Atl Still In This

Good to see Folty getting the ball tonight. I don’t know what happened in Game 1 but he’s a stud and he deserves another chance to show the world what he can do.

Let’s go, win tonight and then put it all on Kershaw’s shaky shoulders in Game 5.

Loo I think the MVP season/winning WS did it for Cepeda. Gibson loved him and was ecstatic to have real power hitter in LU.

J Shea had interesting column on Giants GM search Sunday Chron. Namely, A’s have couple guys, long time David Forst and newer asst GM and director of player personnel B Owens who would make perfect fits—Forst to run baseball ops and bring in Owens as GM.
While it must gall Baer A’s were so good this year, hella marketing move to steal couple of their top guys.

Kicker would be if A’s extend Melvin and he asks for an opt out, they sign him to manage SF 2020.

One ? tho– with all the innovations on offense, why can’t anyone score from the 1 yard line? out of the shotgun, 5 yds farther away…what?

Did you hear Chris Collinsworth asking the same thing last night during MNF? He said Vince Lombardi would be turning over in his grave.

Setting up nicely for a Brewers-Stros series…especially if Atlanta can push this to 5 games and the same for the Red Sox/Yanks series.

If no one has mentioned, SI has a current story about the likely DoJ investigation in the Latin American operations of MLB. The story highlights the potential criminal level activity of the Flodgers. SI got inside Flodger documents and emails documenting inside acknowledgment within the Flodger organization of the potential criminal level activity….pray this could lead to potential enormous penalties placed on those likely criminals…

If he played us all the time his numbers would be 4x greater. I hated that guy.

I’m not watching the game; why did Folty only pitch 4 innings? Did he get injured? I see he only gave up 1 run, and I’m wondering if the manager was over-managing.

They pinch-hit for him down 1-0 with 2nd and 3rd and 2 out in the 4th, and Suzuki hit a 2-run single.

The idiot TBS announcers, especially Darling who I normally like a lot, keep harping endlessly about the wet field. There’s been nothing more than an occasional light mist here today and I’m sure the infield was covered. So fuckin’ annoying…

    Sign of the times:
Fan in front row drops cell phone on field trying to catch foul pop…

Too bad J.R. Smith doesn’t play baseball. I understand he tosses fans phones, especially, if they try to take a photo of him.

Astros are a machine. Love their shortstop, Correa and their 3rd baseman, Bregman. Both are only 24 and are just scratching the surface of how good they’re going to be.

Not watching the game, but was Boone asleep at the switch? Wondering why he didn’t pull Severino earlier???

    • djloo27 said, on October 8, 2018 at 6:11 pm

Although he didn’t look very good, he wasn’t really hit hard…

      • blade3colorado said, on October 8, 2018 at 6:14 pm

Yeah, dunno (I’m watching the dots on Gamecast). It just looks like he should have pulled the plug on Severino earlier. Not that it matters, since “gas can” Lynn just about sealed it for the Red Sox.

More annoying announcer shit: “A 3 RBI double”

    My projection: 2025…
