Kratz!

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on April 13, 2019

Flip a 1.0 into Kratz’ FWAR bank account. All that guy does is catch and fuck.

Feels like another jet ski day.

Let’s see if Mad Bum can get through 5 with the lead and then will Bochy have the sack to pull him?

mm both pens pretty much ruined after last night/day game today. 14 innings of shutout ball by Giants pen including guys going couple innings. This is part of building winning team today, having multiple guys that can pick up a starter by that third time around batting order. What Smrdz did Thursday going strong 7 becomes even more important.
Dunno what’s wrong with Rox, but yeow they’re even more punchless than Giants.
And the Pads take over first…along with Mets Mariners Rays.

Spot on Willie. They sat on their laurels in the off season. The only guy they got (admittedly a good one), Murphy, whom was supposed to replace DJ, has a significant finger injury. Additionally, another key player, Dahl, is injured as well. Fans here are POed that the GM didn’t do more after their excellent season in 2017.

However, the immediate concern is too many Ks, as they’ve been averaging 9.1 whiffs a game. Pair the SOs with Colorado’s lack of power – just eight home runs – and it’s easy to see why the offense (.216 average) has stalled during the club’s 3-9 start.

“I’m 2-for-2 in the 18th inning,” Belt said. “I’m the greatest 18th-inning hitter ever.”

    Belt’s pretty funny these days.

  3. unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 8:38 am

And we’re 2 games behind the Dodgers.

  4. willedav said, on April 13, 2019 at 9:07 am

13 scoreless for Giants pen. Belt has slugging up to .500 and OPS to .822. Would be great if he can stay up there. Look at Rox, wow Arenado is at .650, Blackmon at .612 and everyone except Story even worse than that.
Giants have gone from Oshits and Okrap to Kratz!
Bart watch continues Schulman and Shea taking note report Bochy has been checking with Billy Hayes who manages SJ. didn’t Hayes used to be bullpen C for SF?

  5. Bozo said, on April 13, 2019 at 9:47 am

As Loo predicted, Kratz steals the show. Hell of a call on Loo’s part and a hell of dribbler by Kratz to get Belt home and end that marathon.

  6. Macdog said, on April 13, 2019 at 10:41 am

Watching the replay of the Kratz play, the Rox catcher might have had more to do with the win.

“I tried to play it like a first baseman, and my foot didn’t stay on the base,” Iannetta said. “I felt like I’d never played baseball before. I don’t think I’ll be sleeping much after this one.”

Chris Davis got a hit, a 2-run single against the Red Sox!

Ends at 54 hitless AB’s For Chris Davis as all bars in Baltimore are now pouring a free drink 🥃 to their patrons to celebrate 🎉 his ineptitude!!

  11. djloo27 said, on April 13, 2019 at 12:39 pm

    1. Steven Duggar (L) RF
    2. Yangervis Solarte (S) SS
    3. Kevin Pillar (R) CF
    4. Buster Posey (R) C
    5. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
    6. Pablo Sandoval (S) 1B
    7. Joe Panik (L) 2B
    8. Madison Bumgarner (R) P
    9. Gerardo Parra (L) LF

    • zumiee said, on April 13, 2019 at 12:54 pm

Posey and Longoria back-to-back is rough, but I don’t know what else can be done with this lineup.

      • djloo27 said, on April 13, 2019 at 12:56 pm

        Flip Posey & Bum…

  12. unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 1:03 pm

Posey has to be the only #4 hitter that is doing absolutely nothing,

    • djloo27 said, on April 13, 2019 at 1:11 pm

Maybe there’s some new analytic that says you bat your worst hitter 4th…

    • unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 1:39 pm

      Psycholytics.

  13. blade3colorado said, on April 13, 2019 at 1:19 pm

Goose egg for 1st inning the entire season? Whoa . . .

    • blade3colorado said, on April 13, 2019 at 1:20 pm

Shit, I think the Sherpas are too. That’s some futility.

  14. alleykat69 said, on April 13, 2019 at 1:22 pm

Didnt Kratz want to man up and catch again today?
Only in the squat for 18 innings last night, nothing for the old school catchers back in the days, to rub some Ben Gay on and strap on the gear ⚙️..

  15. unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 1:42 pm

Nice rally killing lead off single and walk.

  16. unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 2:02 pm

    Posey off the schneid!

  17. snarkk said, on April 13, 2019 at 2:17 pm

Don’t understand why Panik doesn’t bunt Panda over to third with no outs. They aren’t walking Bum, and he’s as good a hitter as most, which he proved with the shot off Story. If Panda’s on third, he scores on that. Parra Ks, so here we are ready to not score with leading double. Unless Duggar does something…

  18. blade3colorado said, on April 13, 2019 at 2:26 pm

It’s weird or hard to explain, but this is the most confident I have felt about the Giants taking today’s game in maybe 2 seasons. Rockies just look so hapless.

  19. Flavor said, on April 13, 2019 at 2:32 pm

    Pillar up to 5.0 FWar

  20. unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:00 pm

  21. unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:02 pm

    get the pen going faster

  22. unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:03 pm

Jesus. This will be tied or worse in 2 batters.

  23. unca_chuck said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:16 pm

I know the pen is taxed, but Jesus get him out.

  24. snarkk said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:23 pm

Bum was done at end of 7. obvious. Apparently not to Boch…

    • zumiee said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:29 pm

Bochy is old-school to the end. Let the starter go until the train-wreck.

    Unbelievable…

  28. snarkk said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:51 pm

Any contender will take Bums 2 enie’s in 7 Frames to the Bank. And pay some good prospects to get it. Pull the trigger…

    • zumiee said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:58 pm

I don’t see it happening as long as the Giants are in reasonable contention in the wild card. Zaidi would get way too much blow-back, and he knows it.

    • blade3colorado said, on April 13, 2019 at 3:59 pm

Bum has a game on the road in Pittsburgh (a pitchers park) and then the vaunted Yankees at home. Yeah, make the trade NLT after the Pirates game.

    Panda.
Great D, double, scored, started rally with strike out hustle…

    • snarkk said, on April 13, 2019 at 4:04 pm

I’d start him at third a few games and let Longo think about how to hit…

      • blade3colorado said, on April 13, 2019 at 4:12 pm

In fairness to Longo, he did have a triple today and a great defensive play on a bunt.

      • blade3colorado said, on April 13, 2019 at 4:15 pm

Plus, he created that “You Don’t Suck” belt, that he hands out to a key Giants player after wins.

  35. djloo27 said, on April 13, 2019 at 5:06 pm

If he gets it together and proves he’s healthy, I believe there’s a far better chance that they extend Bumgarner than trade him. What’s the big deal about 4/110 or 5/140 these days. Throw in some incentive shit and an opt out. Isn’t that the trend now? It’s understood that the last year or 2 of these deals will be shit for the team. It’s built in already. Would be good for morale and they’ve treated him like shit. He personally won a WS for us.

    • gianthead said, on April 13, 2019 at 5:39 pm

I’m still of the mindset of still trading him to get as many top tier prospects as possible and then still try and offer him a free agent deal. I don’t see anyone offering more than 5 years if that. 5/$125 is I think happy for all sides…

      • gianthead said, on April 13, 2019 at 5:40 pm

        Go Dubs!!!

ARE YOU SO FUCKIN’ SPOILED BY 3 CHAMPIONSHIPS THAT YOU DON’T CARE???

  36. zumiee said, on April 13, 2019 at 6:27 pm

Clippers have two great players, but that’s not enough to beat the Warriors.

Sorry, loo. I should visit some time. My sister lives there and one of my oldest pals has a shop in the Bronx that specializes in computer repair, guitar strings and ping pong equipment that I’ve been meaning to check out. Mikey’s Hook Up. Ever heard of it?

      • djloo27 said, on April 13, 2019 at 9:03 pm

I never heard of anything. Wouldn’t stop me from meeting you anyplace I can get to by train.
Any fuckin’ time. I love trains. They seem to only go where the track allows them.

The Spurs are retro. They shoot few 3s.

  41. willedav said, on April 13, 2019 at 10:53 pm

Great W by Spurs. Love Derrick White who had one great season at Colorado after playing 3 years at much smaller school. Spurs might not go far but you gotta know you’re in a battle playing Pop coached team.

I still don’t think bum draws more than 1 decent prospect from anyone if that and any prospect could turn out to be the next MTO…or Charlie Williams. No one is giving up the next R Acuna level guy. One thing about game today is everyone knows other team’s top of line prospects.
Meanwhile Bum is winning games right now where he wants to be.
Leave him alone and work out something reasonable.
