Just Say “NO” To Our Honky Team
I have no idea if Yusei Kikuchi is a good pitcher. I don’t even how to pronounce his name. But I want him on the team. The international flavor of our team sucks. Zaidi knows this and his big brain has probably already spanned the globe computing different ways to add and subtract from the team.
Rebuilding doesn’t mean we can’t have fun doing it. Go get this lefty if you can.
Sure why not. Murakami was LHP too, wasn’t he?
I guess AZ had their Bum type decision(s) to make but just hard to fathom why they’d dump their best player.
Last year he got off to rough start but final numbers look like this:
.290 BA .389 .533 for .922 OPS with 33 HRs. He’s 30 yrs old and face of franchise, good fielder and not an a-hole. Not someone I see turning into Glen Davis.
Yes they collapsed at the end to wind up 82-80, but Luke Weaver doesn’t seem like he’s gonna help much.
I think it’s a win for both teams.
Bottom line is that the Snakes are a mid-market team and Golds was approaching his “not so golden years.” The guys they got are not stiffs. Yeah, they’re not names, but they will likely help the Snakes in the future. Read this scouting report for specifics on each. In short, not a bad haul in my opinion.

the column link is pure spin. The C is no more than light hitting prospect. Weaver had an ERA of 4.95 for the Cards, by far their worst SP out of 6 that made more than a dozen starts. The WHIP was 1.49 so he wasn’t exactly fooling guys either.
Young and controllable OK. But he sounds more like a back end of rotation 4-5 guy.
What I read on comments in yahoo story about the trade is lot of grief from AZ fans who just lost interest in team. And yeah rest of division sure glad to see him elsewhere.
I’m pissed the Cards got Goldschmidt. The Cards always seem to be able to snag the marquee player when they need him–Cepeda, McGwire, Rolen, Holliday, Ozuna, Ozzie Smith, Jack Clark…………the list goes on and on.
Their farm system is in another stratosphere when compared to ours.
The move surprised me. I thought Goldie would be someone AZ would sign to a long term deal and keep as the face of their franchise. I dunno, maybe more and more teams are going to stay away from mega deals. Going to be interesting to see how this all plays out.
As for Harper, call me crazy, but I think us signing Bryce Harper would improve our team significantly. And him going to the Dodgers would improve them significantly.
The “we need more non-honkies” take always cracks me up. I know its a joke as what we really need are more good players of any race, but its still funny to me that many here call for more non-honkies, but when we get a guy like Span or Jackson, they get absolutley crucified on here the second they struggle.
Farhan not tearing the team down makes me happy. Not bringing Strick back was odd to me though. Anxious to see if whoever they bring in to replace him can pitch as well as he did—ERA under 3 for his time with us.
Totally agree with Loo on Bum. If we let him get to free agency, I wouldn’t blame him at all if he signed a deal with LA.
Baggs had a good idea in his maibag the other day on The Athletic to make ATT more fair. Simply paint a stripe on the right field wall about 6 feet from the base and anything above that is a homerun. I would personally like to see them go further than that, but that is a nice easy step in the right direction.
I remember Cesar Cedeno going wild for them as a late season pick up in ’85…
Same with Will Clark.
Wow, did he ever! Just looked it up.
And that was the end for him…
Not surprised about Goldschmidt.
I’m in Phoenix fairly often. Local sportstalk radio this past season had him likely gone in the offseason…
Eovaldi, he of the multiple TJs who will be 29 by ST, got 4 yrs at $67mil from Sox who sure liked what they saw in post season.
wonder if Bum is reading Financial Times
How does that deal and the one for Corbin make you feel about trading/extending Bum?
I’m sure yesterday Timmy smoked a big fatty in honor of Goldy leaving the division.
Goldschmidt should enter the HR Derby with Tim as his pitcher…
Guarantee he wins it easily lol 😆
Timmy doesn’t play baseball anymore, why would he care if goldy was in the NL West or not?
Word on the street is that Zaidi’s scouting this little known prospect.
Now that’s a HONKY!!!
His launch angle tool is off the charts.
…tonk man.
Years ago a gal opening dress shop across street from work had an Elvis imp guy come by De rigeur jumpsuit sideburns caddy. Sings a few tunes with sound system back up and some thank you very much. Takes a break and repeats few of the same cuts.
totally lame low rent version. Can’t believe people still pay to watch/listen.
Too expensive when you figure the posting fee, etc. He’ll be a bust anyway.

Living in the city ain’t where’s it’s at
It’s like trying to find gold in a silver mine
It’s like trying to drink whiskey🥃from a bottle of wine 🍷
Good song . . .
Us kids used to think he said “pissin” in a stream in the first verse…
That isn;t what he says?
Pretty sure it’s “fishin”…
I like pissin in a stream, that something Bum would do..
