Suarez pitched his ass off…..
That pitch was almost a strike.
Jesus. I hope we lose by 10 so I can just turn this shit off. I hate this Giants right now. We leave 14 men on base in the last 3 innings, and doof our way to another blown lead. Yet Pud jr stays in to give up the lead.
Is Ty Blach ever going to pitch again or did the 6 innings in relief wipe him out for the year?
How long do I have to look at this mental patient and his autographed glove?
Not as long as the gum chewing idiot son of Rebecca.
Odds on us blowing the lead this inning?
Kruk – “I could do jail with a ball and a glove.”
Umm . . . yeah, right.
But not a bat . . .
Just had a Twin flashback.
He used to ride my ass hard, for my spelling, which I still screw up a lot( hey I’ll admit that) Twin was relentless at me,Kat,clean up that spelling you dickwad are don’t post ferchrissakes and your comma’s, periods, quotes etc are worthless as well..Always got under my skin and I was fuming, then I would say a somewhat compliment to “The Oracle” “The almighty Wizard of OZ” and he would say thanks Kat, never knew from post to post battles how he was going to react to subjects, but it was always entertaining…
The Doctor!
I love the idea of a Doc Hanson requiring an English translator.
Buster needs to take some vengeance lessons from the Marlins’ CFer.
Hey I’ll vote for Amy G to go away!!
I wonder how Evan Longoria feels about platooning.
So who’s got better stuff lil pudge, Stratton or Suarez?
Panda
Haha. His line about being born with that curveball was pretty good. I’d say it’s close between Suarez/Rodriguez
That’s a great question. In the 1970s, they would have been part of a rotation of young SF stars. Hard throwers, relatively few walks, good breaking balls.
Rodriguez has good stuff and has only been pitching 3-4 years. He seems to throw a heavy ball and is effectively wild more than anything but maybe he can improve his control.
Oddly, Stratton has the worst BB rate: 3.8 per 9. Suarez is excellent at 1.8, and Rodriguez good at 2.9
Yeah, I like both Suarez and Lil Pudge too.
I think Rodriguez seems to the best upside. He’s pretty raw, but has excellent stuff that will improve. I’d take that kid or Suarez now over Samardzxxx…
Wow that was some major league picking by both Dr Hanson& Appendicitis Belt!
Can’t Bochy just leave Smith in? The guy can get righties out, he’s warm, yeah, he just walked one, but he was sharp in the 8th. Is Dyson better than Smith — I don’t think so…
Well Dyson got the DP ball. Game over.
I still think Bochy has guys warming up too much and pitching when they don’t really need to for the sake of “righty, lefty”.
Good win after a disaster last night…
GIDP to end it nicely done.
Goldy hit a rally-killing HR in the 9th.
And the Cubs scored off the Dodgers’ bullpen and won the second game.
The Giants had some upward movement in the division tonight.
