Milwaukee Loses, Dubs Win!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on October 17, 2018

I’m assuming that if you bullpen a game you’re praying it doesn’t go extra innings, right? They could have gotten more than 6 innings out of the first 3 guys but Brewer bats couldn’t hit so they got stuck with Guerra for infinity and while he pitched well it’s always just a matter of time before he settles into the losing side of a game.

The story right now: ice cold bats. Cain, Yelich, Mousy, these guys are coming up ant small.

Dubs taking care of business and making me feel ok about The Bay for just a minute….

KCBS guy this morning echoed what Xoot said about Machado throwing bat here after being pitched up and in and going off in Oaktown after Donaldson tagged him out at 3b. Then they played Yelich clip where he calls it “dirty play by dirty player” who does this stuff over and over. Dunno what makes him think he’s so entitled. Never would have survived baseball in ’60s.

Warriors, yawn. Ceremony took forever they get nice lead at half and then let OKC back into the game. Every coach will tell you first few minutes pf second half matter–come out strong and put them away right here. Instead they let OKC without Westbrook and Roberson off the hook and this was close game til the end.
If I’m Westbrook I’m telling my guys next time I see GS I’m dropping 50 on them.
Barkley is right—they get bored and play sloppy with the ball (13 in first half Green with 6 for the game) and stop guarding people. Must still drive Kerr crazy.

Nice to see O board work and dunks from Looney and Jones. Gotta wonder how much O Livingston and Igs have left. Still wish they could bring outside shooter off the bench—Livingston Igs Bell Looney (plus Jones) very limited range and Cook isn’t reliable shooter either.

I do like the bigs Looney and Jones (and eventually Boogie) in the mix for the spacing they provide.

Westie can drop 50 and it won’t matter. Livingston was disappointing last year. I hope he can get his shot back because his bench points are fairly important.

    • willedav said, on October 17, 2018 at 8:25 am

Bench points yes. Where are they coming from? I’d tell Green no more 3s—if you have that much room then take the ball in closer to 15 and shoot a pull up. If a defender comes at him someone should be open.
Those first few minutes of second half were starters vs. starters and OKC and George lit them up and GS never shook them loose.
GS is obviously better team, just didn’t think it should have been near that close.

That’s why I wanted them to sign jamal crawford— bench points problem averted

      • gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 10:35 am

Two years ago pre-KD, I wanted them to sign Ray Allen for the exact same point. May have been a nice asset in the way Games 5-6-7 ended up playing out.

  4. unca_chuck said, on October 17, 2018 at 9:36 am

Crawford would be cool to have. Even at 38. Don’t know why we haven’t tried to get him. If Loony and Jones can provide anything inside, Green’s playing time, especially at center, goes down. Which is a good thing for him down the stretch. In games, and during the season. Once Boogie starts playing, Green’s life will be much easier as Green won’t be playing the 5 at all. Or barely anyway.

  5. gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 10:34 am

Well I was going to wait to get home after work to watch the Warriors game:((((

Should have known not to check the Flap!!! But I barely was awake by 10:15 last night. East Coast time bit me in the arse with two playoff games beginning at 5 that I was out of gas by 10:15. Of course playing in a golf tournament yday with a few adult beverages did not help….I just watched the cheap shit move by machado’s. That should fire the Brew Crew up tonight. Well at least Jeffress is rested for today:(

Wtf? Miley pulled after walking the lead off batter in the first inning? This is crazy after the long extra inning pen game last night

    • xoot said, on October 17, 2018 at 2:24 pm

      Completely preplanned. Wow.

      • gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 2:30 pm

Watch this blow up in their face…

  8. gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 2:26 pm

What the hell is counsel doing with a short bullpen???

  9. gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 2:29 pm

Ok radio coverage of the game just noted they were able to replace Gio on the roster. So that got a fresh arm replacing him in Davies…

    • gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 2:37 pm

If Brewers win this, do they then restart Miley in game 6??? They obviously don’t have confidence in him against a right-handed heavy line-up. Didn’t he just shut them down in Game 2???

      • xoot said, on October 17, 2018 at 3:11 pm

Our announcers say Miley has been designated SP for game six, already. He was on three days rest today I think

  10. unca_chuck said, on October 17, 2018 at 3:05 pm

Baaah. Just turned on the game. 1-0 Brewers but they had the bases full.

  11. unca_chuck said, on October 17, 2018 at 3:06 pm

    What happened to Gio?

2 DPs for Manny the moocher.

  13. zumiee said, on October 17, 2018 at 3:30 pm

Yelich blew a chance to break the game open. What’s up with that dude?

  14. blade3colorado said, on October 17, 2018 at 3:33 pm

If the Brew crew gets a good lead, watch Machado get beaned. I knew practically zero about this guy prior to the playoffs, but except for possibly Puig, I can’t think of anyone who is less a team player than this pos.

    • xoot said, on October 17, 2018 at 3:44 pm

I would love to see him respond to FB in the ribs.

  18. unca_chuck said, on October 17, 2018 at 4:12 pm

Machado got pegged. 2 on one out.

    • xoot said, on October 17, 2018 at 4:13 pm

Even he knew that wasn’t intentional. Hope he gets a couple more

      • Bozo said, on October 17, 2018 at 4:21 pm

Agreed, and I wouldn’t mind if they wanted to do a practice HBP on Joc Pederson. Maybe it’s just me, but I can’t stand that guy either.

  19. unca_chuck said, on October 17, 2018 at 4:15 pm

    fuck 2-1 dogs.

  21. gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 5:33 pm

What a vomit inducing game…my projection that the Brewers offense would. e better than the Fodger pitching ain’t holding up…

  22. Flavor said, on October 17, 2018 at 5:53 pm

Fuck em, let em keep winning. The more they win the closer they get to the ultimate painful ending. They aren’t winning this year. AGAIN.

  23. gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 5:53 pm

I think oddly enough the turning point of this series was in the 2nd game and 9th inning. Brewers were down a run with Jansen pitching and Perez I think got on and stole second with 2 outs and Yelich was at the plate.

Yelich was mvp anointed and time for him to pull out a miracle moment elevating his status as a true star and possibly give them a chance to tie the game at least and giving them a chance to win later and go up in the series 2-0. Jansen threw a high cutter and Yelich swung and topped the ball foul. He throws another high cutter and again he tops it foul. He finally throws a third cutter and Yelich weakly grounds out.

That tied the series 1-1 and gave the Fodgers life….I can say I feel good that at least Brewers will win game 6 but after these last 2, who knows???

    • gianthead said, on October 17, 2018 at 5:55 pm

And you all know MLB wants a Red Sox-Fodger series…

  24. wilcojoe said, on October 17, 2018 at 6:09 pm

The Astros got hosed. Betts reached into the stands and almost made a catch for the ages, but reaching into the stands negates fan interference. Terrible call.

  25. xoot said, on October 17, 2018 at 6:10 pm

Joe West screwed Houston on that call. It’s just absurd that mlb doesn’t have cameras aimed laterally along the fence lines so they can see if a ball is over the wall when a fan touches it. It’s pretty easy to affirm based on inconclusive evidence if you don’t gather the fucking evidence.

    • xoot said, on October 17, 2018 at 6:14 pm

oh, so it turns out there is one “down the wall camera,” but it’s placed so low a spectator blocked it from recording the play. One camera, placed incompetently.

      • wilcojoe said, on October 17, 2018 at 6:16 pm

Totally agree. Absurd that they would only have one camera in a spot that’s obviously going to be blocked.

      • xoot said, on October 17, 2018 at 7:04 pm

this 360-degree instant replay system installed at the Giants ballpark earlier this year uses over 100 cameras. The full system uses software to stitch the many images together in a way that smooths the depiction, so the full 360-degree video product is not good for official replay. Also, the 360 system is focused on a few areas of the field. But if these start-up guys can easily install over 100 cameras at a ballpark so can mlb. No excuse for mlb’s bs technology.

      Geez you think?
That Cubby fan (Steve Bartman) is still in the witness protection program!Death threats galore, spent all his money on therapy sessions, and that was over a freakin foulball down the line!!
Surprised this dude is still out there and not kicked out for being a dumbshit!!

  27. alleykat69 said, on October 17, 2018 at 6:56 pm

Springer got 1 back and it’s not under review!!

  28. wilcojoe said, on October 17, 2018 at 7:07 pm

Altuve looks like Kirk Gibson in the ‘88 Series, limping around the bases. Not good.

  29. alleykat69 said, on October 17, 2018 at 7:20 pm

Great gun to 2nd base by Maldando to nail Bradley who shouldn’t of been on base anyway..

  30. unca_chuck said, on October 17, 2018 at 9:51 pm

What I don’t get is why they even put fans in spots where they can interfere with live balls. I can see foul territory, but potential home run balls shouldn’t be able to be fucked with by the fans.
