A Place To Talk About Giants Baseball

This Will Stay Bad

Gonna have a hard time hitting the coveted *six win* number if we keep getting shut out……

I’m still not sure what the point was of firing Evans and keeping Sabean. And whoever the new guy is will report to Baer? Baha, only if you can fit your meeting time in between his shopping mall rose garden meetings. And with Sabean’s hulking shadow lurking in the background spouting off his nonsense about “2 run singles” and “professional hitters” it will be impossible for anyone to do anything of substance.

Warriors can’t start soon enough…..

that looks like a cover Kokonuts son might have designed.

I had 7 wins, that looks out of reach.
Baer on KNBR now, spouting platitudes. And, saying there comes a time where new ideas are needed. Well, maybe he needs to go…

It’s always weird when someone gets fired and everyone talks about what a nice guy he was. You know what’s nice? When your colleagues don’t throw you under the bus for their own ineptitude. Hope Sabean enjoys those scouting trips through the northeast. Vaya con Dios, Booby.

      Couldn’t agree more.

Who are the front office people that other teams are poaching from the Giants? I haven’t heard of any, maybe other Flapers know. If nobody wants your people, that’s all you need to know about where things are headed…

Had to look up Wilderness Years and came up with this. I used to live in Carbondale back in the day . . .

    https://www.aspendailynews.com/news/two-decades-in-the-wilderness-workshop-a-q-a-with/article_da36de9a-bd46-11e8-8c4c-d7f12aeca41f.html

The Aspen daily news gave me such wonderful headlines as “Dead Guitarist Improving” after Jerry Garcia recovered from a relapse, and “Supreme Court Delivers Big Blow to Gays”.

Here’s a recent (tongue in cheek) article. Good to see they are still as fucked up and crazy as ever.

News in Brief: Trump Kids come for winter, stay for summer
In a story as old as Aspen, a prominent family visiting for spring break has decided to stay for the summer. Three of Trump’s offspring, Donnie Jr., Ivanka, and the other son have chosen to stay in Aspen for the upcoming summer season. Donnie was overhead at Slowmo’s Deli saying, “I never realized this place wasn’t snowy all the time. I should see it before non-man-made climate change messes things up.” After much discussion including logistics, who gets the big room, and finding a chef, the children chose to book an Airbnb on Red Mountain for the summer. The palatial 10,420-square-foot home features its own situation room, which doubles as a terrace veranda with sweeping views from Independence Pass to Snowmass. “I guess we’re locals now. I hope they give me a stool at the Aspen Beer Works,” said Trump Jr. Of course, they’ll weather the wet season of April and May in a variety of locations, paid for by the American taxpayers. But expect delays June through August with a flurry of secret service agents and paparazzi on the streets of Aspen. The Airbnb space they rented is owned by Russian oligarchs who hacked your brain last fall. No word yet on whether the one other son will apply for employee housing in the fall. Recent federal budget cuts by their father could impact his chances of scoring employee housing should he extend his stay into the fall.

Styx has a great song called “Man in The Wilderness “

    • Bozo said, on September 25, 2018 at 10:21 am

And we had a man in the wilderness named Stix.

Not sure how much room this will take up, but I found some pics from the building of AT&T. A guy i worked with, his brother was an electrician who got us onsite.

    Excellent, Chuck.
Speaking of Stix, I’ve brought this up before…
We mostly all think he should be a free man, but if you didn’t know him from here, and you were the person charged with deciding his fate, would you let him out? Nowadays you have to really think about it…

    • blade3colorado said, on September 25, 2018 at 4:13 pm

The dumb fuck kitchen employee at Comerica Park should get life for spitting on a pizza. Stix? I would let him out. He’s harmless in my opinion.

      • djloo27 said, on September 25, 2018 at 4:25 pm

        Agree on both.
Stix is paying the price for all the mass shooters…

      • unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 9:01 pm

Did I miss a story somewhere?

  16. Flavor said, on September 25, 2018 at 6:23 pm

I would let Stix out as long as he had some mental health oversight, hopefully a psychiatrist who monitors his meds—and maybe a PO who checks on him and makes sure he’s taking his meds. He’s pretty delusional, I wouldn’t want him wandering around society unmedicated. But that’s just me.
Chuck, those pics are rad, can’t believe it’s been this many years. What year was this by the way?

    • zumiee said, on September 25, 2018 at 9:06 pm

And he’s almost got his OPS out of the .500s.

Man, Krukow is really pouring it on about Pence. Serious bromance..

  22. unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 9:33 pm

Why the fuck is Gorkys running?

  23. unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 9:34 pm

And the base hit that would have tied the score. Jesus. How stupid is this team?

  24. unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 9:38 pm

    Blanco to the rescue!!

Trying to get two innings from Melancon….that’s pretty wacky.

  27. unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 10:41 pm

I posted that before it happened. Good to see these guys get their last moments in the sun.

  28. unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 10:45 pm

I was talking Bout Blanco. Jesus. We don’t need that break.

  29. unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 10:46 pm

It’s always great when the crowd is so sparse that you can hear the individual heckles.

  30. zumiee said, on September 25, 2018 at 10:49 pm

Padres flubbed that inning away. Melancon survives the inning.

  31. unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 10:53 pm

Bummie to PH. Breaking out all the stops.

  32. alleykat69 said, on September 25, 2018 at 10:53 pm

We all know this organization needs a complete overhaul with young minds leading the way especially a new GM with a teardown of multiple dead weight needing jettisoned (a daunting task)and if he has to still has to go thru dipshit Larry Baer for final approval it’s going to be a tough hire for someone who won’t get enough say in the process!
The new guy would want his own new coaching staff picked including manager, but that’s where the conflict lies, as he won’t have say on Bochy who will still write his own ticket for his final year, which will only hurt the rebuilding process longer..

  33. unca_chuck said, on September 25, 2018 at 10:55 pm

    Bummie FTW . . .

Bummie wanted none of the gatorade bath. Hanson ended up wearing it.

    • zumiee said, on September 25, 2018 at 11:03 pm

Pence held on to Bum to try to protect him from injury from his teammates. Hundley still managed to jump on Bum. So stupid.

  35. alleykat69 said, on September 25, 2018 at 11:09 pm

Yeah that was pretty stupid about Hundley, he was about to put Bum on the DL till next ST slamming into pitching shoulder..

  36. zumiee said, on September 25, 2018 at 11:17 pm

Just saw the replay. Bum pushing away the Gatorade container is pretty darned funny.

Nice to see Clint. Fans at the games are diehards now. Good for them to see a win.
