Everything Sucks (Except that Pic)

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 4, 2018

Posey took another shot to the head and now the rest of his season is in doubt. Secretly, his hip is probably happy about this. The idea of keeping Buster behind the dish for the rest of his career is just absurd and maybe this latest injury will wake up everyone involved.

Bochy claimed Stratton’s stuff was good, he was just lacking confidence. If I sucked I’d lack confidence, too.

The injuries suffered this year seem worse than I can ever remember. It’s a miracle we’re still on the right side of .500.

Keenland story is probably better told in the comment section, not the main thread……

From the Flapalooza that just happened in NY:

Stros and Verlander beat LA in big rematch 2-1. Pederson homered to lead off for LA and they never scored again. Verlander struck out 14 rondon 4 out save Springer once again hero with 2 run double off Wood.
Stros played without Altuve and Correa. They’ll be here in SF Mon Tues.

Great to hear travel stories from snarkk and sandawg.

At Claiborne Farm, # 1 stall in the stallion stable: East Goer, Bold Ruler, , Runhappy, Unbridled, Secretariat. Pretty good stall I guess…

    • snarkk said, on August 4, 2018 at 8:54 am

      Easy Goer

    • Flavor said, on August 4, 2018 at 8:57 am

      Wow. That’s serious royalty

    • djloo27 said, on August 4, 2018 at 3:56 pm

As Claiborne sires they were dwarfed by Mr. Prospector and Danzig…

Groom took out War Front, one of their stallions. $250k stud fee. Younger Snarkkette got to hug him for a photo. Groom says “you may be fortunate in life young lady, but this could be the only time you get to hug $85 million”…

Just saw that clip of Ventura getting pummeled by Ryan. Ventura got such unfair ridicule for that.
Ventura told the story in an interview. He had just joined the White Sox. He was told everyone on the team was so tired of Ryan hitting people with pitches that whoever gets hit next is expected to charge the mound. His heart wasn’t in it, and he certainly didn’t want to hurt Ryan, so he just ran out and grabbed Ryan around the waste and took the punches. And Ryan was pulling the punches. It was professional wrestling really. It fit a narrative for Ryan as the old tough guy. People like narratives.

    • Flavor said, on August 4, 2018 at 1:01 pm

what kind of dumbass runs out there, wraps his arms around him and then just starts taking punches? I can get behind this story, even the part about his heart not being in it, but just running out there to be a punching bag makes zero sense and I don’t know anyone that would do that.

      • zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 1:11 pm

He had literally no anger towards Ryan. He only ran out there because his new teammates expected him to do it. He couldn’t not run out there.
If you watch the clip, he gets hit by the pitch, starts to go to firstbase and then remembers, oh yeah, my teammates want me to charge the mound.
And so he runs out there with no desire to hurt Ryan. And Ryan is not punching him very hard anyway. They’re almost fake punches. Ventura had no idea how ridiculous it would look on video.

      • Flavor said, on August 4, 2018 at 3:40 pm

those weren’t fake punches. I haven’t seen the still pics in a while but wasn’t Ventura’s blood all over Ryan’s uni?

“If I sucked I’d lack confidence, too.” LMAO.

Stratton was fucking pathetic…total waste of sperm. Put that boy on a slow train to Sacto with a one-way ticket.

Snarkk and SanDog – thanks for all the great updates. Cool to hear about the travels. Happy Trails, boys.

Just got back from a great afternoon with SanDawg (easiest guy on Earth to hang with), his beautiful and brilliant daughter, Sarah and the always amazing MacDog. Much thanks to Big Flavor who has made days like this possible for so many of us. What the fuck has that ball chasing jerk-off in McCovey Cove ever done?

    • chipower9 said, on August 4, 2018 at 3:37 pm

Awesome! Any pictures to share? I sure cherish the short time I got to hang with you, Mac, SanD and his son, and Blade a couple of years ago in NY. And yes, this bad ass blog made that gathering, and your recent one all possible. We are forever indebted, Flav!

      • djloo27 said, on August 4, 2018 at 3:43 pm

        I think there’s 1 or 2…

    • Flavor said, on August 4, 2018 at 3:39 pm

“10,000 times the celebrity….” that’s what i whisper to myself in the mirror in the morning before I leave the house. Pumps me up. 🙂

Great shot of dad & daughter…

  11. zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 4:51 pm

In slow-motion, this “fight” looks like less than advertised. And we’re supposed to believe Ryan would risk his valuable pitching hand hitting the crown of Ventura’s head really hard?

    • djloo27 said, on August 4, 2018 at 4:55 pm

Looks like everybody who jumped in did nothing…

      • zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 5:04 pm

Yeah, number 6 makes a really heroic effort to break things up.

      • Flavor said, on August 4, 2018 at 5:29 pm

        nothing is an understatement, wow

  12. zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 4:56 pm

Ventura jogs towards firstbase and then remembers his new teammates expect him to rush the mound on Ryan.

    • zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 5:08 pm

Walking towards firstbase I meant to say.

  13. zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 5:17 pm

    Great Flapalooza photo. Very cool!
Can you guys see Loo’s eyes through those glasses? Inquiring minds want to know!

    • djloo27 said, on August 4, 2018 at 5:44 pm

I offered to remove them, but SanDawg told me to leave them on.
I don’t think he wanted to see the carnage they hide – especially after eating…

What The Fuck, I just got home from the NYC Flapalooza and it’s already 5-0.

I’ve been ass-deep in alligators in the kitchen…first chance to come up for air and comment…

Cutch sucks Sasquatch balls with his attempt to play the OF…

Another big inning most likely sinking them again tonight…fuck….

  19. willedav said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:03 pm

boom! Longo to deepest part of yard.

Marty L had Longo as his player; said he’d had many ABs against him in the AL before.

  20. chipower9 said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:06 pm

That picture is bad ass. Everyone is looking good there. Styling and profiling….,

  21. Flavor said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:17 pm

you’ll notice there’s nothing on the shirt about being an mlb pitcher

    • Flavor said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:20 pm

actually maybe that’s her brother in law, I can’t tell.

  22. mrsprtdude said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:18 pm

My daughter has a friend that works for Dbacks. In a suite yesterday and today. Ahhh maybe Thursday would have been better? Bummer. Our pitchers have certainly sucked in the 1st inning..

  23. chipower9 said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:28 pm

    Duggar!

    Very cool…first ML bomb…

  24. willedav said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:30 pm

if D can pull one down the line like that at ATT it’s shortest distance.
    Kid’s on the board.

  25. Lurker John said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:41 pm

Good for Duggar, but Longo just took a change right down broadway with 2 ducks on the pond.

    • chipower9 said, on August 4, 2018 at 6:56 pm

Yep. You’ve got to swing the fucking bat there. You’re killing me Smalls!

  27. chipower9 said, on August 4, 2018 at 7:02 pm

  28. chipower9 said, on August 4, 2018 at 7:22 pm

    Damned! Great catch by Duggar!

He’s kinda morphing into Rick Reuschel.

  30. willedav said, on August 4, 2018 at 7:53 pm

F ing first guy up sunny beach.

    • Bozo said, on August 4, 2018 at 7:58 pm

That is, Rick Reuschel without the pitches.

  31. Flavor said, on August 4, 2018 at 8:08 pm

I think I’d prefer McCutchin to spread some of those hits out over multiple games

  32. Bozo said, on August 4, 2018 at 8:12 pm

    Well that was ugly.

  33. djloo27 said, on August 4, 2018 at 8:18 pm

Just about ready to admit it’s over…

  34. djloo27 said, on August 4, 2018 at 8:54 pm

Talking to SD about his hero Bobby Bonds today I forgot to bring up how funny it was that he lied (by a lot) about his SB total on an old Miller Lite commercial. The correct figure is 461. Even more incredible is that it aired without being fact checked in advance…

    • zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 9:37 pm

Wow, I never saw that before. And actually not bad for a Miller Lite commercial.

  35. zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 9:02 pm

The Astro/Dodger game is a fun one.

  36. zumiee said, on August 4, 2018 at 9:58 pm

    The A’s are 20 games over .500.

    • willedav said, on August 5, 2018 at 6:47 am

Yanks are now closer to the A’s than they are to Boston and first place. WC could see them bounced out in 1.

  37. willedav said, on August 5, 2018 at 6:46 am

SD’s comment about Bum and 5/80 deal not that far fetched. He’s leader by example for the younger ones–couple days ago without best stuff holds AZ to 1 run and Giants eventually go off and win. Suarez unable to limit damage in first, and then later after Giants scored. He holds them to 5 it’s still a ballgame but he couldn’t do it.
Even Strat said the same thing, he just couldn’t work out of trouble and make better pitches.

    • djloo27 said, on August 5, 2018 at 7:07 am

That would shock me. If he takes only 5 years, I think the price is $125 million…

  38. djloo27 said, on August 5, 2018 at 7:26 am

Seven years after the Beltran trade, Wheeler seems to have finally gotten it together…
