A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

Niner Wipe Out Game

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on September 23, 2018

It’s days like this that I’m glad I don’t live in an area that allows for sports betting. I’m not sure I could stop myself from the free money that appears to be offered on the Niner game. And no, I don’t have a problem betting against my team. Technically I do it fairly often in daily fantasy. If there’s an angle to make money, why not? Playoffs are off limits. It’s hard to explain if you don’t play but it’s easy for me to separate my fan interest from my DFS interest. Fan interest always comes first, DFS interest is more of an *insurance policy*.

Anyway, the Niners secondary looked like absolute shit to me last week. Matt Stafford, who sucked, missed at least 6 deep balls to wide open receivers. And that was our defense AT HOME. I expect them to perform much worse in that country fuck corn field out in the middle of nowhere. I doubt the return of Foster will matter much since he’ll be limping off the field by…..I’ll set the over/under at *mid way through the second quarter*. And the “KC Defense Sucks” argument doesn’t hit too hard with me if Jimmy G is just gonna stand in the pocket like a statue begging to get sacked. I’m guessing he’s been told to get the ball out quicker this week and on the road in a loud ass stadium that can lead to mistakes and interceptions.

I actually didn’t play the Chief players too hard this week because ownership % matters and they are the heavy chalk this week at both draftkings and fanduel. I can’t play the heavy chalk in DFS, you can’t win anything that way even if you hit. For my teams it would be fabulous if the KC D scored a pick 6 or 2 and kept Mahomes and his weaponry off the field. Of course I’m not playing the KC D, get it?

Before he hit the poker table my main man in Reno, PaSalon, texted me this late last night and I signed off on it. If it were me I’d add a 0 to that ticket. Loo, enjoy the W today, you Chief fans deserve something to be happy about for once…..

Anyway, GO NINERS! My doubts are strong but of course I want them to win the game….

It seems like the Giants have solved one problem going into next season. This kid Garcia has been raking and that eliminates the need to re-sign Hundley (who wants to get paid for a very good year filling in for Posey). That will save the Giants some coin to fill in the blanks elsewhere. By the by, I’ll find it hilarious if Garcia matches Posey’s 5 bombs by the end of this season. Not certain, but this kid hasn’t even had 100 ABs.

    xoot props to Kentucky football.
Meanwhile I thought I saw Warriors signed T Ulis. They made an offer to McCaw who apparently wasn’t too impressed. Bad move.

Maybe last night gets Shaw to trust Costello more. He’s pretty good and has nice core of guys to go to.

Kittle drops a first down catch, which leads to a shitty punt, which leads to a KC TD. Shitty tackling as well.

    Kittle redeems himself a little.

might have to get 40 to win today. Mahomes and Co lighting them up.

watched some of Dolphins-Raiders. Fins just scored long TD pass to K stills who caught it on run near back of end zone and ran into wall which is about 2 steps past white boundary. Ouch

DE who sacked Carr named Hayes is from Winston-Salem St. Only ever heard of one pro athlete from same school…who?

yeah knew you had that one. Man those first few years with Bullets, wow.

      • djloo27 said, on September 23, 2018 at 11:59 am

I think you explained it once, Willie, but how could the Bullets trade him to their arch rival Knicks for 2 mediocre bench players?

    …the headline said it all.

Meanwhile on the Giants feed erudite Affeldt just referred to Joey Bart as “that catcher guy”

Suarez looking like he might not last too long today…

    35-24. Niners coming back.

Foster hurt to begin the 4th. I was off by a little over a quarter.

The NFL is flagging its way into stupidity. Unreal these calls being made. Jusczyc runs his route and gets called for PI. Unreal. Changes the whole game. Fuck the NFL.

For Bochy to keep batting Blanco leadoff is a kind of flat-earth society commitment.
At least the team won’t get no-hit today. That would be embarrassing.
    More embarrassing, I mean.

    • Macdog said, on September 23, 2018 at 1:43 pm

Blanco shouldn’t even be playing, never mind batting leadoff.

  14. unca_chuck said, on September 23, 2018 at 1:34 pm

    72-90 here we come!

  15. unca_chuck said, on September 23, 2018 at 1:35 pm

They’ll prolly have Bummie hit leadoff soon.

  16. Flavor said, on September 23, 2018 at 2:17 pm

Miller just said on radio that the Giants were the highest drawing road team in MLB. That surprises me, this is not an entertaining team. Does that surprise any of you?

    • zumiee said, on September 23, 2018 at 2:19 pm

There’s still lots of holdover from the 3-in-5.

      • djloo27 said, on September 23, 2018 at 2:35 pm

Gives the bandwagon crowd a place to wear all the swag they’ve accumulated since 2010…

lost in the sadness of Jimmy G being lost for the season: Shanny’s game plan was not good. He got completely schooled by Andy Reed today. Does Salah deserve to get fired after that pathetic performance?

  18. Flavor said, on September 23, 2018 at 4:04 pm

Loo, tell me you wagered on the Chiefs today. You can bet there, can’t you?

    • djloo27 said, on September 23, 2018 at 4:45 pm

Not legally, but it can be done. I really don’t bet sports very much.
      Hate the odds..

Happy for Tiger. Weird though that the gallery was yelling “USA, USA . . . ” when he sunk the putt at the 18th green. lol

      good for golf, for sure.

This is why football is so hard for me to watch. Pansy refs calling Clay Mathews for a “roughing the passer” penalty (3rd one called on him this season). This used to be called football back in the day. Dunno what to call it or make of it now . . .

Blade I think the fans were chanting up USA USA 🇺🇸 for the Ryder Cup coming up Sept 27..

    • blade3colorado said, on September 23, 2018 at 7:15 pm

Ahh . . . Ok, I guess that would make sense.

  22. alleykat69 said, on September 23, 2018 at 7:06 pm

Speaking of fans( well idiots in this case) theirs a lot of hype to bring back Colin Kaepernick &Eric Reid with the injuries that just happened to kill the season..

  23. unca_chuck said, on September 23, 2018 at 7:14 pm

KC ran so many screens for so many big pays. It has been a problem for the 49ers for the last 3 regimes.

Still and all the refs calling back the TD that would have brought the Niners within one score was bullshit of the highest order. The Niners played horrible but were still in the game if that play stands. Some of the penatlies were legiut, biut at least 3 big ones weren’t. KC must have gotten 7 first downs by penalty.

As far as jimmy G goes, that was an epically stupid injury.

    a) he needs to go OB to stop the clock.

    b) Lowering his throwing shoulder to gain 1/3 a yard did nothing but get him hurt

He steps out of bounds, no injury.

    • djloo27 said, on September 23, 2018 at 7:34 pm

Anybody impressed with KC at all?

      • unca_chuck said, on September 23, 2018 at 7:47 pm

They struggle to close games out that’s for sure. Take away the bullshit penalties and we would have been a hell of a lot closer.

  24. unca_chuck said, on September 23, 2018 at 7:45 pm

You know what’s funny about that play on Alex Smith, Blade? They call that a penalty because that’s how Aaron Rodgers got hurt last year. So, when you leave your feet to drive the QB into the ground, it’s now a penalty.

    • blade3colorado said, on September 23, 2018 at 9:42 pm

Yeah, I read that too. Ironic, eh? I also read,

“There were an NFL-record 21 roughing-the-passer penalties through the first two weeks of the 2018 season. Matthews is the first NFL player since at least 2001 to be penalized three times for roughing the passer in the first three games of a season. He entered 2018 with a total of four roughing penalties in his 10-year career.”

Consequently, I bet they reconsider that penalty at the end of the season.

  25. unca_chuck said, on September 23, 2018 at 7:59 pm

Detroit lose to SF and beats NE. Huh.

Football is in a tough place. The sport is so violent and dangerous that it probably shouldn’t even really exist. As people have pointed out, you could never introduce a new high school sport nowadays that kills a few people every year like high school football does.
And yet the sport has a big place in American culture and history. There’s no easy answers about what to do with the sport regarding safety.
