Facing Facts
Obviously disappointed with the 3-1 deficit in the Finals but can’t really complain. Toronto has pretty much beaten the Warriors in nearly every quarter except Game 2 third Q and last night’s first Q. Bottom line: Without a healthy Durant they aren’t good enough to beat the Raptors in a 7 game series—or maybe even a 5 game series. Yikes.
Giants beating LA AND Kershaw went a long way to salvaging the evening.
Today, The Belmont. I will spare you all my horse racing takes, I know only a few appreciate them.
Do you have one key 🏇?
I think it’s a 2 horse race and I like both the favorites. Tacitus over WW. It’s a race to watch more than a race to bet on (IMO). I’ll have Spinoff in my pick 4 along with the other 2 just because I am envisioning a scenario, however unlikely, that he inherits the lead in the stretch and who knows, maybe he holds on. Not touting Spinoff, just telling you what I’m doing, I think Tacitus really is the most likely winner. Bummer, I’d like to see WoW win just cause I really like that horse.
I see now
If by some miracle Smarj can keep that ERA under 4.00 for a few weeks, he might actually be movable if they eat some of his money…
I like Intrepid Heart ❤️ to win the Belmont!!🐎
Will the Thrill is looking like our best trade piece right now. Package him up with Smargle.
1. Mike Yastrzemski (L) RF
2. Brandon Belt (L) 1B
3. Evan Longoria (R) 3B
4. Tyler Austin (R) LF
5. Kevin Pillar (R) CF
6. Brandon Crawford (L) SS
7. Aramis Garcia (R) C
8. Donovan Solano (R) 2B
9. Jeff Samardzija (R) P
Can someone explain this Solano stuff to me? We don’t have any middle infielder down below who deserves a look more than this stiff?
The barren talent pool in the AA and AAA levels in this org is mind boggling…
Him and Solarte might be the same person…
Yeah Solano sucks, and unfortunately so does their AAA…AA most of them should be AA recovery!
Avelino maybe a upgrade over Solano, shit it couldn’t hurt.
They have Slater in the doghouse playing LF now, (Zman can’t stand him imo)why couldn’t he play some second ?Lefty/Righty platoon some with Panik.Thought he played some 2nd but I don’t remember if he stunk there?
I think Slater did play 2nd in college and in Richmond…not betting on that though. But great point they should have playing 2nd in Sacto…
The 3-in-5 championships were each won with a different starting second baseman, of course. Each one contributed to a championship, but the position has been in flux, throughout, mainly because of injuries.
It’s a concern, definitely.
As you know love the horse spin…so your pick? Will read above if you have already disseminated…going into Game 1 knew we could not win without KD. I had picked a 6 game win if KD was back by Game 3…I harbor doubts he is back for Game 5. Maybe a miracle classic Warriors win and KD back at home for Game 6.
Anyone here think Kerr has been completely out-coached the last 2 games??? They totally exploited every weakness we have last night, especially Curry on D and when we went small they shoved it down out throats. Game 3, they were ready for any alley-oops…
And looks like Bochy needs to go 48-52 for the remaining games to hit 2000 wins…do we do an under under??? I am praying he hits it right on the mark. Giving something to play for last month, last week and last weekend.
the Giants may have neatly quenched the fire on that fuse with their big, emotional “1,000 wins as a Giant” promo efforts last week.
Don’t think Kerr outcoached. Raptor payers playing better. Easy. Yesterday we had a huge amount of turnovers (17-9) and 12/20 free throws. Add in how bad Green is shooting and there you have it. Our bench getting killed by theirs. Cook 0/5 Cousins a shell. Biggest disappointment of the series is how invisible he has been
The good news: after next season we’re done with Smarj.
56 pitches in two innings, LOL.
but only 1 run and got out of the last one with couple ground balls. Seager didn’t exactly tattoo his ribbie either.
And Garcia ties it up, nicely done.
Garcia!!!
As far as Kerr goes, i think the team is gassed more than anything.
Solano lol. Avelino is rated a plus fielder and is currently hitting .301 in Coast League with 4 HRs in 219 ABs…what would that translate to in MLB? Look you want to rebuild/tear down, then you have to live with these guys til the next Tatis Jr. comes along.
Longoria doing his rally-killer thing.
Curry was slow. Cousins is coming off his injury, Thompson played well. But no one else. The bench is really not contributing nearly enough.
Smarj botched the sac bunt, that didn’t help.
Longoria was so overmatched, it was pathetic.
Then error, Longoria. He’ll be sucking for the Giants for several more years.
pretty nice diving stop there while out of position to end inning. Smardz continues to hold LA down.
The Pads top IF prospect luis Urias is hitting .368 in AAA. They brought him up last year and he hit .208 in 50 ABs end of year. He was up earlier and went 2/24 for .083. He couldn’t make team out of ST because he didn’t hit there either. You just can’t tell anything despite teams having highly rated prospects.
Pads top C Hedges had a .590 OPS last year and is hitting .190 right now.
Boom the Fwar leader one hops CF wall over Verdugo’s head.
Solano!
Ha Solano rakes Hill. I can’t stand watching the slop throwing guys like him beat Giants.
Fuck. You don’t have to hang the pitch cuz you are pissed.
Pillar swings at a lot of high stuff out of the zone. Dumb AB from him.
Bases drunk, no outs and you don’t score. Bah.
Interesting game today. They’re competitive and right in it, but we can also see on display the reasons they’re so far under .500.
Almost a quality start! (hocks a loogie and spits)
That’s the most BS hit by pitch I’ve ever seen!
That move went well. The look on Smarz’s face is classic, as Holland walks his only guy as Boch lumbers out to get him..
Austin in LF–he’s better than Big Foot, but . . ..
Even Bigfoot is headed out on the Giants..
Interesting question they raised- if Smith is traded before the All Star game, who goes? Yikes.
It would probably be Belt, and that would be ugly.
Pablo. That’d be perfect in many ways, not all of them savory.
I’ve finally accepted the fact that this is the lowly franchise I’ll be rooting for for quite a few of my golden years. Not exactly the vista I’d hoped to see. Meanwhile, the first significant wildfire of the year has burst up near Calistoga. It’s not even summer yet and yet it’s fire season already.
this guy broadcasting for Fox with Pierzynski, he doesn’t much like AJ, does he?
Joe Davis, the regular Dodger TV guy.
Vin Scully’s heir to the throne.
Was he the totally silent guy Scully spent ten years talking to?
Who does? AJ’s a total prick, ask Brett Tomko..
or Stan Conte.
Yeah Pablo would be my choice after Smith, he’s been money as their best overall player,Sadly how that makes the rest of the players consistently suck in a forgettable season..
Yeah AJ, the Giants had a cap shaped for you as well, it looked like a “Ass Face”
That was a bizarre game. The Giants didn’t suck but they did, the Dodgers didn’t kick our ass but they did.
A look at the future: January 20, 2021. Hopefully.

Too good an ending for him!
