Slappy Win

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on August 15, 2018

Is there anything better than a game that makes Puig look like a little slappy bitch? I’m assuming the interest in acquiring his bitch-ass has gone down a bit? I hope?

I missed most of this game, one of our cats got hit in the eye by a snake and I had to take him to the ER. On the way down there he ripped straight through the cat carry case I had him in. That was an interesting ride and visit, let me tell you.

Carson is a big boy, I bet the snake took the worst of that tangle…

Anyway, you guys saw it. That was a game designed to embolden a team and a fan base. From that standpoint I couldn’t appreciate Slap(uig) any more!!!!!

POTG is a tie: Hanson, Suarez and Hundley who is going down as one of my favorite Giant catchers of all time.

So did Boch throw Pence a bone 🍖 cause Slater fucked up a few times last night, especially the bunt, are because he has broken ribs colliding into the wall?

That half inning sucked, but this buyout offer I will allow Flav to present me is awesome:

-You only need to cover my beer tab for the Saturday in Reno
-Lunch on you at the Top Deck Diner at Cal Neva
-You carry around my Toomgis coffee mug for 4 consecutive hours on Saturday. You can’t explain that you are
doing it because you bought out a bet. You just have to act like that’s the way you roll. (Feel free to fill it with
    the beverage of your choice.)

That’s it. Cut and paste that thing right back to me and lets get this done.

    ____________________

I’m gonna sleep on this. Without an expiration date on the offer time is no longer of the essence and I will take my thoughtful time reviewing it…..

Not down with Moronta coming in with the bags full. He starts out cold. I’d have let Holland face one more guy.

  12. djloo27 said, on August 15, 2018 at 8:54 pm

Holland disappears in the 5th inning like Shoeless Joe in the cornfield…

Not only a great movie, but the Giants great escape that inning!

  17. willedav said, on August 15, 2018 at 8:58 pm

Giants ERA at the Latrine is 0.78, 2 runs in 23 innings. And one of those is the tainted one where Gorks blew up Craw.

Probably my favorite Twilight Zone episode is Earl Holliman in “Where is Everybody?”
The unfolding of the dilemma is so excellent that even though the twist ending doesn’t fully live up to the premise, it’s still a poignant and moving episode.
A guy doesn’t remember who he is or how he ended up on a road walking into a small town. It turns out the town has been deserted. All the people only recently left, but they’re all gone. The episode explores what such a basic strange dilemma could do to a person’s sanity.
The cinematography is very good, also. Lots of interesting camera angles.

    • sandog said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:04 pm

Nice! Not sure I’ve seen that one.

I was always partial to the one with Agnes Moorehead as the old woman in the cabin fighting off the miniature alien invaders. Actually, there are so many classics it’s hard for me to make a call on my favorite.

      • djloo27 said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:18 pm

I think anyone named Agnes was 70 years old at birth…

  36. snarkk said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:40 pm

Rod Serling was one of the greatest TV writers ever.
Twilight Zone always had you end up thinking something like WTF did I just see, WTF did that mean? Would I have done what the main character did faced with that situation?
    Not exactly Laverne & Shirley…

    • zumiee said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:47 pm

      Yes.

    • djloo27 said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:56 pm

      and runs scored…

  51. unca_chuck said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:54 pm

Just say no. He’s had some big hits but he’s had loooong stretches of dreck. We need to get younger not older.

    • sandog said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:57 pm

We get younger in 2021 Chuck. In the meantime, we add vets on one and two year deals. Part of me would be ok with bringing back Cutch PK, but another part thinks he’d make somebody a great DH. The glovework has been no bueno.

    • djloo27 said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:58 pm

They wouldn’t re-sign him if he won the WS for them (like Renteria)…

      • chipower9 said, on August 15, 2018 at 10:01 pm

Agree, Loo. Nor should they, IMO.

    • alleykat69 said, on August 15, 2018 at 10:02 pm

Yeah but the “Giants Way” has always been under Boch/Sabes we stay older then younger!
Still the oldest team in the league I believe avg 30.5 age it’s what they do that can’t help themeselves staying geriatric..

  52. zumiee said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:57 pm

Night Gallery was another great show by Rod Serling! His gallery of paintings told the stories to come alive..Serling was always amazing in his intros, just put a sense of a chill up your spine/arm..

    • zumiee said, on August 15, 2018 at 10:00 pm

Yeah, a scary series I didn’t like as much. I’m not a fan of the horror genre.

  54. unca_chuck said, on August 15, 2018 at 9:58 pm

Fuck me sideways. 6″ off the plate for the Dodgers are strikes. 4″ inside the box are balls..

  58. zumiee said, on August 15, 2018 at 10:02 pm

Turner whines about strikes a LOT. Seriously, who does he think he is? The Dodger players get puffed up views of themselves.

    • unca_chuck said, on August 15, 2018 at 10:04 pm

I don’t know. I don’t see enough of them to know, but this guy tonight has been awful.
