Who Would You Target?
The Brewers have the second most wins in the NL? Not sure what that says about the NL. I’m not that worried about Milwaukee and I think D-Rod will pitch well enough for us to win tonight. Of course, our hitters look tired and ineffective lately so that could be an issue.
Bill Laskey, who I usually don’t like because he spends most of his show covering for the completely incompetent Vida Blue, brought up a good question on the radio last night: Who would the Giants realistically go after at the trade deadline? They don’t have too many bullets to fire. And if they did fire them, who would they target? The bullpen has been very good this year. Same with the starting pitching. I guess you could go after an outfielder but they can’t even seem to get Slater on the field so that tells me they don’t really want to add on there.
Longo coming back, Panik too. Doesn’t it seem like even if the Giants had a bullet they’d be willing to fire they wouldn’t do it because they don’t have any holes they are desperate to fill?
Tonight’s game was a pile of poop.
Ballgame!
Sell Sell Sell
I fear an oncoming second half Pfffffffttttttttt ….
As the Giants slide back to .500, they’re existing in a Kinks song:
Standing in the middle of nowhere
Wondering how to begin
Lost between tomorrow and yesterday
Between now and then
And now we’re back where we started
Here we go round again
Day after day I get up and I say
I better do it again
Where are all the people going?
Round and round till we reach the end
One day leading to another
Get up go out do it again
Then it’s back where you started
Here we go round again
Back where you started
Come on do it again
And you think today is going to be better
Change the world and do it again
Give it all up and start all over
You say you will but you don’t know when
Then it’s back where you started
Here we go round again
Day after day I get up and I say
Come on better do it again
It’ll be basically the same team next year (minus Pence & Cutch) and hoping for good health…
Duggar sems to have a knack for the totally unintentional opposite field flare.
Or a flair for the totally unintentional opposite field knock…
😁
BTW, Mac continues heating up in Sac.
Another dinger tonight. DL somebody…
They need to bring Joey Bart up ASAP early next season and roll with him. If there’s some OJT, so be it…
Speaking of Pfffffffft, has Blade been around recently?
Seems like it’s been 2-3 weeks since he last posted…
I give ’em credit, the team this year has more competitive balls than last year.
They just usually don’t have quite enough of those balls…
Horrific strike 3…
Give me electronic ball and strike calls.
I still think tney are gonna go after Harper hard in the off season. You can argue whether or not that is a good idea, but I think its happening. I, for one, am in favor of it.
I’m definitely in favor of it San Dog!
You need a true power hitter and he’s one of them..
Re Craigs thread…I watched the game tonight. A rare treat on MLB. Mixed emotions about sending prospects away. We lost mostly because they did something we never seem to do. Send a runner. Easy DP if yelich isn’t going on 3-2. Now 1st & 3rd vs nobody on. At least we didn’t role over in the 9th like we surely would have last year.
Kuip on Melancon:
“I thought he did fine tonight”. Just bad luck.
Keereist…
As for Steve, I believe he’s in Saigon at the moment, he came over for his daughter’s 1st birthday a couple weeks ago. Maybe going back to the US in 2 or 3 weeks or so. Now that I’m living and working up in Hanoi, I don’t get to see him much when he comes over… although he and I did talk about maybe doing a weekend in Bangkok before he heads back, not sure I can swing that….
Yes automatic HOF 3in5 does that,
But my Bochy watch now stands at 1853-1856 career as a manager..
Baseball Reference has him at 1905-1906. KNBR the other day says he just passed Casey Stengel on the wins list. I suppose he’s targeting the 2000 wins finish line before he hangs ’em up…
Yeah I might not have it right Snarkk, except the part where he will finish with more losses then wins..
I think you’re right Kat.
Without major changes, Giants are headed for a .500 finish at best.
What, Panik coming back is going to jump start something?
Longoria back now will? This thing needs to be blown up…
Either that or we wait for the supposed strong finish by Cutch. Been hearing about that for a while now. Then again, when we win the 1st game if a series we usually lose the next 2. maybe we are flipping the table on this series.
