Getting Better

Posted in Uncategorized by Flavor on June 10, 2019

If Booby and Sabes were still at the helm I would have absolutely zero confidence that they could work the mid season trade scene. Not only do they have no understand of what their players are worth I’m not sure they even knew who all the other GM’s were. But Zaidi, until he shows he can’t do it, gets my full and total endorsement on trading anyone on our team that anyone else might want.

The question that will be fun to watch unfold is, does he package Bum and Smith in a blockbuster or will he get more value by trading them separately. Outside of those two I’m not sure if we have anyone worth anything. Maybe Belt. Maybe a couple other relievers. But if you’re talking about trading for a stud blue chip or two—Bum and Smith are the golden gooses.

Anyway, the trade deadline is our world series this year. There is enough demand, Z will not get hoodwinked or taken for a ride by another GM.

Draymond gets a phantom travelling call, and Leonard take 4 gigantic steps and no whistle.

I hope the game in Oakland goes 40 free throws to 12.

Great gutsy win. Curry and Thompson at the end.

Green better not get a T in Oakland are he won’t be playing a possible gm7, that sure didn’t work out against Cleveland..

Warriors showed why they’re champs, Raptors not so much. Raptors up 6 with the ball and all that momentum called timeout about 3:30 left. Whatever Nurse was trying to get out of that it clearly backfired, Warriors 9-2 rest of the way, only Raptors FG was off goaltending. Lowry, who had a strong 2nd half, also missed a wide-open 3 with about 2:00 left that would’ve pushed lead back to 6 and might’ve been the dagger.

Oh, I guess that sort of answers my question… 🙂

      • Macdog said, on June 10, 2019 at 8:56 pm

Glad to fill in the blanks, haha.

    • alleykat69 said, on June 10, 2019 at 8:53 pm

So your saying the coach doesn’t know how to Nurse a lead?

      • Macdog said, on June 10, 2019 at 8:55 pm

        Lulz!

    • unca_chuck said, on June 10, 2019 at 8:54 pm

Bingo. I thought that was odd they THEY stopped the action. I thought it mifht allow us to regroup.

Interesting to “watch” the W’s game only by reading Flap posts. Sounded to me throughout your posts that this game/season was over for GS. And then suddenly it wasn’t. What the hell happened? Guess I’ll wait for the videos to hit ESPN…

    • alleykat69 said, on June 10, 2019 at 8:58 pm

P/A basically the Warriors tightened up their defense down the stretch, and the Splash brothers Klay&Steph hit huge 3’s down the stretch to finish off a 9-2 run and held on!!

Thanks Kat, I look forward to rolling the tape.. 🙂

The reffing has been fairly good, but this game was terrible.

That being said, Iggy gets the game ball for stopping Leonard on that last play.

  16. unca_chuck said, on June 10, 2019 at 8:55 pm

What really pisses me off is Gasol bitches every foul, every close play, everything, in the ref’s face, and no T’s. Dray gets T’ed at the drop of a hat.

  17. unca_chuck said, on June 10, 2019 at 9:16 pm

Meyers in tears talking about KD. It does sound like this is an achilles.

    Shit.

      Awesome!

      Ouch. I mean literally, ouch….

  19. alleykat69 said, on June 10, 2019 at 9:27 pm

Yeah Bob Myers really spilling out his guts and very emotional over KD’s injury saying clearly it’s not the calf it’s a separate injury (Achilles) now.
He said KD just wants to play basketball with his teammates,he’s often misunderstood, but not by me are this team, he was cleared to play, but if you need someone to take the blame, Its me,I am the head of the basketball operation! Truly upsetting press conference from the heart..

  20. unca_chuck said, on June 10, 2019 at 9:47 pm

This is such a weird vibe around these post game interviews. The guys are truly devastated by KD’s injury. And they can barely even feel good about what they just did to get to game 6.

I just hope they can get Looney back on Thursday.

  21. alleykat69 said, on June 10, 2019 at 10:07 pm

I think KD will inspire them coming out of the tunnel,DUB Nation will have Oracle Rockin, and they don’t want to lose their last game in Oracles long history! Dubs take it to game 7 and anything goes in a gm7, and their the champions with heart and this would be their finest title ever if they can pull it off..

  22. unca_chuck said, on June 10, 2019 at 10:13 pm

Yeah, this would be insane if they could somehow pull this off. Then we get Kawhi Leonard in free agency.

    Hah!

  23. unca_chuck said, on June 10, 2019 at 10:15 pm

    Robo ump, anyone?

    • snarkk said, on June 10, 2019 at 10:57 pm

Ump was fooled by catcher’s position. Catcher wanted it inside, so he had to reach over to catch the ball that was right over the plate. No excuse the ump missed it, but that explains it, along with hernandez being a terrible ump…

  24. willedav said, on June 10, 2019 at 10:56 pm

After Green picked up his 5th (non shooting) foul he was on Leonard in the post and he yelled to Thompson that he had 5. They screened for Leonard to come up to the ball and after that Thompson always had him, with help coming on that last play there by Iguodala, while Green stuck with Lowry. worked perfectly during the comeback though earlier Leonard muscled his way inside and overpowered Klay during his 10 point scoring run. Livingston was on the floor too iirc for final possession. Kerr certainly got better of Nurse at the end.

Yes scoring 2 points down the stretch, at home, and blowing a 6 point lead isn’t exactly championship mode. Toronto has to be kicking themselves.

  25. snarkk said, on June 10, 2019 at 11:01 pm

How on earth the refs did NOT call Kawhi for that 5-6 step travel is just mind boggling. Out in the open, by himself, walked halfway to Mississauga. No call. And, Raptors got a bucket on that possession. That could have been the difference in winning a championship. Then, 15 seconds to go and the ref calls a moving screen on Boogie. Seriously? That was an unbelievable call, given the circumstances with a championship literally in the balance — literally handing the ball back over to the Raptors so they can take the game winner. How many screens worse than that happened in this game? Lots and lots. NBA refs suck…

  26. snarkk said, on June 10, 2019 at 11:29 pm

    OK dude. Sure. You’re right.
Dubs are on year 5 straight of playing in the finals, first team in 60 years to do that. No heart, no. None. That’s all luck and brain farts by the oppo. For 5 years and 20 straight playoff series.
And, yeah, thanks for admitting Toronto doesn’t get close to winning this series without the massive injury situation on the Dubs. Have fun servicing Drake…
